Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio has bought an environmentally friendly apartment in New York City. The actor has paid an unknown amount for the luxury pad in the 263-unit Riverhouse complex, which was built with non-pollutant materials and solar-powered energy. DiCaprio's new home, which overlooks the Hudson River, comes with programmable thermostats, a 24-hour fresh-filtered air system, a dog spa, media cafe and rooftop green landscaping. He is expected to move into his new apartment this summer. The actor's representative says, "Riverhouse is a prime example of how green technology is both accessible and achievable for new residential developments -- it is a groundbreaking building."
Editors Note: This does not sound so green to us. Most new houses have programmable thermostats. A 24 hour fresh air system uses tons of power. What does a dog spa and a media cafe have to do with going green? They use more energy. Are you public relations people nuts? Hey Ken Sunshine, we love you at Times Square Gossip, but who in your office wrote this?
