Hotel Vernet Paris

Restaurant "V"
Vernet was a painter who specialized in producing paintings of the sea. He brought them back to Paris from Rome, where he was an integral piece of the social fabric and well known to the circle of aristocrats in the Grand Tour of the 18th Century; an older version of what today we would refer to as “the Jet-Set.” Hotel Vernet, a luxury boutique property located on a secluded street just off the Champs-Elysees, and a three minute walk from the venerable Four Seasons Hotel George V, draws on the spirit of Vernet. With its stunning décor, Hotel Vernet is an aesthetically pleasing place to stay and socialize when visiting Paris. Thoroughly renovated to celebrate the building’s 100th anniversary, the Vernet is very 21st Century inside, though it still retains some of its distinguishing architectural features which make it oh-so-Parisian. Interior designer François Champsaur pays tribute to Parisian elegance and French craftsmanship with the hotel’s décor; the stand out example of this is the stained glass dome of the restaurant designed by Gustav Eiffel of Eiffel Tower fame.

The rooms and suites have been cleverly designed with an aesthetic that is truly unique. Modern touches in the form of appliances, amenities and free wireless internet access all help make the guest feel welcome in a modern space that is their home-away-from-home whilst visiting Paris.

The bar at the Hotel Vernet is a centerpiece of the social life of the hotel. It has a fabulous ceiling fresco, painted by internationally celebrated Jean-Michel Aberola, which contrasts against the dynamic carpet design created by the same artist. The bar serves classic cocktails with creative and modern execution. Try the Martini Royale Bianco or the non-alcoholic Fruits de Vernet.

Dining at the hotel’s restaurant, ‘V’, by Executive Chef Richard Robe, offers a sense of theater as its large glass window enables diners to see the kitchen in action. The menu is designed like a travel diary with the aim of creating a gastronomic journey for every visitor.

Corinthia Hotel London

Historic Corinthia
Corinthia Hotel London is a luxury hotel with a unique location. Nestled between the River Thames, The iconic structures of British government and 10 Downing Street, Trafalgar Square and the art exhibition of the National Gallery and a brisk stroll from the chic boutiques and dining of St. James’s and Mayfair. The Corinthia London’s history has an interesting historical pedigree. The establishment opened in the late 19th century with its brochure advertising its virtues which would not be lost on the modern visitor. “That the hotel’s location is particularly recommend it to ladies and families visiting the West End during the Season; to traveler’s from Paris and the Continent, arriving from Dover and Folkestone at the Charing Cross Terminus; to Officers and others attending the levees at St James; to Ladies going to the Drawing Rooms, State Balls, and Concerts at Buckingham Palace; and to colonial and American visitors unused to the great world of London.”

During the First and Second World War the hotel’s location led it to be requisitioned by the Government in order to provide extra space for administrating the conflicts. Room 474 was the first headquarters for SOE, what today is part of the Secret Intelligence Service of James Bond fame.

After the building was sold in the mid 2000s an extensive refurbishment took its history full circle - back to its roots as a luxury destination at the heart of London. The hotel today boasts a number of rooms, suites and penthouses all with Hypnos beds, Nespresso machines and a Loewe television.

Essential for recovery after a long journey to the City, leaving the room you have within the hotel a beauty salon by Daniel Galvin and an extensive multi-floor spa - ESPA Life at Corinthia.

The Northall Restaurant @ Corinthia

Dining and entertaining options abound and are all first rate experiences. Massimo Restaurant and Bar, a large open dining space with massive columns serves flawless Italian cuisine. The Northall restaurant looking forward towards the Embankment and River Thames serves Executive Head Chef Garry Hollihead’s impeccable interpretation of classic British food.

For afternoon tea or drinks the Lobby Lounge, illuminated by a custom chandelier by Baccarat is an exquisite venue. For evening drinks the more intimate Bassoon Bar offers cocktails and classic drinks in replica Queen Victoria glassware. Regular live music underscores the theme and the name of this see-and-be-seen in venue.
