Nicki Minaj In Cosmo

Nicki Minaj covers the July issue of Cosmopolitan, on stands June 9. The world’s highest paid female rapper, currently on tour for her most recent album The Pinkprint, opens up to the magazine about money, breakups, and demanding an orgasm every time.

On being open about discussing money:

“Women are uncomfortable talking about money. I know it’s taboo to discuss it at work. Technically, you shouldn’t, but you need to know what people around you are making. Otherwise, you’re not going to know what you’re worth. You have to ask questions. ‘What is this person getting?’ Do your research. I’ve always been pretty competitive in terms of my pay.”

On recording The Pinkprint after a tough breakup with Safaree Samuels:

“I didn’t [set out] to write a personal album, but The Pinkprint came at a very crucial time in my life. I realized that people can up and take off at any given moment. As women, we are vulnerable and emotional, and that’s okay. I had to learn quickly that if you don’t have a sense of self, you can be destroyed by a man. You can be destroyed by a relationship. I had to ask myself, ‘Who am I? Is this good enough?’ I had to approve of myself and my skills."

On being high-maintenance in bed:

“I demand that I climax. I think women should demand that. I have a friend who’s never had an orgasm in her life. In her life! That hurts my heart. It’s cuckoo to me. We always have orgasm interventions where we, like, show her how to do stuff. We’ll straddle each other, saying, ‘You gotta get on him like that and do it like this.’ She says she’s a pleaser. I’m a pleaser, but it’s 50/50."

On where she sees herself in ten years:

“Ten years from now, I will have two children, unless my husband wants three. I will be into my fitness a lot more, I will stop yo-yo dieting, and I’ll be a housewife with careers that I can run from home. I want to be able to cook for my children, bake cookies for them, and watch them grow up. I just want to be Mommy. Take them to school, go to the parent-teacher conference, help them with their homework, and put their work on the refrigerator.”

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj isn't exactly a stranger to wearing revealing clothing. She also isn't afraid to get a little sexy during her award show appearances.

But while on the red carpet at the 2014 American Music Awards, the "Super Bass" rapper couldn't help but admit to feeling shy at some points in her career.

"Yes and people don't know that," she told E! News exclusively. "I feel shy a lot of times actually. I just push myself to go for it."

Pretty surprising answer, right? Giuliana Rancic followed up by asking the 31-year-old what scares her.

"Being away from my family and people who love me and love me the most," she shared. "So I'm going to move back to the East Coast…just to keep grounded and be around."

She added, "I want to see my baby brother grow up a little more. I think it's good for the soul."

Before the big move to the Big Apple, Minaj has a brand new album coming out that she can't help but be pumped for.

"I'm so excited. I'm so proud of it," she shared in regards to The Pinkprint, available Dec. 15. "It really shows a lot of growth. I know that my fans are really going to appreciate the subject matter on a lot of the songs."

And if Team Minaj thinks this is the last album we'll see from the rapper, think again! Although rumors have been swirling that she's going to take a break from music after this disc, Minaj gladly set the record straight Sunday night.

"I said it after the fifth album," she clarified. "I'm only about to put out the third album so that's a long time from now." Thank goodness!

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj covers the April issue of ELLE magazine, on newsstands nationwide 3/26. She opens up to the magazine about facing childhood bullies, her advice for women in business, and her plans for world domination.

On her dramatic make-under for her ELLE photo shoot:

“When I saw myself with barely any makeup at, it was such a… like, I’m so, so attached to my pink lipstick, it’s hard. I feel that it’s become a part of me. To go in front of the camera, without pink lips or big ol’ crazy lashes- you know, nothing – I felt naked. It was scary! So this photo shoot was a real accomplishment in my eyes.”

On experiencing bullying in school as a child:

“I went through a lot of bullying early on. Girls made my life a living hell. We had come to America from a different country. My brother and I had accents. It was very tough. So I’ve always put up this wall – it was a self-defense mechanism growing up – because I was almost expecting people to attack me. And I still have it. It’s sad.”

Her advice for women on how to command respect:

“My advice to women in general: Even if you’re doing a nine-to-five job, treat yourself like a boss. Not arrogant, but be sure of what you want- and don’t allow people to run anything for you without your knowledge. You want everyone to know, Okay, I can’t play games with her. I have to do right by this woman. That’s what it’s all about.”

On her plans for world domination:

“My goal in the beginning was to buy my mother a house. Now I realize, Okay, if I really focus and become a key player in business, then I can build an empire. I’m thinking of a legacy that I can be proud of and wealth that my grandchildren can use to go to college. So world domination- in terms of providing for my family – is absolutely my goal.”
