"American Idol" star Adam Lambert has ruined his promising career by coming out as gay, according to KISS singer Gene Simmons. Lambert ended weeks of gossip by declaring his sexuality just days after he lost the 2009 show finale to winner Kris Allen. Simmons is insisting he should have kept the information to himself, because his homosexuality will now overshadow everything he ever does. The KISS star tells AOL, "He killed his career because now the conversation is not about his talent but about his sexual preference. He's done."I hope I'm completely wrong. I hope he becomes the next Beatles and proves me wrong."

I do wish Gene would stop broadcasting his prophecy of doom about Adam's future. Society is not as homophobic as it was when Gene and I were young. Besides, I don't see that Adam had a choice but to admit the obvious since he has been courageously living his truth since he was 20. Does Gene think Adam should lie to make inquiring people feel comfortable. I would admire Gene more if he would be more supportive of this young talent who has been so complementary and respectful to Gene/KISS.

Gene needs to stop ....He has sex tapes out there...and talks about sex with multiple partners etc...His opinion is worthless..he is jealous, old, and needing this publicity..I think he is using this for just plain keeping his face in the media..at the expense of a truly great talent == Adam Lambert...so back off Gene....
