Archbishop Elpidophoros With Michael Pitsinos MANHATTAN, NY: Michael Pitsinos, founder of NAIA Hamptons at the chic Capri Southampton, was spotted at the official relaunch of the construction on St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine. The only church that was destroyed during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, the launch event was attended by his eminence, Greek Orthodox Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, Governor Andrew Cuomo, and the leadership of Friends of St. Nicholas, including Chairman Dennis Mehiel, Vice Chairman Michael Psaros, and Board Member John Catsimatidis. Pitsinos, a Greek-American and supporter of St. Nicholas, was among the many who helped the friends of St. Nicholas to raise over $45 million in funds for the second phase of construction of the church, expected to open September 11, 2021.

Cynthia Nixon New York State Senate Health Committee Chair Kemp Hannon and Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano will join Sex and the City Star and breast cancer survivor Cynthia Nixon as well as over 500 breast cancer survivors, support groups, and health officials on Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Third Annual Breast Cancer Summit. Cynthia Nixon will be speaking about her personal experience and battle with breast cancer. They will be honoring her with a lifetime achievement award for her advocacy and dedication to raising awareness. The event will begin at 11:00 am at The Coral House on 70 Milburn Avenue in Baldwin. Speakers will outline the latest innovations, treatments and services for women with breast cancer, specifically focusing on patient education. A Tribute was held on the 50th Anniversary of Marilyn Monroes Death at Maliblue in Lido Beach, Long Island. Marilyn Monroe spent lots of time and summers on Long Island. The rapper publicly said he flat out don’t like New York. New York City is the birthplace of the Hip Hop music movement. Millions of New Yorkers listen to his music every day. His comments is outraged his local fans and residents. The group demanded an apology from the hip hop star. Lil Wayne has had misfortune in New York with recent gun charges and a jail sentence. THE ROCKETS PLAY FOR OVARIAN CANCER

  The Rockets The Rockets, a band formed over 40 years ago by Great Neck High School students, recently staged a reunion to raise funds for ovarian cancer research at Flower Hill Park in Manhasset, NY. The event was arranged by Liz Oppo, whose 19-year-old daughter, Katie Oppo of Manhasset, a pre-med student at Johns Hopkins University, died of the disease last year. Following their high school days, the band members entered careers in a variety of non-musical professions. Organ/keyboard player Barry Douglas is a plastic surgeon at Garden City-based Long Island Plastic Surgical Group; Eric Kraus, on bass guitar, is an attorney in Manhattan; lead guitarist Ken Applebaum is an assistant district attorney in Queens; guitarist and vocalist Corey Bergman is retired but flew in from Florida for the show; percussionist/vocals Alan Pomerantz works with the Louis Armstrong House Museum in Queens; and drummer Daniel Pincus became a cantor in New York City. Russell Simmons With Mariah Carey Malcolm Smith With A-Rod Jet Setting New York State Senator Malcolm Smith was snapped chatting with New York Yankee's Slugger A-Rod at Southampton's hot spot 75 Main Street, with Publicist Todd Shapiro. Afterwards, the jet setters  went to Russell Simmon's star packed Annual Art For Life Gala, which featured Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon along with Salt and Pepper. Art for Life assists local inner city children with programs dedicated to art. Tyler Perry, donated $100,000, Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Patrice Motsepe with $150,000, Ron Pearlman and Alan Patricoff. Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Congressman Greg Meeks, Gov. David Paterson and NY State Senator Malcolm Smith were also generous with their donations.
