Oscar-winning actress HELEN MIRREN is set to star in a new movie set in the contentious Gaza Strip.The British star will play a Jewish woman in the strife-torn area whose journalist daughter is having a relationship with a Palestinian, and is shot dead. Scriptwriter Frank Deasy and director Philip Martin were planning to visit Gaza last month to research for the movie but had to cancel after the kidnapping of BBC correspondent Alan Johnston in March was thought to make it too dangerous. Andy Harries, whose company Left Bank Pictures is making the movie, says, "It’s much more a human interest story rather than a political one. "The movie is inspired by events in Gaza and not by any particular real incident."
