Last October we had the pleasure of making the acquaintance of Miki Singh and The Singhs at a fashionable do at The Rivington Hotel near alphabet city in NYC. The group that night was officially launching their new CD SUPERSATURATED (Redstar). The CD was welcomed with open arms by radio, and a track from the set “Daddy’s All Gone” garnered some positive station play coast-to-coast. The band will be coming to New York in early-June and July for a series of media appearances and concerts. This time they’re coming here armed with a new dance remix of “Beautiful Thing”, remixed by Jesse Houk aka The Scumfrog, who has done remix work for David Bowie; Britney Spears; Dido; and, Enrique Iglesias. There’s also word that the band may be be doing some recording while here with noted producer TONY VISCONTI (David Bowie; T-Rex; Moody Blues; Argent; Luscious Jackson; Badfinger; Gentle Giant; Mary Hopkin; Wings; and, Sparks). The interaction between the group and Visconti should be very noteworthy and productive indeed. The primarily based Boston-based band has performed all over the worlds, including Morocco, The Maldives, India, France, The Netherlands, French West Indies, and the U.S. We’ll be in the studio with them as their journey with Visconti continues. The Sings are: Miki Singh; renowned- Boston guitarist Peter Parcek; keyboardist Brother Cleve; drummer Steve Scully; and, Bassist Marc Hickox.
