MATT DILLON PLEADS NOT GUILTY IN VERMONT

Matt Dillon

Hollywood star Matt Dillon has pleaded not guilty to speeding charges relating to his arrest in Vermont last month. The actor was pulled over by state troopers after he was allegedly recorded traveling at a speed of 106 miles per hour on Interstate 91 in Newbury, Vt., on December 30th. Dillon's lawyer, Mark Kaplan, appeared at the Vermont court yesterday and he entered the not guilty plea on Dillon's behalf. He also told court officials he hoped the case could be resolved without the need for a trial. Dillon was charged with careless and negligent operation for driving more than 30 miles per hour above the 65 miles per hour speed limit. If convicted, he faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
