  NYC Second Chance Rescue NYC Second Chance Rescue will host its 5th Annual Concert for a Cause on Friday, August 21st, 2026, at a private estate in Bridgehampton. This year, the organization will honor legendary entrepreneur, philanthropist, and longtime animal advocate John Paul DeJoria while celebrating the world introduction of Pawpoint. Headlining the evening will be Grammy Award-winning artist Ashanti and platinum-selling artist Fabolous, with an opening performance by Celina Savage. Founded in 2009, by Jennifer Brooks and Lisa Blanco, NYC Second Chance Rescue has rescued more than 17,000 homeless, abused, neglected, and critically injured dogs and cats.   Jennifer Brooks NYCSCR President NYC Second Chance Rescue announced a hopeful update on the rescued beagles transferred from Ridglan Farms, the Wisconsin breeding and research facility at the center of a massive national rescue effort. The beagles were first brought to NYC Second Chance Rescue’s Long Island City Adoption Center, where fellow rescue organizations stepped in to help place some of the dogs. NYC Second Chance Rescue is currently working to secure foster and forever homes for the 26 beagles still remaining in its care at the adoption center. Five of the rescued beagles also traveled with their rescuer, Holly Rilinger, to East Hampton, New York, where ARF Hamptons stepped forward to offer additional support and care.   NYC Second Chance Rescue’s Agnes Reichert With Puppy NYC Second Chance Rescue welcomed a group of 70 rescued beagles at its Long Island City Adoption Center, marking a powerful next chapter for some of the 300 dogs removed from Ridglan Farms in Wisconsin as part of a major national rescue effort. The beagles arrived on May 3rd 2026, at NYC Second Chance Rescue’s Adoption Center, located at 27-12 37th Avenue, Long Island City, NY 11101.  The arrival comes as rescue organizations across the country mobilize following a coordinated, multi-organization rescue effort led by Big Dog Ranch Rescue to transfer approximately 2,000 beagles from Ridglan Farms, a Wisconsin-based breeding and research facility. The organization’s signature fundraising gala brought together animal advocates, philanthropists, and supporters for an evening dedicated to helping save the lives of dogs and cats in need. The charity aims to raise critical funds to help continue their mission of providing second chances to critically ill, injured, and abused dogs and cats. The Rescue Ball celebrated 14 years and saving over 14,000 lives.
