WINEHOUSE DENIES SHE RUINED VACATIONS

Rehab star Amy Winehouse is laughing off rumors she is causing havoc on the island of St. Lucia, branding reports she has ruined fellow holidaymakers' vacations with her debauched antics as "ridiculous." Amy escaped to the Caribbean island in December following a month-long stay in a London hospital after suffering a allergic reaction to prescribed medication. And despite Amy looking happy and healthy throughout the vacation, British tabloids claim the star has been pestering locals for booze and upsetting fellow hotel guests with her crazy wild ways. But Winehouse refutes the reports, insisting she has simply been enjoying her holiday like any other young person would. She tells Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, "I'm certainly not out of control as some people have said. Yes, I've had a few drinks but I'm on holiday -- I'm just young and having fun. "I'm getting loads of exercise, eating brilliantly and I've really been able to relax. I wasn't really eating properly before with everything going on around me, but its different now." And the award winning singer is also admitting she gets upset when members of the public try and cash in on her fame. She explains, "It's a shame that people judge me on every picture someone sends back home, but I've grown to accept that it's the price you have to pay. "It's sad, but what can I do about it? If I wanted a drink and they had refused to serve me there's plenty of other places to go. It's ridiculous." Meanwhile, Winehouse is hinting she could make St. Lucia her home for good to get away from all the media attention. She adds, "I want a bit more peace and quiet, away from all those cameras. To me, I am in the best place I have been in ages. I'm looking forward to the future."
