MAN ARRESTED FOR STALKING JODIE FOSTER
The man who allegedly stalked Hollywood star Jodie Foster with threatening letters has been arrested on charges of mailing a bomb threat to a Los Angeles California airport. Michael Smegal, of Massachusetts was charged yesterday with mailing the threat, which included the words "Jodie Foster S" and "going to be a gas bomb this building (sic)," to the Van Nuys Airport in December of last year. Police claim Smegal sent a further 100 almost identical letters, some of which also mentioned Foster, to the addresses of celebrities, businesses and airports.Prosecutors say Foster first began receiving anonymous letters and packages from Massachusetts in 2004. If convicted, Smegal faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
