AMANDA SELWYN DANCE HAMPTON'S GARDEN EVENT

Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre

Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre presents Green Afternoon VI, an annual interactive garden installation and performance at the home of architects Marcia Previti and Peter Gumpel in East Hampton, NY on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 5pm-7pm.

The evening begins at 5 pm with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and several outdoor sitting rooms featuring performance installations, with performers dancing in tree houses, on outdoor sculptures, in and around the swimming pool, in the woods, and more. After the moving installations, at 5:50 p.m., the audience will move to the lawn for a seated performance of Selwyn's developing work Crossroads. Green Afternoon VI takes place at 230 Old Stone Hwy, East Hampton, NY 11937. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased at www.amandaselwyndance.org.

Crossroads is a new work in development by Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre scheduled to premiere in June 2019. The piece explores forging into unchartered waters and that tumultuous process of self-discovery. Inspired by the work of Margritte and Escher, Selwyn will collaborate with scenic & costume designer, Anna-Alisa Belous to shape a surrealistic landscape that highlights these lingering moments at the crossroads, choosing one path or another, and how these moments steer the course of our lives.

"Amanda Selwyn is a master at illustrating the symbiosis of sound and movement, the romance of motion and emotion - she had me laughing, crying, cringing and gasping all in the short 55-minute production."
- Inside New York

"Amanda Selwyn's work is masterly and emotionally expressive, she is truly gifted in the art of dance making." - NYC Dance Stuff

Dancers: Torrey McAnena, Jarred Bosch, Manon Halley, Adam Dickerson, Alex Cottone, Sarah Starkweather, and Maggie Westerfield. Costume and Scenic Design: Anna-Alisa Belous. Sound Design: Joel Wilhelmi.

To get to the performance site from the center of East Hampton, take Montauk Highway/Route 27 to first traffic light past windmill. Turn left onto Accabonac Highway. Drive 4 miles to stop sign at forked intersection. Cross main road and turn right onto north-most fork, Old Stone Highway. Drive 0.25 mile to #230 (mailbox on tree). Please park on main road and walk up drive to first house on right.

Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre creates original and dynamic dance theatre that raises questions, challenges social norms and values, and magnifies humanity through dance. Productions pivot around core themes and through an interplay between athletic and pedestrian motion, activate emotional expression, character, and narrative in a rich and abstract collage. Presenting dance in an immediate, mature, and inclusive way, we engage audiences from start to finish and beckon a response of thought, feeling, and soul.

Founded in 2000, Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre has presented over 65 productions at NYC venues including Tribeca Performing Arts Center, New York Live Arts, Dance Theatre Workshop, Dance New Amsterdam, Danspace Project, Ailey Citigroup Theater, The Kumble Theater, John Jay College, and Mark Morris Dance Center. We have been presented twice at Jacob's Pillow, Westfest, DUMBO Dance Festival, Dixon Place, Dance Teacher Summit, COOL NY, Movement Research, and Pushing Progress Series. We have toured to festivals, presented open rehearsals, interactive performance events and workshops, and offer arts-in-education programming through Notes in Motion Outreach Dance Theatre to children in the NYC public schools.

SUMMER OF LOVE @ SOUTHAMPTON HALSEY HOUSE

The Thomas Halsey Homestead

SOUTHAMPTON NY -- On Saturday, July 7, between 5:30 and 8:00 pm the Southampton Historical Museum will celebrate the Summer Of Love at its annual Halsey House Gala. This neighborly lawn party "Be-In" takes place at Southampton’s oldest home - The Thomas Halsey Homestead, established in 1648 by one of our founding families. Attendees to the 2018 Summer of Love fundraiser will enjoy sunset cocktails amid a colonial landscape and newly restored herb garden.

Inside the expansive tent, friends can enjoy our nostalgic late-1960s Hamptons chic atmosphere and toast to the summer ahead, while the lavish hors d’oeuvres are locally-sourced from our farms and bays. Spontaneous dancing on the grass is encouraged…music by DJ Twilo will feature Joni Mitchell, the Beach Boys, the Beatles, and Jefferson Airplane, among other 60's and 70's hits.

A curated silent auction offers the essentials of life in the Hamptons, like a cocktail cruise on a wooden sailboat, just-found antique treasures, bountiful baskets of organic produce, and delicious Hamptons restaurants' offerings. Support your Museum with a contribution and please join our festivities!

Executive Director Tom Edmonds is very excited about this year’s theme. “I know every person who comes to the Gala and was around during the 1960s will have a great time. Having cocktails, eating delicious foods and watching the sunset - while listening to the great music of that era - will put everyone in a state of joy.”

The Thomas Halsey Homestead is located 249 South Main Street in Southampton. Tickets are $150 each for adults in advance and $200 each on July 7. Special prices for young people include $50 for those age 16 to 30 years old and $20 for children 15 and under. To order tickets call the museum at 631 283-2494 or use PayPal at southamptonhistory.org

THE AMAZING KRESKIN @ THE WELLMONT THEATER

The Amazing Kreskin On Jimmy Fallon

“Astounding.” “Flabbergasting.” “Incredible.”

These are just some of the adjectives guaranteed to be flying around when THE AMAZING KRESKIN, the world’s foremost mentalist, returns to his native Montlair, NJ, for a rare autograph show appearance at the StrangeXchange at the Wellmont Theater, following his mind-blowing off-Broadway run this spring.

THE AMAZING KRESKIN appears Saturday, June 16, from 11am to 5pm as the "very special guest" of STRANGEXCHANGE: DADS & GRADS EDITION, at the Wellmont Theater, 5 Seymour St Montclair , NJ 07042, to meet, greet, sign autographs and take pictures with generations of fans while over 45 vendors sell unique, unusual and "amazing" items at this unique pop-up flea market! The StrangeXchange is fun for the entire family! Tickets are just $5 in advance and can also be purchased at the box office on the day of the event or online at www.wellmonttheater.com.

His recent sold-out off-Broadway show, The Amazing Kreskin Live, showcased the legendary mentalist’s you-gotta-see-‘em-to-believe-‘em abilities as a reader of people’s thoughts which have mesmerized — and yes, amazed — fans of all ages around the world for some six decades. They marvel as Kreskin ascertains the suit and value of cards selected randomly by audience members. They watch in wonder as he displays his unprecedented mental powers by reciting information written in secret by those in attendance.

And, of course, Kreskin climaxes all performances with his signature piece, in which he requests that his check be hidden somewhere in the venue. If he fails to find it, he will forfeit that show’s fee.

To confirm the legitimacy of this and his other awesome feats of psychic literacy, Kreskin now offers the sum of One Million Dollars to anyone who can prove that he employs paid secret assistants, or confederates, or utilizes hidden, secret, electronic devices to accomplish his mental presentations. Not surprisingly, the bounty never has been claimed.

Kreskin counts The Amazing Kreskin Live, as just the latest among his numerous career highlights (which include late-night TV stints with Jimmy Fallon and David Letterman, as well as 88 appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and his own hit TV series, The Amazing World of Kreskin).

“I’ve spent my entire adult life travelling the world performing for presidents, kings and the elite of dozens of nations, but never have I been more excited about an engagement than this one,” says Kreskin. “To have the opportunity to perform for New York audiences on an extended basis is one of the great honors and privileges of my career.”

THE AMAZING KRESKIN

JOSH DUHAMEL & EIZA GONZALEZ HAVE DINNER DATE

Josh Duhamel

E! NEWS -- Josh Duhamel and Baby Driver actress Eiza González were recently photographed together for the first time, on what appeared to be a dinner date, following months of romance rumors.

The two had first sparked speculating they were dating in February, about five months after the actor and Fergie announced they had split after eight years of marriage. Duhamel, 45, and González, 28, have not commented on the nature of their relationship.

They were photographed outside the Japanese restaurant Matsuhisa Beverly Hills on Friday. González wore a red pantsuit with a black top. An eyewitness told E! News exclusively that the two had dinner there and then left in Duhamel's truck.

"Josh was trying his best to stay under the radar, but Eiza had her hand on his waist and a big smile on her face," the eyewitness said.

On Saturday morning, the two went out for breakfast, the eyewitness said, adding, "Josh was wearing the same clothes that he wore to dinner the night before. They sat across from each other and talked intimately. They both wore baseball caps and were leaning across the table talking. Josh paid for breakfast and they left again in his truck."
