KAYNE WEST FLYS THROUGH LA AIRPORT

Kayne West

Kanye West arrives at Los Angeles International Airport the other day in Los Angeles, California. Kanye was very friendly at first, but quickly began to block his face from the camera. The reason soon became apparent as the camera flashes alerted hordes of screaming girls to his presence. Kanye was extremely kind to his fans as he smiled and posed for pictures with them, and was dressed strangely as usual wearing a flannel baseball cap.

KAYNE WEST THANKS FANS FOR SUPPORT

Kayne West

Kanye West has thanked his fans for their support following his mother's death. The West family released a statement the other day: "Kanye West, his family and friends would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and kind words that have come in from across the country since the death of his mother, Dr. Donda West."After working in higher education for 31 years, Dr. Donda West and Kanye West co-founded the Kanye West Foundation with the mission of helping to combat the severe dropout problem in high schools across the country. The first and signature initiative of the Kanye West Foundation is Loop Dreams."In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dr. West's name to the Kanye West Foundation/Loop Dreams Teacher Training Institute. Those donations can be made by visiting the Foundation's Web site, www.KanyeWestFoundation.org or by mail at Kanye West Foundation, 8560 W. Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069. The details of the funeral services are still pending."The singer's 58-year-old mother, who was also his manager, died on Saturday at the Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Centre in Los Angeles as a result of complications following surgery.A spokesperson for the hospital said: "Donda West was brought into the emergency room at Centinela. She was unresponsive and in cardiac arrest. They tried to revive her and were unsuccessful."While the surgery was originally thought to be cosmetic, Donda's spokesperson, Patricia Green, is unsure of the exact cause of death, but requested the family are "given privacy during this time of grief."Meanwhile, renowned Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Andre Aboolian revealed he refused to give Donda a tummy tuck and breast reduction just weeks before her death. He told US TV show 'Access Hollywood': "She was interested in some cosmetic procedures and we had discussed, that in order for her to go through with the procedures, which she was a good candidate for, she needed what's called a medical clearance, which just about anybody over the age of 40 is required to have."The doctor said that while Donda seemed to be healthy, she had a condition that may have caused problems with the surgery - but due to patient confidentiality, he couldn't reveal what the condition was.He added: "I spoke to her about two weeks ago and she was supposed to see the internist for the medical clearance, the internist that I had recommended, that I work with. But she never followed through as far as I know."Unfortunately, situations like this can happen and do happen and they're only brought out to the news media only when it's a public figure. Stuff like this does happen here and there and surgery is not to be taken lightly. You have to take the right precautions and you have to prepare for it."An autopsy to determine the exact cause of death is currently scheduled for Wednesday.

Donda West - who used to work as the rapper's manager - passed away on Saturday in Los Angeles, aged just 58, after developing complications from an unknown procedure.Kanye was in London when he was told of the devastating news. Donda's publicist, Patricia Green, said: "She died as the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure."Green refused to give any more details. Kanye's spokesman said the family is asking "for privacy during this time of grief". Kanye, 30, often spoke of his close relationship with Donda who raised him alone when his father walked out on them.In his 2005 song 'Hey Mama', he sang: "Hey Mama, I wanna scream so loud for you, cuz I'm so proud of you. I appreciate what you allowed for me, I just want you to be proud of me."He also spoke of how her love and support had inspired him, saying: "She always gave me support. KAYNE WEST BEATS FIFTY CENT SALES

50 Cent is facing retirement after being beaten by rival Kanye West in the pair's chart battle. The hip-hop stars both released their third studio albums on Tuesday and Kanye's 'Graduation' is currently outselling 50's 'Curtis' by over 200,000 copies, when figures are added together from the US and UK. 50 - real name Curtis Jackson - recently vowed to retire if he did not come out on top in the chart battle. He boldly announced: "If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I'll no longer write music. I'll work with my other artists, but I won't put out anymore solo albums."When it was revealed 50 was losing to Kanye, the 31-year-old star was reluctant to honor his promise, and instead blamed the defeat on his record label. He said: "To be honest, the process of selling this record hasn't been fun. I'm happy with the performance, but I'm not happy with the set up. It was the label. They're dropping the ball all over the place. I'll release my next album and then I'm a free agent."Rather than retire, 50 has vowed to "put his face paint on", and "go to war"with Kanye's record label Def Jam.He said: "If I ended up selling less than Kanye, I would release a new album every time Def Jam had a priority. I would release a record verses every one of their top priorities each time."

KAYNE WEST WORRIED ABOUT GAY RUMORS

Kanye West is worried people think he is gay.The hip-hop star admits he has "feminine ways" but now realises they helped make him a success.Kanye told Britain's GQ magazine: "What if your drawbacks ended up being your superpower? I've always had an issue with masculinity. I'm like, 'I hope this person isn't looking at me like I'm a fag.'"I do have feminine ways. Maybe I'm not the guy who kicks off a fight in a club. Now I'm 30 I've accepted that. Because of that I ended up having a number one album - people are tired of that."I've realised everything I'm not made me everything I am."The rapper also revealed he once had a close encounter with a drunken fan in the toilet. He said: "I was in a club taking a p**s and this guy was making comments like, 'Mr East!' just drunk and acting stupid, and he slaps me on the back to get my attention. And I told him, 'Look, I don't feel comfortable holding my d**k with another man's hand on me. Unless you want me to turn around in the middle of this.' "

KAYNE WEST RESPECTS JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

Kanye West says Justin Timberlake is his nemesis. The rapper believes the 'SexyBack' singer is the only star that can both rival and inspire him.He told hip-hop magazine XXL: "My biggest inspiration and biggest competition is Justin Timberlake. He is the only other person that gets an across-the-board response and respect both on black radio and white radio."Kanye says he and Justin are on a different level to everyone else and has compared their healthy rivalry to Prince and Michael Jackson's chart battle in the 80s.He added: "If Justin hadn't come out and killed the game, I can't say that my album, singles and videos would be on the same level that they're on. We push each other. I look at me and Justin like Prince and Michael Jackson in their day."The Grammy-award winner also insists he is not interested in record sales but instead concentrates on connecting with his fans.He said: "I feel like my lyrics are, if not THE, then equal to, the realest lyrics out. I connected with so many people without talking about guns and drugs. It's harder to go to work 365 days than shoot a person in one day."However, Kanye realises his arrogance could hinder his chances of success. He revealed: "When people come up to you like, 'That was really good,' you're supposed to play stupid, like, 'Wow, you really think so?'"Because people can't really handle the truth. But I am the truth. I'd rather be hated for what I am than loved for what I'm not."

KAYNE WEST LAPS IT AT STRINGFELLOWS

Kanye West reportedly allegedly failed to pay for his lap dances at a London strip club. The rapper and a group of friends were enjoying a night out at the world famous Stringfellows, where the club's female dancers performed a number of raunchy routines for them. However, despite Kanye's superstar status and wealth, the girls claim he was less then generous when it came to rewarding them. One told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "You would have thought we would have had a great night but it was awful. They didn't even pay for all the dances."When we realised it was Kanye we thought it would be a big night for us and he'd spend loads of money. That happens when men come in big groups. I guess they get carried away."Earlier in the evening, Kanye and his 20-strong entourage had been in top London nightclub, Mahiki, where he partied wildly with sexy singer Rihanna. An onlooker said: "They were playing drinking games. It was so wild that glasses were smashed and drinks were spilled all over Kanye. But he wasn't bothered."He was diving on Rihanna and some friends and rolling about with laughter. And when Nelly's 'Hot In Here' came on he did a mini-strip, whipping off his cardigan to cheers from the entire table."

KAYNE WEST WITH HIS CURRY DANCERS

Kanye West has spent $4,000 having a curry delivered from Britain to the US. The rapper ordered a takeaway feast of biryanis, bhajees, breads, poppadums, fish dishes and curried vegetables from Raj's in Newport, South Wales. Head waiter, Tarik Mohammed, said: "I was horrified when I heard about this request because of the distance involved."It's a long way, and our reputation is on the line. We are doing everything to make sure the food gets there safely and every thing is above board."The meal was ordered for Kanye and seven guests by a music promoter on Sunday night. It will be served on Wednesday during a high-powered meeting. The food will be made by head chef Kaysor Ahmed and then cooled, shrink-wrapped and packed in dry ice before being flown by helicopter to Heathrow airport on Tuesday and then delivered to New York. The head chef will fly to the US with the food, to make sure it arrives in pristine condition. The complete bill will be $3,900, including travel and accommodation.
