SAMUEL WAXMAN CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION KIDS CANCEL CANCER HAMPTONS EVENT

  Marion Waxman And Dr Samuel Waxman The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) held the 4th Annual Kids Cancel Cancer, a unique fundraiser created by kids for kids, at The Clubhouse in East Hampton. This fun-filled evening featured delicious food, arcade games, miniature golf, exciting live and silent auctions, and more — all to raise critical funds for pediatric cancer research, which on the day were matched dollar for dollar by the Mark Foundation for Cancer Research. Since its inception, Kids Cancel Cancer has empowered young people to become philanthropists and advocates for change. The 2025 event raised nearly $100,000 (not counting the one-for-one match by the Mark Foundation), directly supporting the work of four groundbreaking investigators focused on childhood cancers.   Marion Waxman With Dr. Samuel Waxman And Kobi Halperin Jean Shafiroff Fashion met philanthropy this summer in the Hamptons with renowned fashion designer Kobi Halperin for a special evening of wine, music, fashion, and support for the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation at The Hub’s newly opened location in Bridgehampton.  As a longtime supporter of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF), Kobi Halperin generously donated 15% of all opening weekend sales to the Foundation. The fundraising event featured a live, thrilling fashion show by legendary designer, Josie Natori, showcasing the Spring 2024 collection. This year’s honoree was Barney Cohen, Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. More than 80 participants persevered through thunderstorms to raise more than $200,000 in support of SWCRF cancer research initiatives such as the Institute Without WallsTM, the International Network for Aging and Cancer Research, and the SWCRF Women’s Cancer Research Program. Together, these programs are funding more than 60 scientists across the United States and around the world.  Over the last 20 years, scientific advancements have led to a decrease in cancer mortality by nearly 30 percent.   Samuel Waxman The Tisch Cancer Institute (TCI) at Mount Sinai and the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) are launching a unique research program that will fund collaborations between TCI physician-scientists and colleagues from other established cancer research institutions to address the rising rates of cancer due to aging around the world. The partnership will enhance the impact of both TCI and SWCRF through cross-institutional, cutting-edge research on abnormal gene function that causes cancer in order to uncover the link between aging and cancer and identify targeted therapies. Both organizations will contribute equally to this pivotal, two-year, $1 million research program.
