THE GAME PLAYS GAME AND LOSES
The rapper known as The Game was arrested earlier in the week after telling a cab driver that he was an undercover police officer and convincing the cabbie to run a series of red lights, police said Saturday. The Game, a best-selling West Coast rapper whose real name is Jayceon Taylor, faces a charge of impersonating a police officer, said Sgt. Kevin Hayes, a police spokesman. The accusation was denied by The Game's lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman, who said the police had been tailing the rapper throughout his stay in New York and that the cabbie was a terrible driver. The rapper, 26, is accused of picking up the livery cab at West 56th Street and Seventh Avenue. The driver drove about 13 blocks before the vehicle was pulled over Thursday night, after The Game had appeared on "Late Show with David Letterman.""This is really a new low even for the NYPD," Lichtman said Saturday. "It's a big joke to harass him and other members of the hip-hop community, and ultimately arresting him. Let's see how funny they think it is during the cross-examinations of this trial."
