BELOVED COMEDIAN BILL COSBY ON TV LAND

Bill Cosby

Beloved comedian Bill Cosby comes to TV Land with his latest standup special, “Bill Cosby: Far From Finished,” on Sunday, December 1st at 10pm ET/PT. The special marks Cosby’s first full-length stand up program in over three decades. In typical Cosby form, he gives his hilarious point of view on topics he knows well, such as relationships, marriage and of course, children.

To get fans excited for this highly anticipated event, TV Land will air a marathon of “The Cosby Show” featuring Cosby’s own top ten favorite episodes beginning at 5pm ET/PT on December 1st.

The marathon kicks off with a Thanksgiving episode, titled “Cliff’s Wet Adventure,” where Denise impulsively invites Martin’s ex-wife Paula to join Thanksgiving dinner, while Cliff finishes the family’s grocery shopping in the pouring rain. This episode will be followed by other Cosby favorites such as “There Is Still No Joy in Mudville,” “Denise’s Decision,” “The March,” “Off to the Races,” “Say Hello to a Good Buy,” “A Touch of Wonder,” “The Juicer,” and “Pilot.” The marathon will close with “Happy Anniversary,” with the classic lip-sync rendition of Ray Charles’ classic, “Night Time Is the Right Time,” featuring the whole Huxtable family.

KIRSTIE ALLEY'S NEW HIT TELEVISION SHOW

****
TELEVISION LEGENDS
****

Kirstie Alley And Chris McDonald

Get cozy with TV Land this winter! TV Land’s newest original sitcom, “Kirstie,” starring Kirstie Alley, premieres in an extra special way on Wednesday, December 4th at 10pm ET/PT with TWO episodes. The all-star cast of “Kirstie” includes Alley’s former “Cheers” co-star Rhea Perlman, Michael Richards of “Seinfeld” fame and Broadway actor Eric Petersen.

In the premiere episode of “Kirstie” at 10pm, Broadway diva Madison “Maddie” Banks (Alley) panics when Arlo (Petersen), the son she gave up for adoption at birth, suddenly shows up hoping to connect after his adoptive parents have died. Though she initially tries to dismiss him, her BFF/assistant Thelma (Perlman) and driver Frank (Richards) convince Maddie to embrace her motherly side and bring Arlo into her world. In the second new episode of the night at 10:30pm, Maddie finds herself competing with a ghost when Arlo moves in and constantly talks about his adoptive mother. On top of the pressure of trying to be a good mom, Maddie also must deal with the relentless manipulative gibes from her understudy, guest star Kristin Chenoweth. Also stopping by “Kirstie” this season are guest stars John Travolta, Jason Alexander, Kathy Griffin, Cloris Leachman, George Wendt and TV Land’s own Kristen Johnston, star of “The Exes.”

Then, the following week on Wednesday, December 11th at 10:30pm ET/PT, don’t miss the return of “The Exes,” starring Wayne Knight, Donald Faison, David Alan Basche, Kelly Stables and Kristen Johnston. Last we left the gang in the summer finale, Phil (Faison) and Eden (Stables) realized that they were more interested in dating than remaining “friends with benefits,” while the rest of the gang was surprised to find out that anything was going on between them at all. In the premiere, the tension in the group comes to a head when Eden lets it slip that she may have “faked it” a few times with Phil.

TV LAND WORKS ON NEW DARREN STAR PROJECT

Darren Star

TV Land has fast-tracked a project to be written by writer, producer and creator Darren Star, it was announced by Keith Cox, Executive Vice President of Development and Original Programming for the network. This single camera comedy, which is based on the novel “Younger” by Pamela Redmond Satran, will follow the story of a suddenly-single New Jersey housewife and mother in her early 40s who, unable to restart her career, decides to lie about her age and successfully passes herself off as a twentysomething. Armed with a makeover and new resume, she wins a coveted position at the city’s hottest publishing company. Pretending to be "younger” doesn’t hurt in the bar scene, either, as guys line up like never before.

“Darren has brought to life some of the most dynamic and indelible characters on television today,” said Cox. “We are beyond excited to work with him. Between ‘Sex and the City,’ ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ and ‘Melrose Place,’ he has created some of the most iconic and beloved shows in the history of television.” Darren Star and the book are represented by UTA.

MARY TYLER MOORE CAST ON HOT IN CLEVELAND

****
TELEVISION LEGENDS RE-UNITED
****

Cloris Leachman

Mary Tyler Moore
TV Land announced that the ladies of “Hot in Cleveland” will soon be getting some special visitors in town as Mary Tyler Moore, Valerie Harper and Cloris Leachman reunite with their co-star of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” Betty White. In the episode, Elka (Betty White) and Mamie Sue (Georgia Engel) decide to get their bowling team back together, aptly named GLOB: the Gorgeous Ladies of Bowling. The team, which includes Elka, Mamie Sue, Diane (Moore), Peg (Leachman) and Angie (Harper), had a falling out decades ago after their championship season went to their heads. This is the first time in over 30 years that the five former castmates will be reunited on the sitcom stage. Mary Tyler Moore previously appeared on “Hot in Cleveland” as Elka’s cellmate in a season two episode. Shows like ‘Hot in Cleveland,’ which stars four women, would not be here today without ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ and its incredible female-led cast,” said Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land. “Mary, Valerie, Cloris, Georgia and of course our Betty were all pioneers for women in television.”

TV Land’s hit sitcom “Hot in Cleveland” returns for its summer season with a LIVE episode on Wednesday, June 19 at 10pm ET. The west coast will receive the live-to-tape version three hours later at 10pm PT. The series, which was just picked up for a fifth season, stars television favorites Valerie Bertinelli (“One Day at a Time,”), Jane Leeves (“Frasier”), Wendie Malick (“Just Shoot Me!”) and Betty White (“The Golden Girls”).

“The Mary Tyler Moore Show” centered around Mary Richards (Mary Tyler Moore), an ambitious, young and single assistant producer, and her career at the fictional WJM-TV News. With her best friend Rhoda Morgenstern (Valerie Harper) and resident busy-body Phyllis Lindstrom (Cloris Leachman), Mary tackled the stereotypes of being an independent working woman in what was typically a “man’s world.” The show also starred Ed Asner as Mary’s tough-love boss, station producer Lou Grant, Gavin MacLeod as cynical head news writer Murray Slaughter, and Ted Knight as the dim-witted anchorman Ted Baxter. Moore’s company, MTM Enterprises, produced the series for CBS.

TV LAND'S NEW HIT SERIES 'FOREVER YOUNG'

****
TELEVISION

The Forever Young Cast

Two generations collide on the most unexpected spring break ever on “Forever Young,” TV Land’s new half-hour unscripted series. The six-episode series seeks to discover what happens when two different generations – five “juniors” under the age of 30 and five “seniors” over age 70 – brave the challenge of living together in the same house. “Forever Young” is from Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg’s Katalyst (“Punk’d,” “Beauty and the Geek”) and Eyeworks USA, headed by Executive Producers JD Roth and Todd A. Nelson (“Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition”), and will premiere with two back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, April 3rd at 10pm ET/PT.

“As TV Land continues to produce original series, we are broadening our horizons and looking at both scripted and unscripted shows,” said TV Land President Larry W. Jones. “‘Forever Young’ is the perfect example of what TV Land values in its original programming: an intriguing concept with humor and heart at its core.”

“Forever Young” chronicles five seniors – Lou, Emileen, Eugene, Shirley and Arthur – and five “juniors” – Mike, Christian, Andree, Sam and Angelina – as they embark on a journey to try to identify with the other generation. Teaching seniors how to master the techniques of beer pong and explaining to juniors that you can’t zoom in on a paper map may be more difficult than originally thought. Will the generation gap prove too big to cross with attitudes like “I can’t learn anything from you” flowing freely in the house?
