Jerry Springer’s Statement on the AHCA Healthcare Bill Passing The House

James Edstrom & Jerry Springer

May 4th will likely not be remembered as much as 9/11… and yet, what Congress did last Thursday will end up killing many more Americans than Osama bin Laden ever did.

With millions and millions of people facing the reality of being dropped from insurance plans (unless the Senate defeats this bill), does anyone seriously believe that only 3000 Americans will die because they couldn’t afford a doctor, or a treatment, or medicine or a hospital?

This cruel and utterly insensitive attack on middle and low-income Americans is an act of war… no less deadly and unconscionable, simply because the perpetrators of this legislative violence happen to be wealthy white men who reside in Washington.

The picture of Republican Congressmen gathering on the White House lawn smiling, laughing, clapping and cheering what they just did is, frankly, chillingly disgusting and reminiscent of Marie Antoinette’s “Let them eat cake!”

This isn’t just politics. It isn’t just Republican vs. Democrat. It’s indecency. You wonder what kind of person is perfectly comfortable with removing protection from fellow Americans who face a cancer diagnosis, heart disease or any other medical condition or emergency that threatens their life or the lives of their family.

Never mind that we the taxpayers pay the health insurance of every one of these Congressmen. I mean, will they be willing to give up THEIR insurance to get a taste of the panic and despair they just visited on millions of others?

Good Lord! What did they just do? What moral ethic condones this? What religion suggests this is appropriate? What kind of patriotism preaches love of America… but the hell with protecting Americans?

We’re better than that. Aren’t we?

To the members of Congress who laughingly voted for this…it’s not just about how your constituents can live…it’s about how YOU can live…with yourself.

Jerry Springer With New Friend Sea Lion

Jerry Springer

Those of you who are worried that your favorite talk show host, Jerry Springer, got swallowed up by a shark in Sharknado 3 - don't fret. We have good sources that tell us he survived the attack and is staying away from the man eating sharks from now on and only hanging out with Sea Lions instead.

After many years of man eating guests on his top rated show, the shark was no match for Jerry.

James Edstrom And Jerry Springer

Throughout an illustrious career, Jerry Springer has become a cultural and civic icon. In addition to hosting The Jerry Springer Show, going into its 25th season, he has been the mayor of Cincinnati, political pundit, lawyer, Emmy award-winning newscaster, game show host, country recording artist, international emcee, TV personality and author. He has been in movies and on Broadway, he's a progressive talk-radio broadcaster and Springer won America's heart with his ballroom dancing. Springer now adds Podcast Host to his long line of accomplishments.

The Jerry Springer Podcast; Tales, Tunes and Tomfoolery, is an eclectic mix of stories, interviews, conversations and comedy bits. Each 30 minute podcast concludes with original music performed by local musicians. The podcast is recorded in front of a small studio audience at the Folk School Coffee Parlor in Ludlow, Kentucky.

Springer shares the mic with his friend of 45 years, Jene Galvin. The two met during Springer’s political years in the early 1970’s in Cincinnati and have shared a brotherly bond ever since. Bringing the female perspective is Megan Hils. Both Hils and Galvin worked on Springer’s Air America radio broadcast for its two year run. Back together the three fell into a rhythm of talking about topics ranging from politics, current event and tough social/political discussion to radio-comedy skits, interviews, music and lots of humor.

Springer is excited about the opportunity to talk openly about all these topics saying, “I’m excited to be a part of my first-ever podcast with my friends Jene and Megan. I’m also excited to eventually learn what a podcast is.”

Among the conversations on the podcast is with a Freedom Rider who spent 42 days in a Mississippi prison in 1961 singing songs to pass the trying hours, a discussion of whether teachers should be armed to protect their kids from violent attacks, and celebrity parodies of Sarah Palin and Ann Coulter are among the unpredictable possibilities.

Jerry Springer At Carnegie Deli

Not many restaurants piss me off, but Ben's Kosher Deli just did.

Every time my mother visits New York City, she wants Carnegie Deli. She wants her Pastrami and Corned Beef on Rye sandwich. This time I made a bad mistake.

I decided to try and save walking and time by going to Ben's Kosher Deli on 38th street and 7th avenue. I thought maybe it would be the same. I ordered her favorites at a cost at almost 17 bucks and I left the restaurant. Outside I feel like the bag is very light, so I open it up. To my surprise, the sandwich was small and there was no Corned Beef. I go back inside and ask for a refund. I am told the manager is downstairs and I will have to wait a while. I tell them I can not wait and I just want a refund. I tell them that this is a disgrace, that they sell this sandwich for almost 17 bucks and it is so small, my mother would still be hungry.

The manager comes upstairs, and instead of trying to fix the problem, he argues with me that the sandwich weighs a pound. He then goes behind the counter and throws the meat on the scale. The scale shows its not a pound and he is picking scrapes off the counter to make it add up to a pound. I ask him where the Corned Beef is, and he starts pulling apart the meat, telling me this is Corned Beef and this is Pastrami. To me they looked the same. Fatty meat on a very small sandwich and there was no Russian dressing like I had ordered.

Now I know why this place was just about empty. As I looked around, almost every table was empty. It could only be because they serve these kind of sandwiches. Ben's Kosher Deli is located right in the middle of the Fashion District. The place should have been packed with workers and tourists. It was not. I was amazed that the manager would not have offered to fix the sandwich, instead of arguing with me. Not only will I never go back, I am telling my readers to skip this place.

After leaving Ben's Kosher Deli, I decided there was only one real place to get a Pastrami and Corned Beef sandwich and that was The Carnegie Deli. I walked up there and ordered the sandwich. It was huge and made the way it was supposed to be. The place was packed, which tells you that good food and good service brings in the customers. The sandwich was so big, my mother said she will have leftovers to have on her plane ride home. If you want real Kosher food, don't settle for less, go to Carnegie Deli on 55th street and 7th avenue. You can even order the Jerry Springer Sandwich. You won't be disappointed!

BRETT WINTERBLE, on Sirius/XM (Sirius/XM-channel 168) scooped the East Coast Monday (and, even ABC’s The View) when he had on attorney Jose Baez (Casey Anthony) and unearthed several key points from the book. First, that he and his pregnant wife checked into the hospital under assumed names as his wife gave birth and, that his house accidentally went into foreclosure, because he was so wrapped up in the Anthony-case. His book, Presumed Guilty is a runaway best-seller.

Winterble, in the last two weeks, has had on a wide-ranging series of guests, including: Karen Lynn Gorney from the film Saturday Night Fever; Bobby-producer Edward Bass; sex-therapist Debra Laino; Carmine Appice, the drummer from the legendary band, Vanilla Fudge; Dr. Taylor Rutledge who produced the documentary about DDT called 3 Billion and Counting; Director Tanya Wexler, who’s new film Hysteria stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and Hugh Dancy; Monkee-Micky Dolenz; Surpreme-Mary Wilson; music newcomer Adrian Niles; Gene Cornish, from The Rascals; Soprano-actor Robert Funaro; Harry Haun from Playbill; music man Kal Rudman; and, yesterday Times Square Gossip’s own James Edstrom, where the topic of Jerry Springer was discussed. Says Brett, “Jerry Springer is a really versatile voice in the debate. You know where Jerry stands, politically, but, even though you might disagree with him, he always remains civil. It'd be hard to picture Jerry throwing f-bombs at people he disagrees with. I think being around lesbian strippers and doing paternity tests with state prison inmates has a softening effect on you as a host! Radio is more fun when people come at it in a less than rigid way. Springer is a lot of things, Rigid, ain't one of them!"

Though Winterble is a fierce politico - listen to some of his podcasts, he's thoroughly engaging when talking to entrainment personalities. "I would like my show to be ...thought of as a place that is comprised of an ongoing conversation with topics that cross hours, days, even weeks. An ongoing conversation of entertainment and politics with a dose of sarcasm and tongue in cheek humor."

Next week, the host will talk to legendary-comedian Pat Cooper; TV’s Joe Franklin; adult-film legend Houston; Randy Jones from The Village People; Toronto-based writer Jacqueline Boyd; and, Daily Variety TV-editor Brian Lowry.

The Winterble has landed!

"Baggage," hosted by television icon Jerry Springer, has been sold to station groups representing more than 95% of the U.S. including Tribune, Sinclair, Sunbeam, Gannett, Hearst and Weigel. The daily half-hour relationship game show will air on stations in the nation’s top markets including WPIX-TV New York, WCIU-TV Chicago, WPHL-TV Philadelphia, WLVI-TV Boston, WATL-TV Atlanta, WKCF-TV Orlando, WTTE-TV Columbus, Ohio, WSTR-TV Cincinnati and WNUV-TV Baltimore.

"'Baggage’, produced by Comcast Entertainment Studios, is a proven show with fan-favorite Jerry Springer as host, and we are thrilled to bring it to broadcast stations this Fall," said Wallach. “The format is edgy and is built for a young-skewing audience perfectly suited for both early and late fringe time periods.”

“The concept that every dater has hidden baggage- small, medium and large has struck a chord with GSN's viewers,” said Amy Introcaso-Davis, Executive Vice President, Programming and Development. “Its pop cultural relevance has made Baggage a top performer, and we are excited to partner with NBCUniversal Domestic Television to bring this buzzy show to a new audience."

During its test run in 10 markets, "Baggage" improved in all demos versus the prior sweep time period (February 2011 vs. November 2010) by an average of 26% in Women 18-34, 18% in Women 18-49, 21% in Women 25-54, 39% in Men 18-34 and by 31% in Adults 18-34. Additionally, "Baggage" was #1 in its time period with Women 18-34 in Philadelphia and Cincinnati, while improving in key demos by double and triple figures in each market; including +158% in Adults 18-49 in Tampa vs. its lead in ("Seinfeld") and +240% in Adults 18-49 in Milwaukee vs. November 2010 time period ("Everybody Loves Raymond.")

On each half-hour episode of “Baggage,” Host Jerry Springer guides the fun as one dater chooses among three contestants who reveal the intimate secrets and hidden flaws that are typically kept under wraps to impress a first date. Each contestant enters with three suitcases—small, medium and large—containing the quirky, annoying and sometimes truly shocking ‘baggage’ that may or may not eliminate the contestants from competition, to the accompaniment of the dater’s tagline, “I’m sorry, but you have too much baggage.” “Baggage” is produced by a unit of Comcast Entertainment Studios, with Jay James and Tim Puntillo serving as Executive Producers.

Jerry Springer On Baggage

GSN's original hit series "Baggage", in which daters share their surprising, sometimes downright shocking 'baggage', was just named one of Entertainment Weekly's "Top Guilty Pleasures" and was prominently featured in the new HBO hit series "Girls". And, in her recent review of the show for, June Thomas began with "Baggage is Real, and It Is Spectacular."

GSN is airing first-run episodes of BAGGAGE throughout the month of May on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. (ET) and on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. (ET).

On each half-hour episode of BAGGAGE, host Jerry Springer guides the fun as one dater chooses among three contestants, who reveal the intimate secrets and hidden flaws that are typically kept under wraps to impress a first date. Each contestant enters with three suitcases—small, medium and large—containing the quirky, annoying and sometimes outrageous “baggage” that may or may not eliminate the contestants from competition, to the accompaniment of the dater’s tagline, “I’m sorry, but you have too much baggage.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, in its May 11, 2012 issue, Baggage is "so good because we wind up someplace even guiltier and gaudier…." On "GIRLS," Shoshanna insists that Hannah watch the show with her, leading to a lengthy of discussion of what each girl's own small, medium, and large baggage would be. (For Shoshanna, not loving her grandmother is medium baggage; her large suitcase would contain "being a virgin.")

New episodes of BAGGAGE running in May include daters whose baggage includes (among many, many other things) making dates pass a psychological exam, having a skull collection, dressing as a superhero on weekends, living with wild animals, and gambling away an ex’s savings.

Critics have said of BAGGAGE: "Baggage is all overshare, and I am under its spell" (Dan Snierson, Entertainment Weekly); “Baggage has proved to be very entertaining… Jerry Springer is the perfect host for the show” (Gabrielle Rice, Yahoo!), and "Baggage is Real, and It Is Spectacular" (June Thomas, Slate).

Talk show icon Jerry Springer finally confessed that he is a Baby Daddy! And it seems that his long lost son is Ronnie from Jersey Shore! Who knew...

Ronnie and Jerry kept running into each other in New York this week - first on Fox and Friends and later on New York Live. Spending time together in the green rooms of each show, Jerry joked to Ronnie that he was his long lost son and the joke kept going on all day. Jerry thought Ronnie was a really nice fellow and liked spending time with him - but Ronnie really needs to get to a gym. HA!

Never won an Emmy, Not going to start now!” said talk show icon Jerry Springer of his daily talk show, The Jerry Springer Show. Now in its 21st season, Jerry still has not won that coveted Emmy award, or any other award for that matter. Will that streak be broken? Maybe. Why? Because Jerry has been nominated as Best Host - Reality / Game Show by the CableFax for his game show, Baggage, on the Game Show Network. The CableFax awards will be given out in LA Tuesday, October 18th.

"But for having to rent a tuxedo, I am grateful for the honor." states Springer, giddy with excitement.

Having opened to a sold out audience last Friday night, New Wimbledon Theatre is delighted to announce a forthcoming Hollywood addition to this year’s swashbuckling pantomime Peter Pan. Following in the footsteps of fellow American David Hasselhoff, Jerry Springer will play the role of Captain Hook at selected performances throughout January 2011 opposite the inimitable Louie Spence who stars as the Cabin Boy, Roger.

The British-born American television presenter has enjoyed a long and successful television and film career on both sides of the Atlantic including his notorious chat show ‘The Jerry Springer Show’, ‘America’s Got Talent’ and ‘Dancing with the Stars’ plus UK programs including ‘Have I Got News For You’, ‘The Friday Night Project’ and ‘This Morning’. No stranger to the stage, Jerry also starred as Billy Flynn in the London production of ‘Chicago’ last year.

Jerry Springer said: “Being born in Britain I’m very familiar with the age-old tradition of pantomime and I’m honoured to have been asked by the producers First Family Entertainment to star as Captain Hook and follow in the footsteps of my friend David Hasselhoff. David and I have both starred on stage in London as Billy Flynn in Chicago so I’m glad to see I’m still hot on his heels in the casting stakes”.

Also joining the cast for three performances in December is the American actor and singer Jeremy Jackson who will also star as Captain Hook on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December. Jeremy is best known for his role as Hobie Buchannon in ‘Baywatch’, a role he played for eight years alongside his on-screen father Mitch, played by David Hasselhoff.

Peter Pan opened at New Wimbledon Theatre on Friday 10 December 2010 and has already enthralled and delighted audiences with its mix of music, comedy, stunning scenery and special effects. With tickets going fast, book now to ensure you don’t miss the magic of Neverland at New Wimbledon Theatre this Christmas.

Jerry Springer

Since I heard my friend of almost 20 years, Jerry Springer, was in NYC celebrating the 20th Anniversary of his hit show, The Jerry Springer Show ( and was going to be in the city at Madison Square Garden for America's Got Talent Live Tour, I decided to give his talented publicist Linda Shafran a call and set up a quick photo shoot outside the Plaza Hotel. I figured we could get some great shots and I could film a quick interview for and possibly for my television show that we have been filming just about everywhere in New York. We have filmed every big star but the show was missing something and that was Jerry Springer. I knew this would be fun and I knew the stuff to ask that no one even knows about Jerry, since I was one of the shows photographers in Chicago for many years. The footage we got was classic Jerry Springer.

First of all, I have to tell you how I met Jerry Springer. It had to be almost 20 years ago in a supermarket on the upper east side of New York City. Jerry was there with Sara Jessica Parker to help promote a homeless charity. The Jerry Springer Show was new and already was becoming a huge hit all over the country. I knew I wanted photos that would be different, so I asked Jerry Springer and Sara Jessica Parker if they would pose behind the bread counter, like the were working there. To my amazement, they agreed, but even more funny was the old ladies shopping in the store really thought they worked there and started ordering bread. Not to miss a beat, Jerry And Sara Jessica put on the plastic gloves and started serving the ladies. It was classic Jerry Springer and the photos went to every magazine everywhere. To this day, I still laugh at this story, because this is classic Jerry Springer. Jerry goes with the flow. Jerry never misses a beat or misses a punch line. Jerry's sense of humor is endless and this is one reason that he is such a huge talent. He sees the punch line.

One question I asked Jerry was how he felt about me coming into his life at some of the weirdest moments. Jerry's answer was flattering. He said he knew he was still alive and still in show business when he saw me. This is a classic Jerry Springer answer and I am sure I will be popping into Jerry's life for a very long time, because Jerry is the busiest man in show business and I know because I have lived it with him. He has his hit The Jerry Springer Show, America's Got Talent Live Tour and now a new game show called Baggage on the Game Show Network. With all this going on he still has time to be a nice guy, to be Jerry Springer!

Jerry Springer In Times Square

On Wednesday, October 27, host Jerry Springer celebrates the 20th anniversary of THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW in a special episode taped in Times Square in New York City. In the past 20 years, over 30,000 guests have appeared on Jerry’s stage. From the man who married his horse…to the Kung Fu Hillbilly…to stripper love triangles. As Jerry likes to say, “You can’t make this stuff up!”

Accompanying Jerry for his 20th anniversary are two models, clad in sparkling gold dresses, and of course, the show’s favorite little person, “Sassy” Cassee, a past guest who was on the show as cupid for Valentine’s Day.

The crowd goes wild screaming the infamous “Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!” chant as Jerry introduces the clips on several jumbotrons to the show’s “Best Fights,” “Sexiest Moments,” “Most Outrageous Guests,” “Best Transsexuals,” “Most Scandalous Family Secrets,” and “Best Food Fights” over the last 20 years.

When giving his final thought, Jerry said, “Thank you for the opportunity of doing this show for 20 years – and as long as I stay healthy and don’t hurt myself sliding down the pole at the beginning of each episode – I’ll continue doing it.”

THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW just began its 20th season in national syndication with its highest Household rating for a season premiere in three years--up +27% vs. last year’s season premiere. Jerry Springer finished the 2009-10 season delivering spectacular year-to-year ratings growth among Households (+18%), Total Viewers (+22%, nearly 2 million a day), Women 18-34 (+17%), Women 18-49 (+33%) and Adults 18-34 (+20%).

THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW is taped in front of a live studio audience in Stamford, CT, and is distributed in national syndication by NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution. Rachelle Wilkos is the Executive Producer.

Jerry Springer's Pig Bella

Someone is either a dog person or a cat person; rarely are they both. Whichever pet one prefers, people are fiercely loyal and don’t seem to understand their counterpart’s love of the other breed. Today two media giants are in competition on who has the most beautiful pet. If I set it up correctly, you can vote in the survey here..... If I did not, then just send me an e-mail or comment on the blog.

This latest battle came about because of WCIU-TV which runs a daily animal “beauty pageant,” ( that they say will answer the age-old question of which pet has household supremacy. The contest is called “Cats vs. Dogs,” but on September 27th a battle was held between a cat and a pig. Bella, the pig, is owned by talk show host Jerry Springer whose show airs on WCIU-TV. The cat is owned by former Sun-Times columnist Robert Feder, who has a blog on the WBEZ site.

All day on Tuesday, like in actual Chicago politics, there were accusations of unfair lobbying, voter fraud and influence peddling flying back and forth between the candidates and their supporters. Some claimed that WCIU tried to manipulate the vote by a headline on their web site which read, “"Vote for Springer's Pig!" plus they ran a video of Jerry being interviewed about Bella. Others pointed out that Feder asked for votes for Kramer in his own column.

While the lead teetered back and forth all day, at the close of balloting, Kramer won by a vote of 927 vs. 822.

Hearing about the contest, another media personality challenged feline Kramer to a real contest versus a dog. The story unfolds below.

The dog pictured is Bobby, 10, who is an Australian Terrier, not a Yorkie with a thyroid problem. Bobby is his name, but since he is not fussy, he will answer to Bob, Rob or Robert, as long as the person is holding a dog treat.

He is owned by WLS radio personality, Jake Hartford who has, according to his official bio, “Amid the intense backbiting, crushed egos, shattered careers and rampant paranoia & suspicion so prevalent in the radio business, Jake Hartford after many long years, clawed his way to the top of the Saturday morning broadcast heap on 890AM WLS.”

Kramer, 9, is a Persian cat. While you can tangle a pet's name with Bob, etc., grownups know Mr. Feder is Robert or Rob to those who know him. When you hear people try to make off like they are great personal friends with him and refer to him as Bob or Bobby, you know they don't know him at all. According to his Vocalo bio,”He has been keeping tabs on the media in Chicago for 30 years. A lifelong Chicagoan and graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, he was television and radio columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times. At age 14, he founded the first and only Walter Cronkite Fan Club”

Now you know the combatants

To help make your decision in voting, Jake wanted me to relate the following story.

Jake Hartford does not like cats. He told me, “When I was a young boy my mother was going to make a birthday cake for me. She left the two layers out to cool before she frosted them. I got home from school to find our Persian cat, Snowball, eating the middle of the cake. My mother tried to fill the cavity with more frosting, but it wasn't the same. Hated cats ever since. This contest has ripped the scab off that emotional scar. I have that mental picture of the cat on top of the counter eating the cake when I got home seared into my brain. Can't remember the first girl I had sex with but I remember the cat on the cake.”

Robert Feder’s response: "Like his sitcom namesake, Kramer is the coolest cat around. And he knows it. P.S. I sincerely hope Jake gets help for his problem."

Let the battle begin. Eat, love or spay.

Editors Note: Since I have Known Jerry Springer for years, Im going with his pig. There is no where to vote on Planet Posners site for Jerry's Pig, so I'm calling for a write in vote. Since Posner loves pork chops, I'm warning Jerry that if Bella disappears, she is the prime suspect. When Posner said the other day, "Today's pig is tomorrows pork", I thought she was talking about the Chicago police. Now I know the truth.....

The man of 1,000 jobs, Jerry Springer, takes on another one. Still hosting the popular "Jerry Springer Show," now in it's 19th season, Springer was named the host of a new strip on Game Show Network called BAGGAGE. The show will premier on April 19th. On each half-hour episode of BAGGAGE, Springer guides the fun as one dater chooses among three contestants who reveal the intimate secrets and hidden flaws that are typically kept under wraps to impress a first date. Each contestant enters with three suitcases—small, medium and large—containing the quirky, annoying and sometimes truly shocking “baggage” that may or may not eliminate the contestants from competition, to the accompaniment of the dater’s tagline, “I’m sorry, but you have too much baggage.”

Everyone brings baggage into a relationship—but only on GSN’s new dating game show BAGGAGE do three contestants and one “dater” bring it all to the very first date! World-famous talk show host Jerry Springer—a man who has seen plenty of baggage in his 19 years as host of “The Jerry Springer Show”—makes his GSN debut as host of BAGGAGE, revealing what people are willing to put up with in the name of finding love. BAGGAGE is a daily strip show airing Monday through Friday at 6:30 P.M. ET/PT, with 40 episodes running through June 11. BAGGAGE premieres on Monday, April 19 at 6:30 P.M. (ET/PT), only on GSN. On each half-hour episode of BAGGAGE, Springer guides the fun as one dater chooses among three contestants who reveal the intimate secrets and hidden flaws that are typically kept under wraps to impress a first date. Each contestant enters with three suitcases—small, medium and large—containing the quirky, annoying and sometimes truly shocking “baggage” that may or may not eliminate the contestants from competition, to the accompaniment of the dater’s tagline, “I’m sorry, but you have too much baggage.” Can the dater handle a woman who regularly consults psychics for life advice? A 40-year old man who still lives at home with mom? What if he or she is seriously in debt—or was previously an incorrigible shoplifter? With a lively pace and a playful sense of humor, BAGGAGE lifts the lid on the quirks and foibles we all share. “As everyone knows, I have met a lot of people with a lot of baggage in the course of my career, but this may be the funniest and most honest approach to it that I’ve ever seen,” says Springer. “One thing this show proves is that everyone, no matter how much baggage they have, has the potential to be a winner.” Each day’s competition features two elimination rounds, as well as personal conversations led by Springer in which contestants defend their baggage and describe the positive attributes (charisma, chivalry, career success…) that counterbalance their defects. Finally, when just one contestant remains, it’s the dater’s turn to reveal his or her own baggage (adultery? obsessions? body odor?)—and the contestant must decide whether it’s a deal-breaker or a forgivable flaw. Contestants range in age from their 20s to their 40s, with same-sex pairings getting the same consideration as straight contestants. The big question is: What’s your baggage? Are you a practicing witch—but also a former cheerleader? Are you a control freak—with a great personality? Have you stalked your ex on Facebook—but do volunteer work with children? Can the dater see through the baggage to the human being inside?

BAGGAGE host Jerry Springer has become a cultural and civic icon. In addition to being the host of the “Jerry Springer Show”—which will celebrate its 20th season this fall—Springer has been a political pundit, lawyer, Emmy Award-winning newscaster, country recording artist, international emcee and TV personality. He has been in movies and on Broadway (starring in productions of Chicago in London and New York). He's a progressive talk-radio broadcaster, and he won America's heart with his ballroom dancing on “Dancing With the Stars.” The son of Holocaust survivors, Springer holds a law degree from Northwestern University, and is a political activist who worked on Robert Kennedy’s presidential campaign and served as Mayor of Cincinnati for two terms. Springer also has hosted “America’s Got Talent,” both in primetime on NBC, as well as in the “live” version from Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. BAGGAGE is produced by a unit of Comcast Entertainment Studios, with Jay James and Tim Puntillo serving as Executive Producers.
