ISMAEL'S GHOSTS TO BE RELEASED MARCH 23 IN NYC

ISMAEL'S GHOSTS

Legendary filmmaker Arnaud Desplechin (A CHRISTMAS TALE, KINGS & QUEENS, MY GOLDEN DAYS) opened the 2017 Cannes Film Festival with a truncated version of the intoxicatingly circuitous ISMAEL'S GHOSTS, starring César and Lumiere winner Mathieu Amalric, Cannes Best Actress winner Charlotte Gainsbourg and Oscar® winner Marion Cotillard. A full-length Director's Cut of the film - 20 minutes longer and markedly different in tone from the Cannes version - played at the New York Film Festival and will be released by Magnolia Pictures on Friday, March 23 in New York, with a national rollout to follow.

Twenty-one years ago, she ran away. Now, twenty-one years later, Carlotta (Cotillard) is back from the void. But Ismael (Amalric) has been busy rebuilding a life for himself with Sylvia (Gainsbourg) and working on his next feature film. As Ismael's trials and tribulations unfurl, so too do those of the film-within-a-film's protagonist: the idle, funny and reckless diplomat Ivan Dédalus (Louis Garrel).

The character is a nod to the ghost of another of Desplechin's creations, the brother of Paul Dédalus, three-time hero of MY SEX LIFE... OR HOW I GOT INTO AN ARGUMENT, A CHRISTMAS TALE and MY GOLDEN DAYS. With ISMAEL'S GHOSTS, Desplechin returns once more to the past and proves yet again that his brand of genius lies in his ability to find light in the darkest of places.

MY FRIEND DAHMER

My Friend Dahmer is based on the acclaimed graphic novel about one of the most notorious serial killers ever. Its screenplay landed a spot on the coveted 'Black List', ranking it as one of the best un-produced screenplays (at the time) before becoming a hit movie.

My Friend Dahmer had a theatrical release in 2017 and has grossed over $1,300,000. It played extensively on the festival circuit, premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival and going on to play at LA Film Festival, Deauville Film Festival, American Film Festival, and many others. The film features an all-star cast that includes Emmy Nominee Anne Heche (Donnie Brasco), SAG Award winner Vincent Kartheiser (Mad Men), Former Disney star Ross Lynch (Austin & Ally), Alex Wolff (Patriot's Day) and Dallas Roberts (3:10 To Yuma).

Jeffrey Dahmer murdered 17 men and boys in the Midwest United States between 1978 and 1991 before being captured and incarcerated. He would become one of America's most infamous serial killers. This is the story before that story.

SYNOPSIS:

Jeff Dahmer (Lynch) is an awkward teenager struggling to make it through high school with a family life in ruins. He collects roadkill, fixates on a neighborhood jogger (Kartheiser), and copes with his unstable mother (Heche) and well intentioned father (Roberts). He begins to act out at school, and his goofball antics win over a group of band-nerds who form The Dahmer Fan Club, headed by Derf Backderf (Wolff). But this camaraderie can't mask his growing depravity. Approaching graduation, Jeff spirals further out of control, inching ever closer to madness.

CHRIS EVANS TALKS CANDID TO E! NEWS ABOUT 'GIFTED'

Chris Evans

E! NEWS -- Chris Evans' plan to be a dad one day isn't the only thing he revealed to E! News when we sat down with him last week to talk about his new movie Gifted.

Here are five more things we learned about the hunky actor that ya gotta know.

1. Young Love: Evans said he had at least three celebrity crushes when he was a kid. "Elisabeth Shue from Adventures of Babysitting and Karate Kid!...Lori Loughlin was a big one. Come on, who didn't love Lori Loughlin? She hasn't aged at all. Sandra Bullock was a big one too...like when I was like in seventh or eight grade."

2. Song & Dance: Evans not only knows how to tap dance (just ask any of his co-stars, who frequently comment on his awesome dancing skills), but he'd love to star in a musical. "I'm looking to find one," he said, adding, "I love Gene Kelly, he was great. Wouldn't it be great to do a [Gene Kelly] biopic or something like that?"

Or Guys & Dolls! "That would be great, too," Evans said. "I did that in high school."

3. Be Our Guest: Evans hasn't seen the new Beauty and the Beast yet, but he will. "I am a Disney buff," said Evans.

4. It's Elementary: Evans' favorite subject in school was math. "I probably didn't like English too much," he said. "I hate spelling and grammar." (He stars in Gifted as a boat mechanic who is raising his six-year-old math prodigy niece.)

5. Super Power: Evans' official reign as Captain America is set to end after the third and fourth Avengers movies. "After that my contract is done so it's out of my hands," he said. However, he may not be ready to put down that shield: "I have been doing this for so long, it's tough to think about not doing it. For almost a decade now there has always been one around the corner. I would be open to it. I love playing that guy."

Gifted is in theaters on April 12.

HAMPTON'S MANSION GREY GARDENS FOR SALE

GREY GARDENS

Almost every family has skeletons in the closet and relatives they wish would recede into the woodwork. Such was true of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and her sister Lee Radziwill. As girls, their Aunt Edith Ewing Bouvier Beale (Big Edie) and her daughter Edith Bouvier Beale (Little Edie), their cousin, were equally part of the upper crust and Jackie and her sister enjoyed summer visits to their beautiful home and estate Grey Gardens in the wealthy Georgica Pond neighborhood of East Hampton. In those days, life was good. But when Big Edie’s husband left her for another woman, their lives were to undergo a desperate change.

Without the funds or ability to keep up the huge property, Grey Gardens began to fall into ruin. Eventually the two women became very reclusive, barely hanging on to survival. Exposed by the Enquirer and a cover story in New York Magazine about the filth, fleas, cats and raccoons sharing the home with the women, the health department intervened and gave the women the ultimatum of cleaning up or getting out. Unable to afford repairs and cleanup, it was at this point that Jackie O and Lee came to their aid. They went in together and had repairs made to the house, the overgrown vegetation cut back, and hundreds of bags of trash removed. The house passed health department inspection and the mother and daughter were allowed to stay - still reclusive, and still in a somewhat altered relationship with reality.

Filmmakers Albert and David Maysles heard about their story when engaged by Lee Radziwill to do a documentary about her and Jackie’s childhood. They found the Grey Garden women so interesting they filmed over an hour at the location with the mother and daughter. Lee was not happy at the direction the film had taken and ended the arrangement with the Maysles and destroyed the film. But that didn’t stop Albert and David and they went back to Grey Gardens to make a documentary in 1975 that may have been the first reality, unscripted film ever. It was recognized in 2010 by the Library of Congress for its cultural and historical significance. In 2014, film critics named it the ninth best documentary film of all time. Although not entered, it was also shown at the Cannes Film Festival to much acclaim. It was a sad riches-to-rags story that drew attention around the world.

Edith Beale's Famed Bedroom

Big Edie died in 1977 and her daughter sold the house in 1979 for $220,000 to author and journalist Sally Quinn and her husband, Washington Post Editor Ben Bradlee. After the sale, Little Edie moved to Florida where she died in 2002.

When Sally and Ben purchased the dilapidated mansion, Sally went up to the attic for the first time and found a treasure trove of the home’s original furnishings and samples of fabrics that had been used in the once glamorous home. She scratched away old paint and found the original beachy colors. The couple began the year-long restoration that would bring the home back to its original glory, adapted to today’s lifestyle. A special feature they added were French doors in the back to open a view to the ocean across the restored original gardens. After the estate was completed, the couple spent every August there until Ben’s death in 2014. Quinn then started renting the house out for the summer at $250,000. Sally has recently put the estate up for sale.

Sited on just under two acres, the house contains approximately 6,000 square feet of living space with nine bedrooms, six baths and multiple venues for entertaining. Grounds contain a guest house nestled in the lush garden, a heated pool and a Har-Tru Tennis court. Listing agents are Michael Schultz and Susan Ryan of The Corcoran Group.

Filled with history and visited by Jackie Kennedy Onassis and her sister Lee Radziwill, the star of an award-winning documentary, an HBO film, a Broadway play and mentioned in song, Grey Garden is priced at $19.995 million.

ILLUMINATION FOUNDER CHRIS MELEDANDRI'S "SING"

SING

Illumination has captivated audiences all over the world with the beloved hits Despicable Me, Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, Despicable Me 2 and Minions, now the second-highest-grossing animated movie in history. Following the release of this summer's comedy blockbuster The Secret Life of Pets, Illumination presents Sing this holiday season.

With its highly relatable characters, heart and humor, the first collaboration between writer/director Garth Jennings (Son of Rambow, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) and Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri marks the sixth fully animated feature from the studio.

The event film stars Academy Award® winners Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon, alongside Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Taron Egerton and Grammy Award-nominated Tori Kelly.

Set in a world like ours but entirely inhabited by animals, Sing stars Buster Moon (McConaughey), a dapper koala who presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times. Buster is an eternal-some might even say delusional-optimist who loves his theater above all and will do anything to preserve it. Now faced with the crumbling of his life's ambition, he has one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world's greatest singing competition.

Five lead contestants emerge: Mike (MacFarlane), a mouse who croons as smoothly as he cons; Meena (Kelly), a timid teenage elephant with an enormous case of stage fright; Rosita (Witherspoon), an overtaxed mother run ragged tending a litter of 25 piglets; Johnny (Egerton), a young gangster gorilla looking to break free of his family's felonies; and Ash (Johansson), a punk-rock porcupine struggling to shed her arrogant boyfriend and go solo.

Each arrives under Buster's marquee believing that this is their shot to change the course of their life. And as Buster coaches each of his contestants closer and closer to the grand finale, he starts to learn that maybe the theater isn't the only thing that is in need of saving.

Featuring more than 65 hit songs, Sing is produced by Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy. Together, they have produced all of Illumination's films since the studio's inception. Released by Universal Pictures, Sing arrives in theaters on December 21, 2016. www.singmovie.com
