The sumptuous dinner was prepared by Executive Chef of the award-winning Rosewood Mayakoba, Juan Pablo Loza, along with Union Cantina’s Executive Chef Scott Kampf. Guests were treated to an extraordinary 8 course authentic Mayan tasting menu, replicating a dining experience that is exclusive to guests of Rosewood Mayakoba resort, located in the idyllic Riviera Maya. The event was coordinated by the leading Sroka Worldwide marketing team, headed by industry veteran and company founder Neal Sroka.

LAVERNE COX DINES AT NEW YORK'S BEAUTY & ESSEX

Laverne Cox was spotted last night at Beauty & Essex dining with a group of friends. The group arrived at 8:30pm and from the second they walked into the door, they were incredibly friendly with every person they encountered. Cox wore a purple shift dress with black flats. One friend wore black maxi dress, another wore a white mini dress, and another was wearing a black tank with jeans.



They were avoiding carbs and sugar and chose to order all of our seafood heavy dishes including Beauty & Essex favorites such as the Seared Tuna and the Grilled Salmon.



They weren't drinking, but were happy to make an exception for some admirers sitting at the table next to them who sent them lemon drops. They were not shy at all about the extra attention and quickly became friends with the neighboring table and included them in their "girl talk" for the rest of the evening. They were very friendly with the entire staff, making sure to get their servers name as soon as they sat down.



They stayed for several hours chatting the night away and were one of the last tables to leave.

Bar 9 (www.bar9ny.com) owners Steven and Michael Padernacht are born and raised New Yorkers who grew up in the Bronx and now consider their atmospheric club in Hell’s Kitchen their home. “I know it may seem cliché,” Steven says, “but we truly have a Cheers type environment here.”



There’s a reason why patrons of the local and international variety both flock to Bar 9, a NYC staple for over 15 years. “People don’t think that live music and Hell’s Kitchen go together – but we have it right here, every night.” Steven considers Friday and Saturday nights to be the busiest as each week legendary Donnie Kehr (who most recently starred as Norm Waxman in the Clint Eastwood-movie adaptation of the play Jersey Boys) hosts the famed Dueling Pianos event, which just recently finished a successful run in Las Vegas but has now returned home to New York.

Juniper Bar, the newest upscale bar and restaurant to descend upon New York’s Midtown West, has introduced a new spicy burger that will leave the city’s most hard-core heat-seekers trembling and begging for mercy. Juniper’s Fire Breathing Burger isn’t for the faint hearted. Packed full with one of the world’s hottest peppers, the Ghost Pepper, along with Sriracha aioli and spicy pepper jack cheese, the Fire Breathing Burger may well be a new contender for the title of New York’s Spiciest Burger. Ghost Peppers, otherwise known as Bhut Jolokia, clocks in at over one million on the Scoville Spiciness Scale. That’s an eye-popping 900.5 times hotter than Tabasco Sauce or 400 times hotter than a medium chili pepper. It’s so spicy it has become a something of a legend in chili pepper eating dares, with many popular YouTubers putting their stomachs, and their manliness, to the ultimate test.



Combine this with the Fire Breathing Burger’s double whammy of Sriracha Aioli and Pepper Jack Cheese, which includes spicy hot peppers for an extra kick, and you’ve got yourself a burger so spicy you’ll have watering eyes and a tingling nose even at the thought of eating it. Using Pat LaFrieda American Black Angus Beef, the burger is served on a brioche bun with the choice of hand cut fries or mixed greens. Juniper’s Burger Menu also features a Tuna Burger ($17) with freshly diced sushi-grade tuna, ‘The Big Blue’ Burger ($18) with Applewood smoked bacon, tempura onion rings, homemade blue cheese dressing and cheddar, and the ‘Thai Style’ ($18) with avocado, papaya, watercress, and spicy chili glaze. Juniper has a full menu of enticing wraps and sandwiches, shared plates, sliders, salads and entrees.



If you’re a true chili head, Juniper Bar’s Fire Breathing Burger is not to be missed.

THE MOMS, Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein, hosted a Mamarazzi® Lunch Event with Television Producer, Host and celebrity parent Melissa Rivers yesterday at Juniper Bar in New York City. The event brought together influential moms and media to celebrate Melissa’s new book, The Book of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief, And Manipulation, offering a behind the scenes look at one of the most celebrated mother-daughter relationships.



Guests at the event, hosted in conjunction with Chevy Tri-State, were treated to a sampling of delicious menu items from the newly-opened Juniper Bar in the exclusive downstairs VIP lounge.



Guests gathered around as Melissa Rivers discussed life growing up and her deep, personal bond with her mother, larger-than-life Comedian the late Joan Rivers – the subject of her new book The Book of Joan. She told the captive audience that, “Our mother-daughter relationship was so real. Everyone saw a bit of themselves in our relationship.”



She shared anecdotes of unique moments with her mother, including when immediately after her son Cooper was born, her mother took off and ran away with him quipping, “He was her favorite accessory.”



After the documentary Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work came out in 2010, the world became aware of how hard Joan worked in her day-to-day life, with rarely a day taken off. Melissa told the audience that she her mom’s work ethic was something normal until around 7 years ago, when she told her mom she was tired. It took reassurance from Joan and a step back to realize that her mother was no ordinary workaholic and had energy unlike any other person she knew.



Melissa, like her mother, has worked incredibly hard to achieve success in the entertainment industry. In fact, she found that to succeed in the entertainment industry as the daughter of a famous parent, she has had to work extremely hard to reach the point where she is today.



“You may get the interview, but you may not get the job. If you get the job, you have to work ten times harder to prove yourself because people are going to think you got the job because of who you know,” she said.



During the Mamarazzi town-hall, Denise Albert’s mother stood up and told the audience about one time when she was in the waiting room at the pediatrician’s office when Denise and her brother were kids and in ran Joan carrying infant Melissa wearing a bathrobe.



To conclude, Melissa told the crowd gathered that her mother imparted an important saying that will stick with her forever. “She always said that this too shall pass. When things are good and bad, appreciate it or know you’re going to get through it because it doesn’t last.”

The 33rd Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards were announced by New York Post Theater Critic Michael Riedel at Villagio on the Park restaurant.

Each year since the inception of the awards in 1982, The Fred and Adele Astaire Awards honor outstanding achievement in dance and on the Broadway stage. The mission of the Awards is to honor individual dancers and choreographers for their dedication, passion and artistic vision that they bring to their performances. Festivities started with Astaire Awards Director Patricia Watt welcoming everyone to the party sharing that for the first time ever, all nominees have received a certificate celebrating their nomination. Lauren Penn then spoke and thanked Watt for everything she has done to bring dance back into the forefront of Broadway. Event emcee New York Post Theater Critic Michael Riedel started the night by sharing his admiration for all the dancers before announcing all nominees to the assembled crowd.

GORDON RAMSAY PUB & GRILL OPENS IN ATLANTIC CITY

Gordon Ramsay and Caesars Entertainment announced that Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill opened at Caesars Atlantic City, yesterday. The 250-seat restaurant will offer an authentic English pub experience on the East Coast, following the enormous success of his Pub & Grill at Caesars Las Vegas. Reservations, which are highly recommended, can be made online at opentable.com or by calling the Pub directly at (609) 343-2600.



“We’re really excited about the opening after such a great success in Vegas. We have an amazing team and partnership with Caesars,” said Gordon Ramsay, and we’re looking forward to bringing it to the East Coast.



Veteran gourmet chef and long-time Atlantic City culinarian George Galati will oversee all kitchen operations for the outlet. Best known for his co-starring role alongside Chef Robert Irvine in Dinner: Impossible on the Food Network, Galati adds nearly 30 years of gourmet experience to an already well-equipped culinary staff.



Hell’s Kitchen Season 13 winner, Chef La Tasha McCutchen has been tapped as head restaurant chef, under Chef George. A fan-favorite throughout Season 13, Chef LaTasha showed signs of her skill and culinary talents very early on, winning Chef Ramsay’s praise at crucial times. “I feel like I opened the doors to my future. I trusted in myself, I believed in myself and I know now that I have what it takes to be a true leader in this industry,” said McCutchen on winning the competition.



The menu at Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill at Caesars features items consistent with British pub fare. Classic British favorites such as, bangers and mash and yorkshire rib roast, as well as some of Ramsay’s favorites like the beef wellington and wood-grilled lobster tail prepared on an oak-fired grill, will all be part of a rustic menu that will change seasonally. Paying homage to a true English pub, Chef Ramsay made sure a steak & ale pie, sticky toffee pudding and of course, the ale-battered fish & chips were included on his menu in Atlantic City.

Santa Claus made a surprise visit to Rick's Cabaret New York, the upscale gentlemen’s club known for its stunning array of over 100 exotic dancers daily. He said that he could only stay for a few lap dances because he still had much work to do at the North Pole.


Rick's Cabaret Girl Veronica said, "He looked very familiar. I think it was really Ronnie the Limo Driver from the Howard Stern Show wearing a Santa costume. In fact, I'm sure of it, but I don't want to disillusion the other girls."


"Ronnie, I mean Santa, enjoyed dinner with some friends in the Rick's Cabaret Steakhouse on the 2nd floor, and then they went to the VIP Balcony Lounge, seated right next to a group of athletes, and everyone got tons of dances from the girls," explained Rick's Cabaret Girl Jessica.


"Santa asked me if I was naughty or nice," purred Rick's Cabaret Girl Kylie. "I told him that I was naughty and he smiled and whispered in my ear that he would bring me something big for Christmas."

Paul Hurley, Former president of the United Restaurant and Tavern Owners Association was joined by bar owners and chefs of the Tri-State area at O’Casey’s Restaurant and Irish Pub (22 East 41st Street, NY 10017) to unveil the nation’s only 100-proof turkey, made with Georgi flavored Vodka. There will be free car service to anyone who dines on Turkey at O'Casey's Thanksgiving day in the Manhattan area.


The turkey, which takes three days to prepare, is infused with five different flavors of Georgi Vodka: peach, cherry, orange, lemon and apple. The gravy contains 100-proof Vodka. These Vodka-soaked turkeys will be made available all over the country, and the recipe will be posted in liquor stores across the nation to boost Thanksgiving sales of spirits. Last year, the 100-proof turkey was prepared in one tavern and sold out. This year, the bird will be back for the holiday and served at over 100 pubs and taverns in New York City.



Thanksgiving Eve is one of the busiest nights of the year for bars, with people getting a jump on celebrating the upcoming four-day weekend. In order to promote safety and well-being while having fun.



The United Restaurant and Tavern Owners Association is New York City’s largest and oldest hospitality organization, representing over 3,000 bars and restaurants in the Tri-State Area.

On Saturday night actor Brenton Thwaites celebrated his 25th birthday at TAO Downtown. The actor arrived around 9:00 pm with family and friends, which included Nate Buzolic from Vampire Diaries. Brenton was dressed casually wearing a hat with a jean jacket and jean pants.



After dinner the group headed over to the nightclub to continue the birthday celebration.

Friday evening, Instagram sensation Jen Selter celebrated her 21st birthday at TAO. Starting off the night with dinner at TAO Asian Bistro with friends, the fitness model enjoyed a few of the restaurant’s signature dishes including Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass and assorted sushi.



After dinner, the party continued upstairs at TAO Nightclub as the birthday girl took over a VIP table on the dance floor. Shortly after arriving, Selter was surprised with a custom three tier birthday cake and a special appearance from TAO’s mirror man. She spent the rest of her night celebrating and dancing with her friends to the sounds of Breathe Carolina.
