KATHY GRIFFIN TAKES BACK DONALD TRUMP APOLOGY

Kathy Griffin On The View

Kathy Griffin says she is taking back her apology.

Griffin says she regrets apologizing for the controversial Trump photoshoot, says she "wanted to make a statement of what a misogynist he is": "The First Amendment is the First Amendment for a reason — it's the first one!"

"I'm not holding back." Griffin discusses her comeback: "This president is different — and I have been through the mill and I'm back on the road."

Hot Topics: Trump holds rally in Michigan as he skips White House correspondents' dinner
Ana Navarro says she was struck by Pres. Trump's controversial comments: "I can't bring myself to hold a comedian for one night to a higher standard than we hold the President of the United States for his entire term!"

"If we're gonna have a real conversation about the White House Correspondents' Dinner, about the tenor of what happened there, about the tone, about civility — we also have to condemn and look at what he's doing!" Navarro added.

KATHY GRIFFIN TALKS FOX NEWS AND ALCOHOLIC MOM

****
Star Dishes To HuffPost Live
****

Kathy Griffin

Comedian Kathy Griffin has talked openly about disliking Fox News, but she took it one step further on HuffPost Live, telling host Marc Lamont Hill that she finds Fox News even more irritating because her mother watches it, and that she used to Griffin "hate watch" the network for comedic material.

Griffin: “The bane of my existence is that my 94-year-old alcoholic mother calls Bill O'Reilly her boyfriend... That's a bitter pill to swallow. And she thinks that Sean Hannity... delivers news.”

Griffin also sounded off on her bestie, Anderson Cooper, saying, "I'm his personal war zone."

Griffin: “He's terrified. He says that he sweats more with me on New Year’s on those risers in the middle of Times Square -- where one year I believe it was 13 degrees -- than he does in any war zone. And I take pride in that. I am his personal war zone. This is his war zone, right here.”

KATHY GRIFFIN DISHES ON ELVIS DURAN SHOW

****
ON THE RADIO WITH

ELVIS DURAN AND THE MORNING SHOW
****

Kathy Griffin Comes Clean With Elvis Duran

It's no surprise Kathy Griffin, who is in town for her comedy show this friday at Carnegie Hall, opens up to Elvis FIRST about current celebrity "happenings." Elvis, who is brilliant at creating a comfortable environment in his Tribeca Z100 studio, let Kathy voice her opinions over the air waves this morning. Elvis pointed out during the interview how Kathy, who is known for taking jabs at many of these celebrities, has been often seen hanging around them. Elvis voiced his concern about how being in these circles now, could eventually tarnish her reputation as the "peoples person." Kathy quickly set Elvis at ease, as she explained that although she may be friends with some, there is no rule/agreement made preventing her from making fun of them.

This seemed to make sense to the entire Elvis Duran Morning Crew, as they continued to laugh hearing some hysterical Kathy Griffin celebrity interpretations. Kathy Griffin stopped by "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show", before she performs at Carnegie Hall for the New York Comedy Festival, this Friday at 8 PM. Her show is titled Kathy Griffin: Bite My Big Apple. Go to NewYorkComedyFestival.com for more info. Please find some fantastic quotes below, regarding the Kardashians, Cher, Kayne West, Amanda Bynes, Miley Cyrus, Ryan Seacrest and many more!

ON TWEETING WITH CHER

“I swear I have tried to give her [Cher] a Twitter lesson, although, I am turning into my own 93 year old alcoholic mother myself. I don’t drink, but I am also not a techie.”

ON THE KARDASHIANS

“I think there might be a turn in the world of Kardashians. I think people are done with them. I think they are done with the ones they tried to introduce this year like the boring sister in law who does yoga, and Brody who was in “The Hills”, and then I think there is one called Taffy? I think once Bruce Jenner becomes a woman it’s a completely different conversation.”

ON KRIS JENNER

“Kris Jenner has repeatedly said can you please stop calling my daughters dirty whores. I said no, its important, and what I do for America."

ON THE TWO SIDES OF KANYE WEST

“There is Kanye the musician and that’s fine, and there is the Taylor Swift moment which is the greatest thing that ever happened to her. She now has a pass for life. She could actually kick kittens in the face and we would be like, ‘Aw but there was that one time Kanye tried to take your award!’”

ON MILEY CYRUS

“I’m all about Miley. I love slutty Miley. I don’t care for Hannah Montana I find her boring. I like nudity on a wrecking ball.”

ON AMANDA BYNES

“Let me say this about Amanda Bynes. She is kind of not off limits. She is actually getting real legit health care and there are so many people that have whatever she has and aren’t, that I feel like she is going to be ok. She is in a fortunate position where people care about her and looking after her and she has parents.”

ON RYAN SEACREST

“I would say Ryan Seacrest and I have a cordial relationship because he gets that its all in good fun. Demi Lovato has an army. I get more death threats from Demi Lovato fans called Lovatics and the Tea Party than really any other group. Those two describe it in graphic detail.”

ON GWYNETH PALTROW

“Gwyneth Paltrow is not having my crap. I tried to make her laugh and she wasn’t having it. I had an 8x10 photo made and I signed it, “To Gwyneth”, and I signed her name wrong because I knew it would drive her crazy.”

ON DOING STAND UP

“When you do live stand up you really live for a moment where Justin Bieber is covered in probably a dirty bed sheet leaving a brothel… allegedly. This is almost knocking the Kanye rant out of my act.”

ON JOHN MAYER AND HOW SHE APPROACHES CELEBRITIES

“Recently I saw John Mayer and he kind of did the two fingers crossed like as if he was performing an exorcism. I do get that a lot. I am all about the observation. I call it like the boom mic. I have an imaginary one. I am not into confronting celebrities I’d rather observe and then talk smack about them later behind their backs.”

TV LAND ANNOUNCES MORE HONORED SHOWS

Valerie Bertinelli

TV Land announced today that the beloved casts of “Laverne & Shirley” (Penny Marshall, Cindy Williams, Michael McKean and David L. Lander) and “One Day At A Time” (Valerie Bertinelli, Bonnie Franklin, Mackenzie Phillips, Glenn Scarpelli and Pat Harrington Jr.) as well as pop culture phenomenon “Pee-wee’s Playhouse” will be honored at the “TV Land Awards” 10th Anniversary celebration. The star-studded awards show, which honors classic television, film and music icons, will be held at the Lexington Avenue Armory at Gramercy Park on Saturday, April 14th and air on Sunday, April 29th at 9pm ET/PT. More honorees will be announced in coming weeks. They join previously announced honoree Aretha Franklin (Music Icon Award) and second-time host Kelly Ripa for the special decade ceremony.

“Laverne & Shirley” still lives in the hearts of viewers everywhere and is the recipient of this year’s Fan Favorite Award, which goes to a series that’s an All-American classic, with characters who became our friends, stories we could all relate to and irresistible laughs. This is the first time the cast of “Laverne & Shirley” will be reunited on television in nearly a decade. “Laverne & Shirley” aired on ABC for eight seasons from 1976-1983 and was a spinoff of the Garry Marshall hit “Happy Days.” But the show soon found its own avid fans, thanks to loveable stars Penny Marshall as Laverne De Fazio and Cindy Williams as Shirley Feeney, who play best friends and roommates working in a Milwaukee brewery. Constantly annoyed by their neighbors, Leonard “Lenny” Kosnowski (Michael McKean) and Andrew “Squiggy” Squiggman (David L. Lander), Laverne and Shirley learn to navigate their lives as two single young women in 1950s Milwaukee – and later in the series, 1960s Los Angeles.

“One Day At A Time” is being presented with the Innovator Award, which is given to a television series that carved out new territory, tackled important issues of its day and helped re-defined its genre. The series, which was a hybrid drama/comedy, addressed such taboo topics as pre-marital sex, suicide, sexual harassment and more, breaking barriers and paving the way for future shows to tackle these issues as well. Developed and written in part by TV visionary Norman Lear, “One Day At A Time” aired on CBS for nine seasons from 1975-1984. Starring Bonnie Franklin, Valerie Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips as Ann Romano, Barbara Cooper and Julie Cooper, the series revolved around a family headed by a single mother (Franklin) that relocates to Indianapolis, where their new apartment building super, Dwayne Schneider (Pat Harrington Jr.), befriends them. Also taking part in the cast reunion is Glenn Scarpelli, who joined the series in 1980 as the son of Ann’s boyfriend, Nick.

The 22-time Emmy® Award-winning children’s series, "Pee-wee’s Playhouse,” ran on CBS for five seasons from 1986-1991 and has been a staple in pop culture for over 25 years. The title character is portrayed by actor and comedy icon, Paul Reubens, who created what is widely considered one of the most innovative and ground-breaking children's programs in television history. Reubens' wonderfully diverse and colorful playhouse filled with puppets, genies, robots, cowboys and pterodactyls sparked countless imaginations and brought joy and laughter to children and adults alike. The show has been named one of “Top 25 Cult Shows Ever” by TV Guide Magazine, and Pee-wee is more popular than ever with a hit Broadway show, HBO Special, and enormous social media following with millions of followers on Twitter and Facebook. Fittingly, “Pee-wee’s Playhouse” will receive the Pop Culture Award at the “TV Land Awards” 10th Anniversary ceremony.

The "TV Land Awards" pays tribute to classic and contemporary luminaries of television, music and movies. The 90-minute telecast will feature exhilarating musical performances and will reunite some of the most iconic celebrity TV casts.

Previous honorees include Regis Philbin, Michael J. Fox, John Travolta, Bill Cosby, Mike Myers, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Garry Marshall, the cast of "Glee," "Desperate Housewives" and the hilarious sitcoms "Cheers," “The Cosby Show,” “Family Ties,” “The Facts of Life,” "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Bosom Buddies," "Welcome Back, Kotter," "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and "M*A*S*H*." Past presenters include Academy Award©-winner Halle Berry, Barbara Walters, Justin Timberlake, Ray Romano, Steve Carell, Billy Crystal, Sharon Stone, Robin Williams and Academy Award©-nominee Robert Downey, Jr., to name a few. Past musical performers include Liza Minnelli, Stevie Wonder, Blondie, Diana Ross, Willie Nelson and Lionel Richie.

Michael Levitt ("Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List," "Billboard Music Awards," "Scream Awards") is executive producer; Five-time Emmy Award©-winning Glenn Weiss is director (“Primetime Emmy Awards,” “BET Awards,” “The Tony Awards”); Greg Sills serves as supervising producer ("VH1 Rock Honors," "The Teen Choice Awards," "Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards"); Gary Tellalian is producer and TV Land's Larry W. Jones and Casey Patterson are executive producers. Tim Bruno is executive in charge of production for TV Land.

KATHY GRIFFIN SAYS SARAH PALIN IS A MORON

****
In this weeks Steppin Out magazine, D-lister turned B-lister, Kathy Griffin sits down with Chaunce Hayden and tears Sarah Palin to shreds but keeps her paws off President Obama. Griffin also takes a shot at her former E! Network boss.
****
Kathy Griffin

ON SARAH PALIN:

Sarah Palin was such an extreme character. She's such an idiot and such a moron. She's just so stupid. I'm so tired of people saying she's a strong woman. She's not strong, she's just obnoxious. There's a different between someone who's just ballsy and stupid and someone who is a strong woman. I think it's great that Tina and other people shed light on that fact. I also thought that Sarah Palin made a mistake by trying to play the gender card with people like me and Tina. Just because you're a woman doesn't mean we're going to vote for you. Sorry!

ON MAKING FUN OF PRESIDENT OBAMA:

It's a place I don't want to go right now. It's just not there. These things have a way of obviously presenting themselves. It's not that I'm just a die-hard liberal that I could never make fun of a democrat. Believe me I could go on and on, on [former Illinois Governor] Rob Bogovich all day long. That guy should be on the MTV show “Tool Academy” and he should never get kicked out. What it comes down to is that some celebrities really lend themselves to my act and some of them just don't.

So you don't have targets that you go after for personal reasons?

No, it's not like I go gunning for certain celebrities. And I don't give certain celebrities free passes because I share their ideology. And in the case of Obama, there's just nothing there yet.

ON GETTING CNN BIG RATINGS AND STICKS IT TO
HER FORMER BOSSES AT E!

I read in Variety that CNN had regrets but I don't think so. They tripled their ratings! I'm sure Ted Harbert who fired me from the E! Network sees that I'm tripling ratings for another cable network and if anyone has regrets it's him.

KATHY GRIFFIN DOES NEW YORK MARRIAGE

Kathy Griffin

Reality show star Kathy Griffin flew from Los Angeles to New York over the weekend to marry two huge fans. Brian Anstey and Elka Shapiro asked the comic to officiate at their wedding, because they bonded over a mutual love of her comedy act. And they were stunned when she agreed to be ordained and attend the Queens ceremony yesterday. Griffin, 47, says, "The request came in, and how could I say no?" After a 10 minute ceremony littered with expletives, Shapiro said, "Neither of us is affiliated with any particular religion, and the major factor in our relationship is the laughter. Kathy was fantastic and had us all in hysterics during the ceremony."We are so lucky that she agreed to marry us because it’s so unusual and something we’ll always remember."

KATHY GRIFFIN DROPPED FROM THE VIEW

Kathy Griffin

Reality show star Kathy Griffin has been dropped from "The View" once again for the second time, after she was "mean" to co-host Barbara Walters. The star was due to appear on the Television talk show on Tuesday, to coincide with the final night of her sold out show in New York City, but she was left fuming after being scrapped at the last minute. She tells the New York Post's gossip column Page Six, "I was supposed to be on 'The View' (today). But then I get a call from (producer) Bill Geddie, and he says, 'You were too mean to Barbara on your last special, so you can't come on.' Can you believe it? I've been banned before but never re-banned!" Griffin co-hosted "The View" on a number of occasions following the departure of Rosie O'Donnell, but rumors say that Walters and Griffin don't get along.
