PATRICK DEMPSEY DONATES TO HOSPITAL

"Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey has donated $250,000 of his own money to a hospital in his beloved hometown. The money will go toward a new cancer center at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine. The new facility, called the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing, will open on March 31 and will be managed by the actor's sister Mary. Dempsey, 42, was born in the hospital and his mother, Amanda, has been successfully treated there for ovarian cancer, reports the New York Post's Page Six.
