Andrew Rannells On March 21, 2014, The New York Pops continues its 31st season at Carnegie Hall with On Broadway, an evening celebrating some of Broadway’s most unforgettable hits from the past and present, featuring Tony Award nominees Stephanie J. Block and Andrew Rannells. Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley were previously slated to perform but are unable to appear due to scheduling conflicts. The event begins at 7:00 PM with a concert at Carnegie Hall featuring a spectacular lineup of guest artists under the baton of Music Director Steven Reineke. Music Director Steven Reineke – described by The New York Times as a “polished, welcoming host” who is “young and vigorous, with a playful attitude” – will lead the orchestra in a highly anticipated concert season including a night of jazz standards revitalized by international trumpet sensation Chris Botti; a tribute to big band legend Benny Goodman with Montego Glover and clarinetist Dave Bennett; a jolly holiday concert with stage star Ashley Brown; an intimate evening with Broadway’s Golden Couple, Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley; and a season closer featuring the orchestra and some of the most beloved music written for the silver screen.

Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke – described by The New York Times as a “polished, welcoming host” who is “young and vigorous, with a playful attitude” – will lead the orchestra in a seasonal celebration featuring guest artists Pink Martini as they perform festive favorites from their album Joy to World. The concert program will feature favorite holiday tunes like “The Little Drummer Boy,” “Ocho Kandelikas,” “Do You Hear What I Hear,” and “We Three Kings.” The performance will also include musical highlights from famed composers Maurice Ravel, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and Irving Berlin. **** THE NEW YORK POPS **** The New York Pops On November 9, 2012, The New York Pops orchestra will be the star of the performance at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke – described by The New York Times as a “polished, welcoming host” who is “young and vigorous, with a playful attitude” – will lead the orchestra in a highly-anticipated performance featuring a program of popular and familiar classical repertoire. The concert program features music from some of the world’s most beloved composers, including Respighi’s “The Pines of the Appian Way” from The Pines of Rome, Maurice Ravel’s “Bolero”, Claude Debussy‘s “Claire de Lune”, and Tchaikovsky’s “Festival Overture in E-flat major, Op. 49” from The Year 1812. The concert will feature soloists from the orchestra, including concertmaster Cenovia Cummins and principal cellist David Heiss.

Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke – described by The New York Times as a “polished, welcoming host” who is “young and vigorous, with a playful attitude” – will lead the orchestra in a highly-anticipated opening with Broadway favorites by beloved duo Rodgers and Hammerstein. The performance features guest artists Aaron Lazar, Kelli O’Hara and Paulo Szot, along with Judith Clurman’s Essential Voices USA and New York Theatre Ballet.
