“Gravedigger” tells the story of Steve Borden (Collins) who is a brilliant, young criminal defense attorney. As junior partner in a local, high end law firm, he makes his living defending the indefensible. When a case gone horribly wrong haunts him, Borden’s conscience begins to send him into a guilt-ridden spiral. Police Chief George Orkin (McKeown) is the town’s top cop. With more bodies turning up buried, District Attorney Mike Ruble (Ruckdashel) suspects Orkin’s ties to crime boss Charles Muzzatti (Stoerback) may be the answer to the case. Now, Orkin must deal with his own eroding sense of integrity to keep both sides of the law off his back. As paranoia rises and Borden, Orkin, Ruble & Muzzatti try to pin the murders on each other, could another, more sinister force be hunting them? Codes, morals and misguided views of justice collide when the law, the mob and the Gravedigger face off in a bloody battle that will darken the survivor’s souls forever. But will burying the guilty, bury the Gravedigger’s own guilt?

Atlantic City Cinefest
Downbeach Film Festival

Keith Collins With Awards

Atlantic City Cinefest Downbeach Film Festival is always a great look into the future of independent films. A wide variety of solid features and quirky shorts play throughout the three-day event and this year was no exception. One film that stood out to us was the feature Horror/Thriller “Gravedigger”, which walked away with Best Thriller Award & Best Actor.

Directed by Doug Bollinger (“Waltzing Anna”) and produced by Keith Collins, Gravedigger is a gritty, slasher film that has two elements most independent horror films lack – a great story and a great look. Written by Billy and Joseph Pepitone (“Stuck in the Middle”), Gravedigger is as much a thriller as it is a bloodfest and avoids the typical serial killer clich├ęs while still staying true to the genre with still giving you the gore that you crave.

Filmed in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, the fictional town of Breaker’s Point comes alive thanks to cinematography of Brandon Ruckdashel (“Co-Ed Confidential”). Ruckdashel who also plays “D.A Mike Ruble” has a great eye and his style is unique, adding a big budget feel to this independent film.

The acting in Gravedigger is a breath of fresh air. If you are expecting the usual indie movie talent, you will be surprised by the performances in this film. With Many special appearances by TV Personalities, Former Sports Stars, Reality Stars & more Gravedigger most certainly delivers. Keith Collins plays “Steve Borden” with his performance gained him the best actor award in a NJ Feature Film, Delivers a cunning edgy performance that creepily pulls the audience in and keeps you captivated while wanting more. Angela Sharp who plays “Det. Carolynne Richards”, puts on a performance none to be reckoned with. Sharp brings this role to life while keeping you glued to the screen throughout the film as the very memorable sidekick to “Chief George Orkin”, played by Jim McKeown who is the worn out police chief on the hunt to solve the case. John Stoerback plays Mob Boss “Charles Muzzatti” just watching Stoerback on screen gives you that erring feeling in your stomach wondering if you are going to get wacked. Former NY Yankee Billy Sample plays Mayor Benjamin Barnes and is a perfect fit. “Samantha Owens” played by newcomer Katelyn Pearce is sexy and talented – a rare combination in a horror film.

Gravedigger is driven by an intense music score that adds rock and roll creepiness to the entire film. Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, lead guitarist of (“Guns N’ Roses”) lends upmost precision and his original music to the film. You don’t get that kind of musical talent in many independent films and with all the perfection going on in Gravedigger it shows that it is a key element of the film.

After success on the film festival circuit, I’m sure Gravedigger we will be seeing gravedigger available to the public in 2014.

Gravedigger is Directed by, Doug Bollinger (“Waltzing Anna”). Produced by, Keith Collins. Executive Producers John Stoerback, Michael Levine & Jeff Quinlan (“Bare Knuckles”). Co-Executive Producer Brandon Ruckdashel. Line Producer Theresa Galeani. Written by, Joseph & Billy Pepitone. STARRING:: Keith Collins (“Stuck in the Middle”,”The Meat Puppet”), Brandon Ruckdashel (“Co-Ed Confidential”), Jim McKeown, Angela Sharp, John Stoerback (“The Next Vigilante”), Katelyn Pearce, Rachel Barrer WITH Billy Sample (“Former NY Yankee”) AND Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (“Guns N’ Roses”). Alongside a well-rounded cast with many special appearances Including: Jim Leyritz (Former “NY Yankee”), Brian McRae (Former “NY Met”,”KC Royals”), Annette Dziamba (“The Apprentice”,”Playboy”), Gregg Valentino (TLC’s “The Man Whose Arms Exploded”), Gervase Peterson (“Survivor, Season One”), Emilio Masella (Oxygen’s “Love Games”), Gary Garver (“formerly from the Howard Stern Show”), Mark Pinkhasovich ( NBC’s “The Biggest Loser”), April Hunter (“WCW”, ”TNA”), Anastasia Smith (“NY Majesty Lingerie Football League”), Theresa Galeani (“Cross the Line”, “I am Legend”), Joe Sernio (“All My Children”), Cindy Fox (“The Naked Cowgirl”), Adam (“Speed bag Scissorhands”) Salomon.

Brandon Ruckdashel With Daniela Rivera And Keith Collins

The Meat Puppet, the new horror/psychological drama directed by Joe Valenti (Echelon 8) & produced by Blaze Kelly Coyle, Keith Collins & Joe Valenti just recently had its premiere at the Anthology Film Archives in New York City & exclusive after party at underground hotspot Kings Cross. The film is reminiscent of classic horror films that relied heavy on a story that is just as scary as the blood and violence. Writers Joseph and Billy Pepitone (Stuck in the Midd! le) have created great characters and take you into the mind of a twisted, cold-blooded, killer.

The highlight of the film is Keith Collins who plays Andrew "Drew" Shelton. Collins’ performance is astonishing keeping the audience on edge while delivering tremendous fear throughout the film. Collins is exceptional as the lead character whose torment you can feel as he struggles with trying to be normal and pleasing his psychotic “mother” played by Geri Reischl (“Fake Jan- The Brady Bunch Variety Hour). Collins terrorizes and tortures beautiful women, serving them up to Reischl in search of her approval. But Collins really turns it up a notch when he is on-screen opposite Brandon Rucksdaschel (Co-Ed Confidential), the hard-nosed detective who becomes obsessed with stopping him. The two really bring out the best in each other ! all the way to their epic final meeting.

Collins also shares great chemistry with Daniela Rivera who is the one woman his character admires and longs to live a normal life. Rivera has a strong debut as the innocent but tough single mother who becomes the object of Andrew "Drew" Shelton's obsession.

 Keith Collins

Keith Collins is by far becoming the hardest, working man in show business. Producer, Advocate & Award Winning Actor, Keith is wearing all hats for his latest project “The Meat Puppet”. In this new horror / psychological thriller that is currently filming in New Jersey, Keith plays Andrew Shelton, a handsome playboy with an insatiable appetite for women and meat. He also is the movie’s producer and the premise of the film came from his deep seeded mind.

In a career that has spanned over a decade with way over thirty films under his belt, and many accolades, Collins feels “The Meat Puppet” will be his breakout role. In a recent chat with the veteran actor he revealed why he believes in this movie and what the future holds.

TSG: The Meat Puppet has a very original premise. Where did the idea come from and how did you get the project off the ground?

COLLINS: (laughs) I had this crazy idea in my head for years about a successful guy who seems to have it altogether but has this really dark secret where he is in search for the perfect meal and the only thing that will satisfy him is killing, cooking and eating beautiful women. So I just kept it in the back of my mind for a while I didn’t want to rush anything until I was ready to get the right people on board to do it right. I reached out to Joseph and Billy Pepitone who wrote a hilarious comedy I was in called “Stuck in the Middle”. I really liked their style and how they didn’t shy away from controversy and I thought they would be perfect for this. They turned in a first draft in about a week and I was amazed and loved it. I knew I was on to something.

TSG: Once you had the script, how did you move closer to getting the film made?

COLLINS: I wanted people with the same passion for this project as I had. Joseph and Billy definitely did. I reached out to Joe Valenti (Valenti Vision Films), a director I worked with on a movie called “Echelon 8” and Blaze Kelly Coyle (Silver Phoenix Entertainment), who produced it. That was the best decision I made. Valenti and Coyle jumped head first into this project and it really came together. Valenti added those extra needed elements and came up with some amazing twists in the story. I can’t tell you what an outstanding job he is doing shooting this film. He has a good eye and incredible vision in filmmaking. I always believed that “The Meat Puppet” could be a good horror movie, but working with this team, I believe it is going to not only be a good horror movie, but just a great movie all together, period.

TSG: The cast is very eclectic group. How did you go about casting this movie?

COLLINS: I was able to get a lot of my friends on board really early on in the process. They believed in me and what my vision was and they all loved the script and wanted to be a part of it. Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (Guns and Roses), Geri Reischl (The Brady Bunch Variety Hour), Billy Garcia (Survivor), former (New York Yankee) Billy Sample, Erick Chopin who won (The Biggest Loser), Gregg Valentino (TLC’s The Man Whose Arms Exploded), Jason Prager (Beauty and the Geek), Gary Garver formerly from (The Howard Stern Show), Brandon Ruckdashel (CO-Ed Confidential), Theresa Galeani (Cross the Line), Gervase Peterson (Survivor, Season One), John Fields (A-List DJ Unique), Jamie Kovac (American Gladiators), April Hunter (WCW / TNA), Cindy Fox (The Naked Cowgirl), Faith Stanek (Star Trek Phase 2 Web Series), Emilio Masella (Oxygen’s Love Games), Doug Bollinger (Waltzing Anna), and the list goes on and on. We had then searched for a while and casted for two of the lead roles and Daniela Rivera & Chris Wilkes landed them to join our cast. Everyone has been terrific so far and every day of filming has been a pleasure.

TSG: We’ve seen a change in horror films over the last ten years. There seems to be a heavier emphasis on gore and shock. Every film tries to out do the last? Is The Meat Puppet going to try to top other horror movies?

COLLINS: The way “The Meat Puppet” is going to out do other horror films is by having an incredible story. There is a lot in this movie that horror buffs will love but this is also a great psychological thriller that will take your mind on one heck of a ride. People are really going to be totally blown away by the story, by how great this film looks and the acting. I truly can’t wait for people to see this film and for me to see all their reactions.

 Keith Collins

(1. meat puppet; (noun)
person(s) that have no will of their own; somebody that lets others control them. Another name for a human being, especially one who doesn't think for him/herself, has no soul and is therefore controlled by others).

Currently filming in New Jersey is this year’s new bone chilling horror/thriller “The Meat Puppet”. From the mind of Award Winning Actor Keith Collins, along with Silver Phoenix Entertainment, Valenti Vision Films and the pen of NY Emmy Award Winning writer Joseph Pepitone and Billy Pepitone (“Stuck in the Middle”) comes a sadistic thrill fest, full of twists and turns, that is sure to give movie goers the fright of their lives.

A vain, successful playboy tortures and kills beautiful girls and uses them to make the perfect meal for his lavish dinner parties. Body parts, blood, torture, cannibalism and NO escape are a few ways to describe this clever new terrifying and psychologically damaging creep show.

“The Meat Puppet” tells the story of Andrew “Drew” Shelton who has it all – looks, money, women and an insatiable taste for human flesh. His vanity is only surpassed by his obsession with finding the perfect tasting meal and it has fueled his appetite for killing, preparing and cooking beautiful women. He throws lavish dinner parties and serves his guests his latest victim and one unlucky guest becomes the main course of his next get together. When a no-nonsense detective starts putting the pieces together, it leads to a game of cat and mouse that only increases the stakes. But is Drew the soul-less, cold-blooded killer that he appears to be? Or is he just the Meat Puppet for a more sadistic mind?

Awake In The Woods

The recent talk on the new film “Awake in the Woods” has gotten us so interested here at Times Square Gossip we had heard so much about this creepy film we had to do our research and see for ourselves what the talk is all about. Filmed in the small town of Marion, NY we looked into the legend of these woods. Sure enough after numerous phone calls to local establishments and random homeowners no one would go into the story. We hear the woods are haunted we have heard bout all the myths and the legends but now it raises curiosity how no one would speak about them. One town diner owner told us to never call again, another establishment told us not to look into this any further, a general store owner told us he would call the police if we called again while others just simply hung up on us when we even mentioned the Marion woods. After numerous attempts and many disconnects we couldn’t stop with our persistence and finally were able to get in contact with the filmmakers family members who let us watch what they had on tape. What we witnessed was so disturbing and shocking it completely left me speechless. I remember when the Blair Witch Project came out it was so spooky gave me nightmares for a week. Not knowing if Awake in the Woods is reality is the scariest point of the whole film, just really not knowing and as it progresses I couldn’t help to think that what was caught on film was actually happening to these people it was riveting, frightening and bone chilling. It is a definite must see but be prepared to be “awake” for along time after viewing this upcoming thriller. "Awake in the Woods" tells the story of small town friends Ronnie (Award winning producer Theresa Galeani), Derek (Award winning actor Keith Collins), and Tucker (Award winning filmmaker Nicholas Boise) growing up hearing stories of odd happenings, hunter's reporting strange occurrences, Parents warning their children not to go too far into the woods. But when 7 year-old Madelaine (Madelaine Kemp) does not heed her parents warning and goes missing in the woods these three friends search for the truth. Set out to document their findings, what happened to them is unexplainable. Only one of them was left wandering, alone, awake in the woods.

Keith Collins As The Evil Todd Levy And Eric Etebari As Jesus

With apologies to Bruce Springsteen, I have seen the future of independent films and it is Stuck in the Middle!

The low budget independent film co-directed by Joseph Pepitone and Carlos Duhaime had its’ New York City Premiere last night at the Tribeca Grand Hotel and attracted a sell-out crowd that could not stop raving about the film long after the credits rolled.

The movie follows a lazy loser’s afterlife in Purgatory. At a little under ninety minutes, this movie has no slow spots. The brother writing team of Joseph and Billy Pepitone packed so many laughs, jokes and one liners into this film I am sure the audience missed many of them laughing at the lines that proceeded it.

The ensemble cast was very strong with everyone getting a moment to shine. Stephen Fontana held his own in his first starring role up against some very accomplished actors. Penelope Lagos plays his beautiful love interest and radiates off the screen like a starlet. When Fontana claims to have a swimmer’s body, Lagos lightening quick response of “Yeah, Shamu” was timed and delivered like a true film comedian.

Cash Tilton was a great find for this movie. His turn as the demoted, butt kissing St. Peter was a unique take on Jesus’ main apostle and his facial expressions alone had me rooting for him to get back into Heaven.

While Stuck in the Middle is filled with some salty language, most of it is spewed by Jeanette Roxborough as a Purgatory lifer who has lost all hope of getting to the Promised Land. Hearing such words coming from such a beautiful woman’s mouth was a great juxtaposition that Roxborough nailed.

As for the villain of the film, Keith Collins falls into the love to hate category, the sign of a great bad guy. Whether he is being punk’d by Fontana and Lagos or scheming behind everyone’s back to buy Purgatory, Collins manic, chaotic character is hysterical and evil all at the same time. The chemistry between Collins and Eric Etebari as Jesus is as good as it gets. Etebari is in full Jesus Christ Superstar mode as the Savior whose love of golf rivals only his quest for perfect abs. Yes, Jesus loves golf and hits the gym in Stuck in the Middle and Etebari is devilishly good as the Son of Man.

If I had one complaint of this film it is Jack Mulcahy. The complaint is that Mulcahy didn’t have enough screen time! Playing a Ronald Reagan impersonator, I knew every time he was in a scene he would own it. The audience seemed to anticipate the next words out of his mouth would be a gem.

Even small role players delivered big laughs. Evonne Walton, Samantha Cole, Oscar Avila, David Rabadi and young Abigail Summa all add to pivotal scenes throughout the film. And stay for the credits for a few outtakes and a cameo by HBO’s Telling Nicholas star Thanbir Ahmed who wraps the whole movie up with one line.

The premiere was a great success for the entire Stuck in the Middle family and I predict great things for this little film that can! As the cast and crewed than celebrated at Lair Lounge for the after party, I had a feeling we will be hearing from all involved very soon.
