NYC-based online celebrity auction house will be hosting The Rock and Roll Pop Culture Auction from July 11-20, 2018.

One of the featured items in this auction is a never-before-seen handwritten love letter from Madonna to another woman, Amanda Cazalet, who appeared in her steamy 1990 "Justify My Love" music video, which was banned from MTV for sexual explicitness. In the letter, Madonna writes, "I know you are married and pregnant and I cannot explain my attraction - nevertheless it's there." And goes on to say, "getting in touch with you is like trying to seduce the pope."

Sutton Foster

New York, NY– GHOSTLIGHT DELUXE, an imprint of Ghostlight Records, will release Take Me to the World — the long-awaited third album from two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster — on Friday, June 1. Customers that pre-order the digital album will immediately receive a download of the album’s second single. “I’m on My Way / On My Way” is a medley of one of Sutton’s signature songs from the musical Violet, combined with the traditional spiritual. The album is being released in conjunction with the fifth season of the critically-acclaimed TV Land series “Younger,” which returns on Tuesday, June 5. To pre-order the album.

Take Me to the World features Sutton’s signature vocal stylings on classics written by musical theater luminaries including Stephen Sondheim (“Take Me to the World”), Cole Porter (“Give Him the Ooh-La-La”), and Kander & Ebb (“A Quiet Thing”), as well as legendary pop songwriters such as Paul Simon (“Old Friends / Bookends”) and James Taylor (“You Can Close Your Eyes”). The album takes listeners on Sutton’s personal journey inspired by the birth of her daughter. The recording’s first single, also available now to customers who pre-order the digital album, is “Stars and the Moon” with music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown.

As a Ball State University faculty member in the Department of Theatre and Dance, Sutton enlisted the Ball State Symphony Orchestra and other Ball State faculty and students from a variety of areas, including the Musical Theatre program, for this innovative, collaborative recording. Take Me to the World is produced by Sutton’s longtime musical director – and another Ball State faculty member – Michael Rafter.

Sutton is represented on Ghostlight with her previous two solo albums – Wish and An Evening with Sutton Foster: Live at the CafĂ© Carlyle – in addition to Original Broadway Cast Recordings of The Drowsy Chaperone, Little Women, and Anything Goes (2011 Cast).

SUTTON FOSTER is a two-time Tony winning actress, singer and dancer who currently stars as Liza in the TV Land series, “Younger.” Previously, Foster starred in Amy Sherman-Palladino’s ABC Family series, “Bunheads.” Sutton is one of Broadway’s biggest stars, performing lead roles in Anything Goes, Shrek The Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, Little Women, Thoroughly Modern Millie and many more over the past two decades. As a solo artist, Sutton tours the country with her hit concerts. She has also graced the stages of Carnegie Hall, Feinstein’s, Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series and many others.

Los Angeles alternative duo THE PALMS will head out on the road for the month of April in response to the rapid growth of new fans that have discovered the band. Kicking their tour off on April 3 with a hometown headlining performance at The Troubadour sponsored by KROQ for a "Locals Only" showcase, the completely independent duo of Ben Rothbard and Johnny Zambetti and their band will then travel to Las Vegas to headline Emerge Impact + Music with Warbly Jets, Stokeswood and The National Parks. Next, THE PALMS will move on to Denver, Salt Lake City, Boise, San Francisco and Santa Ana, CA with fellow L.A. indie pop duo Coast Modern.

At each show, THE PALMS will highlight material from their independently released mixtape album MULHOLLAND DR which was written, recorded and produced out of their tiny home studio in Malibu, CA on super old gear they coin "vintage digital." The message within their songs, which reflect the times culturally and politically, are just as relevant as their California vibrations. Bridging the gap between Laurel Canyon folk and West Coast beats, THE PALMS create a true modern L.A. sound. Lookfor THE PALMS to bring the energy that will "...capture the essence of California" as recently noted by Live Nation's Ones To Watch blog (2/21/18).
