ABSOLUTE PITCH SHOWCASES NY ARTISTS
BEATRICE BUGNOSEN's Absolute Pitch Public Relations firm will showcase their entire roster at next week's SXSW Music Conference in Austin, Texas. The firm will present 6 rising indie acts at Creekside Lounge on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, 8pm – 2am in downtown Austin. Based in the heart of New York City, APPR specializes in independent “do-it-yourself” artists who are neither signed to a label or are completely self-managed. Beatrice Bugnosen, APPR owner and President, says that her firm has had to adapt quickly to the ever-evolving music industry. “Our role as publicists has evolved to include pseudo-managers/bookers/promoters,” says Bugnosen. “These days, you have to be extremely flexible and creative in order to be successful in the music industry today.”One way of being creative is finding corporate sponsors for events such as this SXSW showcase. APPR is currently seeking sponsors to help cover the venue, travel, and/or promotion expenses for the artists. The showcase lineup will include their artists from rock, pop, and electronic music genres. The artists are:
