JOHN MAYER HINTING ABOUT RETIREMENT

Singing star John Mayer is hinting that he will have a early retirement from the music industry after he completes his summer tour. Mayer is currently in the middle of his European tour, but has indicated to USA Today that he may never release another album again. He says, "I'm not sure when I'll come back with another record. I feel like I've done everything I can do with this set of tools." Mayer's last release, "The Village Sessions" EP, hit stores in December 2006.

Singer John Mayer and actress Jennifer Aniston are reportedly spending a second romantic weekend together in Florida, fuelling more speculation they are a Hollywood couple.The pair was photographed embracing on a Miami, Florida beach last month, and since then, reports keep coming in that they are serious. Mayer has been hinting that the rumors are true, insisting the camera never lies, but the stars have yet to confirm their relationship. Mayer has now reportedly flown back to the city from New York to spend two days with the former Friends star. And both are reportedly keen to keep their meetings hidden from the paparazzi this time.A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Things are going well between them. But this time they want it to be private, so they will be keeping a low profile."

Former Talk Show host Ricki Lake has denied tabloid reports she’s romantically involved with John Mayer after the singer confessed he has had a crush on her for years.Lake met Mayer at a Christmas party last week, and the pair exchanged phone numbers before going their separate ways.But Lake insists rumors of a romance are far fetched.She says, "I swear to God, there is no story. I met him at a party. He admitted he had a crush and I admitted, hey, vice versa. That was it. I wish there was actually something to tell. There was nothing." Meanwhile rumors are abound when Mayer was spotted recently walking down a New York City street kissing a guy and holding his hand.

Jessica Simpson's dad "loves" her new boyfriend John Mayer.The singer-and-actress, who has been dating the musician since last August, has won her father Joe's approval with her latest relationship. Joe told People magazine: "If Jessica is in love, I love the things she is in love with."I want her to be happy. I'm always a fan of John. I love him - he's got great music."Jessica's father hasn't always approved of her previous lovers. He warned his daughter marrying Nick Lachey could ruin her career. Jessica, whose divorce from former 98 Degrees singer Nick was finalised last June, said: "Everybody thought, including my father, that my marriage to Nick would kill my career."Joe is convinced Jessica will be happier with John because they have a different fan base and are equally famous. He explained: "I think the beautiful thing is that he and Jessica don't do the same thing. He's a legend already. There is no competition. He's a guitarist - that's his thing. Jessica is a singer. She doesn't play guitar, so there's no competition."Jessica joined John on tour in Australia last month, and is currently in France attending the Cannes Film Festival.
