Jon Bon Jovi

Rock icon Bon Jovi's legal mess over their baseball anthem is not over yet. The man who filed a $400 billion plagiarism suit against them last year is taking the case back to court. Massachusetts musician Samuel Bartley Steele filed papers in October, 2008 alleging the group copied lyrics from his 2004 song "(Man I Really) Love This Team," which was used as the theme tune for the famed Boston Red Sox. Steele is alleging Jon Bon Jovi heard the song while campaigning for U.S. Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry in 2004, and used the track's lyrics to create the hit song "I Love This Town". The song was later used as a promotional track for Major League Baseball. A judge dismissed the case in 2008 after Steele's own musicologist agreed the songs weren't very similar, but Steele has decided to challenge the decision. He filed a notice of appeal to the First Circuit Federal Court on Friday.

Jon Bon Jovi

Rock Legend Jon Bon Jovi has turned his back on Hollywood. The star is insisting he wants "no part" of the superficial celebrity lifestyle. The singer has enjoyed movie success in films like "Pay It Forward" and "U-571," but he has never considered turning his back on his New Jersey roots and moving to Los Angeles California. He also says family life with his wife Dorothea and their four children is far more important to him than the glitz and glamor of Tinseltown. He tells the New York Post's Cindy Adams, "I know one thing. I am definitely not a product of that Hollywood-style life. I don't like how they live, what they do, or even the way they do it. It's a shallow pool out there. "I totally understand how tough that is on true values and what it can do to a person and a family. I know I want no part of the Hollywood life. That stuff is not for me."

Jon Bon Jovi used to be a drug dealer. The Bon Jovi frontman confessed he bought and sold marijuana while he was a struggling teenager growing up in New Jersey. He said: "I did the drug thing very young and wised up very young too, because I was into drugs a little too much."I was entrepreneurial even then, buying quarter pounds of dope and trying to make a couple of bucks."The 'Livin' On A Prayer' singer says a bad experience with illegal substances at an early age stopped him from becoming a user when he eventually found fame and fortune. The father-of-four said: "Did you ever smoke dope that was laced with PCP (phencyclidine) and then have that whole summer of hallucinations? It was f***ing awful."That's why I've never been a drug guy. I always felt I didn't have the mental stability."Bon Jovi recently revealed he is embarrassed to let his kids see his old 80s hairstyle. The rock star - who has sold 120 million albums since Bon Jovi shot to fame in the early 80s - admitted he hasn't shown his children DVDs of his old concerts for fear of what they might think. He said: "I've heard Richie Sambora (guitarist) and Dave Bryan (keyboard player) say they played their kids a DVD of our old concerts from 20 years ago, and they were really laughing. But I've never done that."They would probably laugh at my 80s hair. Sure they would. I laugh at it - it's part of growing up in public."

Richie Sambora has checked into rehab. The Bon Jovi guitarist entered a Los Angeles facility on Wednesday the reasons for which have not been disclosed.A spokesman for Bon Jovi said: "Richie Sambora has entered an undisclosed treatment facility in Los Angeles."He asks that you respect his and his family's privacy at this time."Sambora split from actress Denise Richards in March after dating for almost a year. The 47-year-old rocker's divorce from Heather Locklear was finalised in April and then tragically his father died of lung cancer on April 21.A source said: "Richie has had a terrible year."I think this was a culmination of all these things and finally he realized he needed to take care of himself. He'd put off everything for so long taking care of everyone else it was just time to stop and deal with his issues."Bon Jovi are scheduled to play a short series of tour dates this summer, beginning on June 24 in London. A much larger tour is planned for 2008,while the band's new album, 'Lost Highway', is due out on June 19. Meanwhile, the group taped a performance for MTV's 'Unplugged' series in New York on Tuesday. MTV was partly inspired to create the now famous format by Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi's acoustic performance at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards.

Jon Bon Jovi reportedly hates bandmate Richie Sambora's girlfriend Denise Richards, and wants to ban her from joining the group on tour. Singer Jon is said to be fed up with the 'Wild Girls' actress distracting the guitarist and has made it clear to Richie he prefers it when she is not around. A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Jon does not like Denise. She's distracting. There's too much media attention when Denise is around, and Jon thinks she's really annoying and doesn't like when Richie's around her."The final straw came when Denise travelled to Dublin to see the band during their 'Have a Nice Day' tour last year, prompting a media circus. The situation is allegedly so serious Richie's place in the band could be under threat. The source added: "Bon Jovi the band is literally just Jon Bon Jovi. Everyone else is an employee, like a member of staff."Bon Jovi's representative has vehemently denied the reports, saying they are simply "not true". Richie and Denise started dating last year, while she was in the middle of her bitter divorce battle with ex-husband Charlie Sheen and the rocker was involved in his own divorce from estranged wife Heather Locklear - who was once a close friend of Denise's.

Bill Clinton

Jon Bon Jovi told former President Bill Clinton about a new plan to restore homes in one of Philadelphia's most blighted neighborhoods. Clinton stood beside the rocker in Philadelphia on Thursday as he announced his project, called the Phase V Home ownership Project, to renovate 15 decaying homes, on two blocks on the city's north side. Bon Jovi, co-owner of the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League and creator of the team's charity foundation, teamed up with Habitat for Humanity, the Saturn automobile company and a local charity for the effort. He's been on a philanthropy kick lately. Last year, he and fellow Bon Jovi band mate Richie Sambora surprised Oprah Winfrey with a $1 million donation to her Angel Network and Habitat for Humanity to build 28 homes in the Hurricane Katrina-ravaged town of Houma, La.
