Michael Avenatti On The View

Michael Avenatti on Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen

"In retrospect, I'm glad Michael Cohen did take those recordings," Avenatti says. "You deserve to know what your leaders have done and whether... they've committed crimes. It's just that simple. Everyone should be demanding the release of these tapes."

Avenatti discusses what the contents are on the disc he tweeted a picture of in March: "As soon as we get it back from law enforcement, I'll be happy to talk about it."

Avenatti says Stormy Daniels' arrest was 'politically motivated'

Avenatti says he believes there will be "no question that it will be proven" Daniels' Ohio arrest was politically motivated: "In America, we should not be using the power of the badge to arrest our political enemies."

Avenatti discusses possible run for president in 2020

"2020 is going to prove to be a critical election," Avenatti says. "The Democrats have to nominate somebody who can beat Donald Trump... I will strongly consider it."

Stormy Daniels Lawyer Michael Avenatti

Stormy Daniels' lawyer Michael Avenatti talks alleged threats against her, evidence of Trump affair and more.

Avenatti calls the former adult film star's claim she was threatened by a man in a parking lot a "critical fact in this story": "That is a big, big accusation and she stands behind it."

"It could've only come from one place, and one place only." Avenatti discusses who he believes is behind the man who allegedly threatened Daniels: Trump's longtime lawyer Michael Cohen. "This is thuggish behavior, this guy's a wannabe mobster and he's more interested in role playing Ray Donovan than doing his job as a legitimate lawyer."

"I give the American people more credit," Sunny Hostin says of those who "don't care" about Daniels' story. "I think they are concerned that he paid money to shut her up ... I think the American people cared enough when it was John Edwards that they prosecuted him."
