MISCHA BARTON UNHAPPY WITH NEW MOVIE

Former television star Mischa Barton is fueling reports she is unhappy with her new picture You And I, after reportedly refusing to promote it.The actress initially sparked media rumors of her dissatisfaction when she failed to attend the film’s premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in France earlier this month. She insisted then she "was never due to go", but now You And I director Roland Joffe cannot locate Barton in London to complete promo duties. He tells New York gossip column PageSix, "She hasn’t pulled out of interviews, she’s pulled out of everything… Her room is here, she is here, but trying to get the two together has just been impossible. We just don’t know where Mischa is." In the film, Barton plays a Russian lesbian who falls in love at a t.A.T.u concert.

MISCHA BARTON TAKES ON THE TABLOIDS

Press Representatives for Mischa Barton has hit out at money-hungry tabloids printing unflattering photos of the Hollywood actress, and they are insisting the images were manipulated in a bid to sell more magazines. The images of 22-year-old Barton, many of which showed her topless and with cellulite on her thighs, were splashed in various magazine covers and newspapers and also online last week. And although Barton has insisted she’s happy with her body, her spokesperson Lisa Perkins is adamant someone tampered with the photos to suit their own financial gain. Perkins tells The New York Daily News, "Those photos are doctored. I’m not saying she’s perfect, nobody is. But they’ve given a 22-year-old woman the legs and bottom of an 80-year-old."Look at the shots that were taken shortly before on a beach in Los Angeles.Did she develop all that cellulite in a couple of weeks? There’s a lot you can do with Photo shopping." Perkins also calls photographer Jamie Fawcett, who shot the images of the actress on vacation with her mother on Hamilton Island, off Australia’s East Coast - a "parasite" out to make Barton look bad because "she called him out for taking the topless shots". She adds, "It is a shame that publications tend to highlight an issue that isn’t fair to a young girl. However, sometimes these are the things that sell pictures." But the British Daily Mail newspaper, which also published the photos, stands by their authenticity, placing blame on Barton’s bad habits: "The nasty habit (smoking) is one of the reasons (for) premature emergence of her cellulite."

MISCHA BARTON SENTENCED TO PROBATION

Television star Mischa Barton has been sentenced to three years of unsupervised probation after pleading no contest to drunken driving. The former star of "The O.C." was charged with DUI, possession of marijuana and driving without a license in February, following an arrest in West Hollywood California in December.Barton accepted a plea deal by admitting the DUI offense in return for prosecutors dropping the marijuana charge and reducing the driving without a license charge to an infraction. Today a Beverly Hills, California, judge sentenced the 22-year-old to three years of unsupervised probation and ruled she must complete a three-month alcohol-education class and pay a fine of approximately $2,000.

Hollywood television star Mischa Barton never wanted to be an actress and only settled on the profession when she was cast in the hit O.C. television show.The 22-year-old appeared in a handful of TV shows and films, including the hit soap opera All My Children and the 1999 movie The Sixth Sense, before she landed the role of Marissa Cooper in the successful teenage drama.But Barton, who left the show shortly before it ended in 2007, insists acting was more of a hobby for her, and if she didn't shoot to fame in The O.C., she would be doing something completely different.
