KID ROCK AND J.COLE CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS

Kid Rock At Tao

J. Cole

After performing at his sold out concert Saturday night Kid Rock hosted an after concert party at TAO. The rocker was joined by a large group of friends including Uncle Kracker and Rande Gerber, taking over a section of VIP tables and enjoying Jim Beam and Miller Lite. Having just celebrated his 41st birthday, Kid Rock was surprised with a belated birthday cake shaped like a "Badass" beer can, a replica from his own brand of beer. DJ Vice spun a selection of his music and wished him a very "Badass" birthday, shouting out Detroit and the rocker throughout the night to a cheering crowd. While making his way out of the club, Kid Rock made sure to stop and shake the hand of a Marine, thanking him for his service.

At LAVO rapper, singer and producer J Cole celebrated his 27th birthday. Surrounded by friends the guest of honor dined on signature favorites at LAVO as fans stopped by to request photos. His group swelled to nearly thirty people as he made his way up to the nightclub, taking over several VIP tables. He was surprised by a cake in the shape of a keyboard that he pretended to play as the crowd went crazy. J Cole treated club goers to an impromptu performance of two of his hits and graciously took photos with fans.

****
Elin And Michael Nierenberg Host The 14th Annual
Collaborating For A Cure Dinner & Auction Benefitting

The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Center

With Musical Guest KID ROCK
****

Dr. Samuel Waxman

The 14th Annual Collaborating for a Cure dinner and auction to benefit the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) will be held at New York City’s landmark Park Avenue Armory on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 6:30PM. The event, to be hosted by Elin and Michael Nierenberg, will be headlined by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Kid Rock. The annual dinner—known affectionately by New Yorkers as “The Waxman” after SWCRF founder Dr. Samuel Waxman—is considered to be among the top annual fundraising events in New York City. In addition, the evening’s much-anticipated live and silent auctions offer guests the opportunity to bid on an exciting selection of exclusive items, which are on display at www.charitybuzz.com prior to the event. The dinner and auction are attended annually by more than 1,200 corporate executives, board members, and their guests. In recent years, “The Waxman” has raised millions of dollars to support the Foundation’s research efforts to produce a cure for cancer, reprogramming cancer cells to deliver tailored, minimally toxic treatments to patients. The scientists who are funded by the SWCRF have made significant breakthroughs in cancer research, including identifying pathways to deliver drugs and novel therapies to treat cancer.

Dr. Waxman founded the SWCRF and its unique concept of a collaborative group of world-class scientists, the Institute Without Walls, to bridge the gap between the bench and bedside. Unlike other organizations, the Waxman Foundation supports novel treatments for many different cancer indications including blood, brain, breast, liver, lung, melanoma, and pancreatic. The Foundation sponsors research that spans the spectrum of cancer—from children to adults; men and women; and from those who are newly diagnosed to those more advanced. Through the Institute Without Walls, investigators share information and tools to speed the pace of cancer research. Since its inception in 1976, the Foundation has awarded more than $75 million to support the work of more than 175 researchers across three continents.

The Foundation hopes to continue funding its vital research through the charitable donations it receives at its annual Collaborating for a Cure dinner and auction, working towards a world in which cancer can be cured and one day can even be prevented.

KID ROCK HITS OUT AT ANIMAL RIGHTS PETA

Kid Rock is hitting out at animal rights advocates, and is insisting their campaigns will never stop him from wearing the fur he loves. The singer is known for his love of hunting and frequently wears lavish fur coats during his concerts. Media rumors even suggested his refusal to give up his fur wardrobe was one of the reasons his marriage to animal rights activist Pamela Anderson ended in divorce in 2006. And the star insists he has no desire to give up his love of animal skins warning that he’s willing to "go to war" with animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. He tells Britain’s Mail on Sunday, "I want to go to war with PETA. My biggest extravagance is fur coats - I’ve got every kind of animal in my wardrobe." The rocker also slams PETA’s activism tactics - which have included throwing red paint on fur-wearing stars - and urges the group to try the same protest with him. He adds: "I’m just willing the animal rights protesters to chuck some red paint on me. "I understand people’s problems with it but to throw paint on someone is just wrong. They do it to little Hollywood actresses who can’t defend themselves."

KID ROCK DENIED IRAQ TROOP VISIT BY COURT

Kid Rock

Rocker Kid Rock has been denied the opportunity to complete his court-ordered community service by performing for U.S. troops stationed in war torn Iraq. The singer was sentenced to 80 hours community service following a brawl at a Waffle House restaurant in Georgia last year, and he has asked if he can do his time by visiting troops stationed abroad this holiday season.
But Dekalb County judge Alvin T. Wong has decided the free concerts and meet and greets aren’t enough to fulfill his sentence. He says, "Giving him credit for something he would otherwise love to do in front of a camera completely defeats the punitive purpose of performing community service." And the decision has infuriated Rock, who talks about it in his blog. The angry star writes, "Apparently he thinks it’s more important that I do something else rather than sing, shake hands, take pictures and spend time with the men and women who put themselves in harm’s way to protect the very freedoms he and all of us live by. I really take it as a slap in the face." Rock, who has become a regular visitor to U.S. troops stationed abroad during the holidays, was fined $1,000 and sentenced to probation after pleading no contest in a battery lawsuit, following the Waffle House fight. The rock star and five members of his entourage were arrested and charged with misdemeanour battery.

He came up with the idea for his hit song All Summer Long during one sleepless night.Kid hasn’t slept properly in a very long time, because he can’t stop dreaming up new music. And he puts his recent hit, which samples Warren Zevon’s Werewolves of London and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Sweet Home Alabama, down to another night of staying awake. He says, "I haven’t had a full night’s sleep in years. My brain never stops. So I put a notepad by the bed and recorders around the house."It was during the early hours I got the idea for All Summer Long and it turned out to be huge."

KID ROCK LASHES OUT AT OPRAH WINFREY

Oprah Winfrey

Rapper Kid Rock is hitting out at television talk show queen Oprah, because he "doesn’t believe" in her politics. TV icon Winfrey is urging her viewers to vote for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, and even turned up at last week’s Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado to support the politician. But Rock insists the media mogul’s rally around the Illinois senator has caused him to question his own vote. He says, "When they all go, ‘I’m voting for this guy,’ I go, ‘That’s not who I’m voting for!’ …I love Barack Obama. I hate Oprah Winfrey. (No), I don’t hate her. I just don’t believe in her."

KID ROCK ISN'T A FAN OF ITUNES MUSIC

Singer Kid Rock won't put his records on the Internet music store iTunes, because he is not paid enough money to do so.The rock star is accusing executives at iTunes owners Apple of not paying musicians enough money to sell their singles and albums through the download service. He claims it was based on "an old system, where iTunes takes the money, the record company takes the money, and they don’t give it to the artists". He adds, "Back in the day, we all know the stories of the Otis Reddings and Chuck Berrys and Fats Dominos who never got paid. "So the Internet was an opportunity for everyone to be treated fairly, for the consumer to get a fair price, for the artist to be paid fairly, for the record companies to make some money."I will be on iTunes eventually because I can’t avoid it, but I like to always stick to my guns and prove a point and do something original and because I believe in it."

KID ROCK TRASHES PAMELA ANDERSON

Rocker Kid Rock has compared his marriage to ex-wife Baywatch star Pamela Anderson to being "thrown under the bus" - because the experience was so traumatising to him.The 36-year-old singer, married the blonde beauty in 2006, but their quick relationship only lasted five months before they filed for a divorce. And Ritchie admits his time with Anderson was one of the most difficult periods of his life. He says, "It (marriage) taught me a lot. I touched the stove, it’s f**king hot; it burnt the f**k out of my hand. I’m not going to touch the stove anymore." And the star - who has also dated rocker Sheryl Crow - claims his high-profile relationships have turned him off dating another celebrity in the future. He adds, "I got burnt too hard. I got completely thrown under the bus, no question about that. I don’t want anything to do with the whole world she is in. It’s a very dark place."I’m not going to get caught up in any of that s**t anymore… those Hollywood relationships."

Rock Kid has since toured with the hip-hop legends and can’t wait to collaborate with them again, as he’s been a fan since childhood. He says, "For me, Run-DMC was really the blues music of my day and age. When I really got older…I started to analyze music and break it down - my love for blues music for jazz, R&B, which basically and put its finger on everything on popular culture until hip-hop came along."When hip-hop came along, this has been the only other musical art form that we’ve seen that’s touched everything in popular culture."
