Spinning Man

PIERCE BROSNAN TALKS TO HUFF POST LIVE TODAY

Ricky Camilleri And Pierce Brosnan

Actor Pierce Brosnan appeared on HuffPost Live today and shared a few funny anecdotes with host Ricky Camilleri -- first, Brosnan revealed the role he was deemed 'too handsome' to play; and also told about the time a fan used him to get close to "Halle Berry's ass."

Brosnan: "This young lad looked at me, shook my hand, and he just looked at his hand and said, 'This is the closest I'll ever get to Halle Berry's ass...

I had no qualms about it. I just thought it was a very funny line."

View thew clip HERE.

On Being 'Too Handsome' for a Role:

Brosnan: "I remember reading 'Angela's Ashes,' and I really wanted to play the part in 'Angela's Ashes,' being an Irishman. I called [author] Frank McCourt up to throw my hat in the ring, and he said, 'Nope. Too handsome. Too handsome.' You're either too short, you're too tall. You're too this, you're too that.

Again, it goes back to the judgement factor. You have to be comfortable in your own skin, and wear it lightly and just get on with the job. Be good to people, be kind to people, show up, read the lines, hit the mark and go home."

And, despite summer reports linking Jolie to the role, Brosnan admits he would prefer to have "Monster" actress Theron as his co-star. He tells People.com, "Charlize Theron is someone who I've always admired. I think she's someone who has acquitted herself grandly."Nothing against Angelina Jolie. I think she's a magnificent actress. But Charlize has a poise about her and has an inner strength and femininity which I really like to watch."

PIERCE BROSNAN FOUND OUT HE WAS NO LONGER JAMES BOND FROM REPLACEMENT DANIEL CRAIG

Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan discovered he had been dropped as James Bond by his replacement Daniel Craig. Craig, who has his first outing as the super spy in 'Casino Royale' next month, unknowingly broke the news to Brosnan at an awards ceremony.Believing the 'Die Another Day' star already knew he had been axed, Craig told Brosnan he had been offered the role and asked for advice. The 38-year-old star said: "I didn't know how much he knew about all this. But I knew if I wasn't up front with him, if I met him again, I wouldn't be able to look him in the eye."The incident occurred in February last year, when Craig found himself sitting on the same table as Brosnan at the BAFTA awards, in London.Craig told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "I said, 'Look this is a possibility, what do you think?' I don't know if I gave him much choice, but he said, 'Go for it. It's a ride.' He didn't hit me."I don't know if anyone was underhand with Pierce but I know I wasn't."Brosnan, 53, was later officially dropped by studio bosses and a short time afterwards Craig was confirmed as the new 007.Craig initially turned down the role because he felt it could become a"poisoned chalice" if he wasn't successful.Producer Barbara Broccoli refused to give up and showed Craig a rewritten script. After reading it, Craig immediately signed a three film contract.
