Grilled Lamb Chops With Lemon Potatoes And Highlighted with String Beans And Pita Bread

Tucked between a long strip of seemingly identical bars on Third Avenue in Murray Hill is Ethos Greek Restaurant, definitely more high-end casual than the typical MH pub/fratty bar. A warm, romantic setting awaits you while a dazzling display of fresh fish on ice, flown in daily from all over the world, entices you. Lunch is served daily Monday through Friday and dinner is served seven days a week. Start with the Tzatziki dip, it will come with a generous portion of hot pita, a crispy crusty white loaf and slices of kalamata olive studded bread. The tzatziki is bold and delicious, definitely heavy on garlic, (in a good way!) Ask for a bottle of olive oil to eat with your bread - the olive oil is authentically Greek. Ethos is refreshingly true to its roots with unfussy, fresh cooking. This is a Greek restaurant where they know how to work the GRILL. It's all about the GRILL. The grilled octopus appetizer is a must. Chase that with your choice from many options of grilled whole fish from the Aegean sea region. The clay pot dishes are also incredible. A bottle (or a glass) of some Greek white wine on the side and you will be transported to a Greek island. Portions are generous, but overall it's a bit expensive for a neighborhood place, yet undeniably Ethos offers something special for locals and tourists alike. Even if the place is busy, a dessert special comes on the house. (We had a light and lemony Galactobourico dessert !)
