It is hard to wrap the mind around someone so highly educated participating with a client in this manner rather than placing her in rehabiliation. If a lawyer has the authority to handle a client's monies and now represent her estate, why wouldn't he have the authority to have placed her into rehabiliation?
Guess money is different than the sustenance of LIFE!
What would have been the gain for HKS to have assisted or sustained ANS life any longer? Was he not tired of the game and did he not want the cash dividend at this time instead of later in his life? I have seen this game plan utilized before. His losses, especially after DWS death, were growing; in his mind, he needed to cut the losses, turn his profit, and get on! LB got the kid, and with it a bit of financial bling (bet HKS has a signed contract for a share of that) BUT that is a diminishing return; LB has a duty and a responsibility to raise the child; he is under public scrutiny now that HKS, in the long run, really did not want. Eventually, market saturation of interest in child will end; LB will still have duty and HKS will be free to enjoy his gain.
This would have eventually happened, IMO, except it was sooner, rather than later, due to ANS vocalizing her doubts of HKS integrity. That put it over the top, something HKS could not have! Yes, VA did the same and had to be diminished as a creditable source.
Who is the BIGGER player behind this? Who holds HKS's puppet strings? I look to Goen, Rale, Keith.... all IMHO but based upon my observations in life.
IF I was HKS, I would not want to mess up and tick anyone off...
There's a professional psychologist who had both Goen (with how many aliases?) and Mz. Flurtz on his once highly esteemed show and, also, advertised both TrimSpa (keep wanting to say SLIM FAST) and Flurtz Chocolate on his website!
Interesting.... It would appear non-integrity, lacking ethics, and GREED run quite deep! I'll never look at Dr. Phil the same way, again.

Why aren't the authorities questioning this? This is what has been so disturbing from the get go.
Not only was this lawyer enabling her drug addiction, he was living off of her, he was videotaping her and letting her go on television in that state of mind to make a fool of herself!

First day of October and Autumn is in full swing. It has been a very exciting September and October promises to be even more revealing.

Howard did, in fact, give Daniel crushed methadone tabs. He went to one of the many drug-interaction websites to find out the side-effects of mixing certain drugs.
He knew that Daniel was prescribed a seratonin reuptake inhibitor (SRI) for depression. Then Kapoor gave Daniel another SRI. So Dan was double-dosing, in effect.
Entering those two drugs and methadone on the website showed right away that the combination was lethal. Howard took that info and used it to kill Danny. Then he used every trick of the trade to stall the release of Dan's autopsy and raised holy hell and called in favors from the King family to get Virgill removed from the case.

29973. As for the crushed methadone. This is what I was told by someone (I'll call him Witness) who was there, in the hospital room, before the police had secured the area. And there was a good chunk of time before the room was cordoned off and evidence was taken away:
There was a plastic cup and a napkin in the wastebasket next to the second bed. Those were the only items in the wastebasket. Looking down into the wastebasket, the witness said he saw what looked like a fine, white powder residue on the bottom of the cup.
