IRINA SHAPOSHNIKOVE TO BE SHOWCASED
Irina Shaposhnikova FashionsRussian fashion designer and recent graduate from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium, Irina Shaposhnikova, is taking the fashion world by storm. Shaposhnikova’s graduate collection named ‘Crystallographica’ has the fashion industry buzzing with major artist Kanye West blogging about the collection among others. Fashion Week Daily states that the collection "managed to defy the cliches and put out looks worth remembering." She is at the top of the “emerging designers to watch” lists and her collection, Crystallographica, is now available in the US. Irina Shaposhnikova’s collection is carried exclusively by L’Armoire du Styliste - an international clothing rental atelier located at 6 W. 20th St., NY, NY, USA. L'Armoire du Styliste carries high end, rare and edgy ready-to-wear and couture garments, shoes, and accessories from designers in the US, UK, and across Europe for stylists, editors and celebrities. L’Armoire du Styliste will be showcasing Shaposhnikova's graduate collection on Wednesday, July 22nd and Thursday, July 23rd from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Irina Shaposhnikova was born in Moscow, Russia. At age 14 Shaposhnikova worked in her father’s sewing atelier where she learned about fabrics, materials, garments and how to stitch them. During her time there, Shaposhnikova quickly discovered her aspiration for fashion design. In 2008 Shaposhnikova obtained her BA in Fashion Design from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium and later that year her work was featured in Vogue (Russia). She continued on to obtain her MA in Fashion Design one year later. During Shaposhnikova’s studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts she worked as a backstage assistant at the shows of Dries van Noten and Ann Demeulemeester during Paris Fashion Week.
