A Gathering of Eagles comprised of a complete cross-section of social/economic New York met for the first annual luncheon (and don't forgot the 'educational panel' to benefit the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York (NOFA-NY). NOFA-NY a not-for-profit education and advocacy organization dedicated to establishing economically viable local organic agriculture. Which just goes to show what Christie Brinkley was doing, waxing lyrical with Poet/Farmer Scott Chaskey of Quail Hill on Long Island. Lauren Bush and acolyte Lauren Remington Platt (yet another brain with great legs: a university grad now into modeling and philanthropy) came with their United Nations FEED bags, going global with their vow to end starvation while grazing among farmers, gardeners and consumers toasting one another with organic wine while working to create an accessible, regional food supply that is fresh, healthy and available to everyone. All this at Gustavinos, the perfect setting for other familiar faces in the growing crowd: ecologist, water conservationist Kick Kennedy and Kim Meyerhoff mixing and mingling with that Real New York Housewife, Countess Luanne de Lesseps, Anna Lappe, best selling author/host of PBS' "The Endless Feast", Dr. Woodson C. Merrell, MD, Chairman of Integrative Medicine at the Continuum Center for Health and Healing in NYC, Peter Hoffman, chef of Savoy and Back Forty (also Executive Director and National Chair of the Chefs, named one of Organic Style's Power list top 50) and other faces!faces!faces! among the sustainable agriculturists on the delights brought to big city tables by growers and consumers of conscience.

It is neat to see that 'farming' is cool in NYC. We welcome many visitors from NYC to our guest house on our farm in Vermont.
Many people bring their children to learn where milk comes from, visit with the goats and help with chores. Families find our place very peaceful and relaxing. We make a great homebase to many wonderful 'off farm' activities as well.
