Singing star Ashlee Simpson is preparing to return to the television screen with a part on the "Melrose Place" remake, according to a new reports. Ashlee landed a recurring role on "7th Heaven" in 2002 and spent two years a member of the drama's cast. And now she is set to act again after landing the part of Violet, a "small-town girl" who is actually a "shrewd sex kitten within," reports Entertainment Weekly. Bosses at The CW, who brought back "Beverly Hills, 90210" as a spin-off last year, have ordered the production of a pilot episode of the new "Melrose Place."
