LAVERNE COX FEATURED IN OCTOBER COSMOPOLITAN

Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox is featured inside the October issue of Cosmopolitan (on newsstands now). Just before she gets her diva on as the lead of the revamped Rocky Horror Picture Show (tune in October 20 on Fox), Orange Is The New Black star and trans-rights activist Laverne Cox pays tribute to her personal superheroines. Watch, learn, love.

Laverne Cox Quotes

On Beyoncé, contemporary R&B queen: “Beyoncé represents excellence. Her work ethic is like nobody else I’ve ever seen. There were so many moments when I was shooting Rocky Horror and I’d be exhausted. My body would be hurting and I’d be like, ‘Beyoncé. Beyoncé does this.’ You have to just put in the work.”

On Tina Turner, rock & roll legend: “The pain, pleasure, and agony of all she’s been through is in her voice. Her story is the story of so many black women who’ve endured abuse and come out the other side in such a brilliant, beautiful way. ”

On Tracey Africa, trailblazing model: “She was a black trans woman who modeled in the ’70s and had cosmetics deals and a hair contract with Clairol—it was a big deal. People think, ‘Oh, this trans revolution is just starting,’ but we’ve been around for a very long time. It’s important to know that there’s been a path blazed for me.”

CAITLYN JENNER'S QUIET FAMILY NEW YEARS EVE

Caitlyn Jenner

Tune in to E! News tonight at 7 and 11 for more of our exclusive interview with Caitlyn Jenner.

"I was with the family," the I Am Cait star told E! News last night at a screening of Tangerine in L.A. "I went over to Kylie's for awhile, spent some time there, and then Kourtney right up the street was having a party. It was very quick, easy. I was out of their by 9 o'clock and went home and went to bed."

And yes, she saw her grandson Saint West. "He was upstairs sleeping," Jenner said.

Asked who Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's little one resembles, Jenner (who looked fab in black pants and a lacy top) cracked, "He doesn't look like me."

Jenner also opened up about what she was hoping to see for the transgender community in 2016.

"I want to see more understanding," she said. "I want to see the whole movement move forward. Jobs are a huge issue. Just getting proper ID, gender markers, is a major issue...All of these things are big issues in the community. There's a lot of homelessness. The list goes on and on and on."

Tangerine tells the story of two trans sex workers on Christmas Eve in Hollywood. Jenner said she hosted the screening because "it's really important" that trans people support each other. "We need to tell these stories."

BRUCE JENNER COMES OUT AS A TRANSGENDER GAL

Linda Thompson

The Huffington Post is the exclusive outlet for a compelling blog written by Linda Thompson, former wife of Bruce Jenner.

Below is part of the piece and a link to the full post.

There is also a additional piece written by Cavan Sieczkowski, HuffPost's Senior Trends Editor, on Bruce Jenner's interview with Diane Sawyer.

By now, Bruce Jenner has revealed his struggle with gender dysphoria.

I never would have dared to speak on this issue before he was comfortable enough to do so first. It is, after all, his truth, so I knew he should be afforded the dignity to reveal that truth on his own time and in the way he sees fit.

I have respectfully kept his secrets private and would have taken his confidences to my grave had he not spoken out.

But now, many years into his remarkable life, he has spoken out. His legacy will likely be sprinkled with references like "Olympian," "decathlon gold medalist," "world's greatest athlete," "son," "brother," "husband," "father," "grandfather," "friend," and, hopefully, "pioneer" and "trailblazer for the civil rights of the transgender community."

BRADY BUNCH BARRY WILLIAMS TRANSGENDER REALITY

Barry Williams

In a recent HuffPost Live interview, "Brady Bunch" star Barry Williams put his foot in his mouth in a big way when he suggested he might consider "going transgender" to garner publicity for himself and his reality show.

Barry Williams: "That guy [Bruce Jenner] is committed. He is committed to promoting himself. And I'm thinking, maybe, I don't know, I could say -- I'm just saying, if this thing doesn't work, and the series isn't doing as well as I want, I'm going transgender."

When host Ricky Camilleri reminded him that transitioning is a "difficult emotional process," Williams continued to make light of it.

Barry Williams: I'm an actor, I can handle it."

Hey, all joking aside, Barry is a great father and a nice guy. Can't the Huffington Post take a joke?
