DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER 'DUANE CHAPMAN' TO BE EXTRADITED TO MEXICO
A Mexican court has cleared the way for television bounty hunter and Colorado native Duane "Dog" Chapman to be extradited from Hawaii. A spokeswoman for the second district court in Guadalajara said the court rejected Chapman's injunction request, ruling there's no reason not to try him with deprivation of liberty. Chapman is a Denver native who attracted national attention when he captured Max Factor heir and convicted rapist Andrew Luster in Mexico 2003. He was allegedly taken across the border by Chapman to face charges. That's the same case for which Chapman is facing charges of illegal detention and conspiracy in Mexico. Chapman now lives in Hawaii where his reality television series is shot. Last October, Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo said he and 28 other members of Congress had written to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, asking her to deny Chapman's extradition. Chapman faces up to four years in a Mexican jail if convicted.
