TOM HANKS HUMILIATED AT BASEBALL GAME

Hollywood star Tom Hanks humiliated himself in front of thousands of Japanese baseball fans when he threw a ceremonial first pitch that did not make it to the home plate. The actor was in Tokyo on Friday promoting his new film, "Angels and Demons," and was asked to throw the first pitch at a game between the Yomiuri Giants and the Chunichi Dragons at famed Tokyo Dome. Tom took some practice throws in the bullpen before heading onto the field with a batter from the Yomiuri Giants, as director Ron Howard stood behind the home plate watching. The ball bounced a few feet in front of the home plate and skidded past Howard. Hanks says, "Tons of practice and I bounced it in the dirt, I'm humiliated. I went from the rush of being in the sacred spot to the humiliation of being mortal."
