SINGING QUEEN ADAM LAMBERT'S UNFORESEEN SHOW

**** THE GLORIOUS CORNER Story By: G. H. HARDING **** Queen With Adam Lambert QUEEN LAMBERT --- Last week fans in Brussels were gearing up to see Queen + Adam Lambert, but as the show was approaching, the organizers suddenly came out with an announcement that they had to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances.  According to our insider in Brussels, the problem specifically was that Lambert was suffering from a severe case of bronchitis, preventing him from giving any performance. The singer’s condition was apparently caused by the last concert he performed with Queen in Frankfurt, Germany, where the singer reportedly really did give a lot of himself to the public – but it was apparently a bit too much, as his throat suffered severely from the whole ordeal and he had to cancel his plans for concerts in the near future. Reports reveal that his condition was actually so bad; he had to receive medical attention shortly after the...

QUEENS ROGER TAYLOR ON ADAM LAMBERT'S TALENT

Image
**** THE GLORIOUS CORNER Story By: G.H. Harding **** Adam Lambert LAMBERT QUEEN COLLABORATION? --- Queen drummer Roger Taylor in an exclusive interview praised their new front man Adam Lambert as the greatest. Taylor admitted that bringing Adam into the band as their vocalist was a great move and that it helped when they all got on so well when they traveled together. Seems the American Idol-man was a natural fit with the older stars, despite being decades younger than the legends. “He fit in so well with us and he brought so much to the show.” Taylor explained “He’s a great front man and he looks great and he sings beautifully, and his style is very suited to our music. You know, it’s pretty theatrical music, some of our stuff. He’s the greatest.” Taylor continued: “It was a really great experience and I’m thrilled. We're going to go on and do Europe in January and February. It’s all good.” What about Lambert recording new m...

**** THE GLORIOUS CORNER Story By: G. H. HARDING **** Anthony Hopkins MONSTER MASH --- Writers Alex Kurtzman and writer Chris Morgan have been tapped to reboot Universal’s classic monster movie franchises. Before the Fast and the Furious, Jurassic Park and the Bourne franchises became what Universal was known for, they had a Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, The Mummy, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man and Bride of Frankenstein. Now the studio is committing to rebooting these franchises. Kurtzman has been part of the Transformers, Star Trek and Amazing Spider-Man franchises while Morgan has been the writing force behind Universal’s more reliable franchise, The Fast and the Furious. Universal has tapped into these characters over the years for movies like Van Helsing, The Mummy, The Wolfman and the upcoming Dracula Untold, but this is the first time they’ve tried to revive all of the characters in a cohesive, connected wo...

ADAM LAMBERT & QUEEN HIT THE ROAD FOR SUMMER

Image
**** THE GLORIOUS CORNER Story By: G. H. HARDING **** Adam Lambert QUEEN ADAM --- Queen and Adam Lambert are getting ready to hit the road for a summer tour that kicks off tomorrow, June 19th in Chicago, but first they made a stop at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles Monday night to give fans a preview of what promises to be an epic tour. The rock icons and American Idol alum brought down the house with favorites like "We Will Rock You," "Under Pressure" and "We Are The Champions," but it was their live rendition of Freddie Mercury's obscure solo song, "Love Kills," that got people talking. It was the first time Queen has ever performed the track, which was the first song Mercury recorded as a solo artist (but never performed live). The song was originally a solo recording produced by Giorgio Moroder for the soundtrack to the 1984 re-release of the 1927 film Metropolis. "We're going to do it in o...

**** THE GLORIOUS CORNER Story By: G. H. HARDING **** Maria Menounos Adios Maria --- Maria Menounos is leaving her post as Extra co-host after two years. "Maria was 100 percent not fired," an inside source told us. "The truth is, she decided months ago on her own to explore other options, as she knew her contract was coming up for renewal. She made this decision on her own." Among her other options, the television personality recently debuted her new Oxygen realty series, Chasing Maria Menounos, which focuses on her life living with both her longtime boyfriend, Keven Undergaro, and her Greek parents. Contrary to rumors the 35-year-old was clashing with Extra co-host Mario Lopez, Menounos is said to be making the move on her own accord. "There is no bad energy," the source continued. "Maria has so much going on with her reality show, and she's happy that she has so many options to explore right ...

ADAM LAMBERT & QUEEN ANNOUNCE AMERICAN TOUR

Image
**** THE GLORIOUS CORNER Story By: G.H. Harding **** Adam Lambert SIMON & STING --- When Paul Simon announced last year he was touring with Sting, anticipation ran exceptionally high; as both Simon and Sting are artists of the highest caliber. Last night’s final show at NYC’s Madison Square Garden was spot-on excellent in almost every way. The two sauntered onstage with both their respective bands in tow (almost 17 musicians onstage!) and began the show with Sting’s “Brand New Day” and Simon’s “Boy in the Bubble.” Simon welcomed the audience to their little experiment. At first, there are so many musicians onstage that’s it’s all a bit hard to take in; but, soon you settle in and it all makes sense. Sting’s “Fields of Gold,” Simon’s “Mother and Child Reunion” and a brilliant-performance of Simon’s classic “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover,” followed. Simon’s sax player did a brilliant solo mid-song; it was good, but made me remember the late-Michael Becker...

**** THE GLORIOUS CORNER Story By: G. H. HARDING **** Jared Leto OSCAR NOTES --- Voting for the 86th Annual Academy Awards closed Tuesday at 5 PM PST. The show is this Sunday (with L.A. under a heavy rain alert too!) with hostess Ellen DeGeneres. One of the best prognosticators in the industry, Deadline’ Pete Hammond, had these most prescient thoughts: Jennifer Lawrence “With no real clarity from the usually reliable guild contests and critics’ awards, the best picture race is one of the most unpredictable in years. Considering the preferential Oscar voting system, it is not probable there will be a winner on the first ballot because it’s unlikely any film in this great year for films will be able to muster more than 50% of the first-place votes required. The second choice on those best picture ballots could end up being the most important. The top three contenders—12 Years A Slave, American Hustle and Gravity—are in a real dog fight, which means a dar...
