Kate Upton

E-NEWS -- Kate Upton has a message for young girls who see her on the cover of the 2017 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

The model wears two skimpy bikinis and a barely-there monokini on three separate covers, marking the third time she has graced the cover of the annual publication.

"It means so much to set an example in body image even though through my life I have to figure it out for myself and I think that something that's very important for me to tell young girls is, 'You know, you don't have to aim to be like me but aim to be like yourself because what makes us different is what makes us, us,'" Upton told E! News exclusively.

Upton last graced the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 2013 and 2012. She said that she trained differently for her current covers, doing more weight training.

"It was all about being strong and being strong for my lifestyle, not for fitting in a certain dress size, and finding my perfect body for myself—'perfect' meaning, not actually perfect, but perfect that I can actually keep up with it and enjoy working out and eating healthy and then also really enjoy those cheat days!" she said, laughing.

Upton will later be taking part in fittings for a different type of outfit—a wedding dress! She and MLB star Justin Verlander got engaged in 2016. They have not set a wedding date and Upton told E! News they have also not started planning for the big day due to their busy schedules.

"I don't really know what kind of wedding we want yet," she added. "But it will definitely be unique to our relationship."

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model

Singapore has been referred to as sophisticated, straight-laced, economically superior, well educated and eco-friendly -- but until now it has never been called “sexy.” With the release of the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, that’s all about to change.

For the first time in more than four decades, Singapore was selected as a location for the coveted Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2011 issue. Four international models – Shannan Click, Kenza Fourati, Izabel Goulart and Damaris Lewis – traveled to Singapore in August for the 10-day shoot. Click, Fourati and Goulart are making their SI debut along with Singapore this year.

Singapore is an unusual pick for the swimsuit feature which traditionally takes place on beach destinations and not in urban settings. The 13-page SI spread shows the island nation’s diverse offerings, from its modernity around Marina Bay downtown to its lush greenery of Sentosa and its rich cultural history in Chinatown.

“The buildings are so modern and so beautiful and at the same time there is a lot of green everywhere,” said Izabel Goulart, “It’s a perfect place for our photo shoot.” Added Shannan Click, “It’s so interesting. I’ve never seen a city like this before. Definitely a fun city.” Kenza Fourati enjoyed discovering a new culture. “The people are very nice too,” she noted. SI Swimsuit Editor Diane Smith described Singapore and her stay at the six-star Capella Hotel designed by Norman Foster as “amazing, gorgeous, fantastic.” And the SI crew’s favorite snack among all of their travels worldwide? The dumplings in Singapore.

So what do supermodels and Singapore have in common? A very sexy image. To view the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2011 issue online go to

The magazine feature comes amid growing international attention on Singapore being a cool city with good food, exciting nightlife and a breathtaking skyline. Last year, it was featured in popular TV shows such as The Amazing Race, Top Chef and The Martha Stewart Show. Other publications are also sitting up and taking notice of Singapore – with CNNgo awarding Singapore the second coolest nation and Conde Nast Traveler naming Singapore as “The Eater” destination for 2011.

Matthew Knowles And Daughter Beyonce

Beyoncé Knowles' father refused to watch her pose in a skimpy bikini for Sports Illustrated magazine. The singer - who was terrified about appearing on the cover of the magazine's famous annual swimsuit issue - has revealed her father Matthew, who is also her manager, couldn't bear to see her pose in revealing beachwear. Beyoncé said: "Kelly Rowland showed up. My mom was there, so was my nephew. Dad was going to come, but he said, 'Well, I'll meet you in Orlando aftert he shoot. I'm not so sure that I want to see this. All my blessings -you're a big girl. But I'm not so sure I want to see it.' "Beyoncé - who is following in the footsteps of Elle Macpherson, Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks by posing in a swimsuit for the magazine - embarked on a strict diet to prepare for the shoot. She said: "I had to watch what I ate, which was tough because the shoot was right after Thanksgiving. At dinner, I kept thinking, 'This extra piece of pie will show up.'"I always make sure I celebrate it up, but I was so terrified with every little thing I ate this year."The shoot took a lot of guts. I'm a really shy person. Everyday I play a character and I had to tap into that."The 25-year-old singer-and-actress is proud of the photographs and can't wait to show them to her children - when she has them. Beyoncé said: "These are photographs I can show my kids some day. I can say,'See, momma was beautiful. Look how good I looked!' "
