Talented singer Jennifer Lopez performed one of her most ever low-key concerts in New York City yesterday, when she took to the stage for an elementary school’s graduation ceremony. Jennifer was contacted by the students at Staten Island’s autistic school P.S. 37 after teacher Kathy Amati showed them the video for Lopez’s single Let’s Get Loud.The kids loved the promo so much, Amati suggested they write to Lopez in the hope of getting autographs or pictures in return. But they were very stunned when Lopez personally requested to perform at their graduation ceremony, and the group of 10 and 11-year-olds were treated to a private performance, where she sang Let’s Get Loud specially for them. Jennifer has a heart of gold. Bravo !

JENNIFER LOPEZ MEETS WITH OBAMA'S TEAM

Pop singer Jennifer Lopez traveled to Washington D.C. last week to meet with presidential candidate Barack Obama's staff and discuss health care and education. Obama was away from the capital, but Lopez, the mother of four-month-old twins Max and Emme, discussed her interest on the subjects with members of his election team. Her representative tells People.com, "Ms. Lopez was on the (Capitol) Hill with her sister to meet with staff members of several senators to discuss issues she is interested in, such as health care and education." A spokesperson for Obama confirms, "She just came in for the meeting and departed. It was not campaign-related."

The Long Island New York hospital where Jennifer Lopez will give birth has been practicing drills to prevent kidnapping attempts, but denies it has anything to do with the singers scheduled hospital stay. Staff at the North Shore Medical Center, have been taking part in a Code Pink security drill, which involves locking down the hospital if a baby goes missing. But bosses have played down kidnap fears, insisting the timing of the drill was "coincidental". Lopez and husband Marc Antony are reportedly expecting twins any day now.

Marc Anthony is worried he'll miss the delivery of his baby if it's not born in the next week.The singer has a concert scheduled in Puerto Rico on February 8, and that might keep him away from the Long Island, New York hospital where Jennifer Lopez is to give birth. In a interview with Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Dia, Anthony says he hopes his wife won't go into labor while he's working. He says, "I've been with her 24 hours a day, and I'm going to be away from her for just a few hours, so she can't go into labor during that time. "I mean, I'm praying that doesn't happen." The 39-year-old star insists the show will go on but he'll fly to Puerto Rico for his show, then immediately fly back to New York.
