MELONI AND HARGITAY SIGN NEW CONTRACT

Mariska Hargitay

Law And Order: SVU stars Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay have finally ended their months-long contract disagreement with television bosses, after signing two-year deals to remain on the hit show. The couple reportedly jeopardized their return to the show by demanding more money from network bosses. Hargitay and Meloni allegedly asked for a share of the program's profits from the NBC network, in addition to the $350,000 they earned per episode, a rare deal similar to ones TV bosses cut with "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" stars Vincent D'Onofrio and Chris Noth. Media reports in April suggested bosses had threatened to can the couple when their contracts expire in May if an agreement could not be reached, but they have agreed to a new two-year deal. "Law and Order: SVU" has been on the air for 11 years.
