HEATH LEDGER NEVER SAW BATMAN FINALS

Poor Heath Ledger never saw his final movie before he died last January. The Dark Knight director Chris Nolan has now screened the first trailer for the tragic actor, but he was still editing the upcoming blockbuster when Ledger lost his life in his New York City Apartment. Nolan says, "He was already on another film. It was months and months since we’d wrapped. We had really cut a lot of the film together and watched the film a couple of times and were about halfway through the edit process." Unfortunately he’d only seen the prologue, the introduction to his character shot with these IMAX cameras and put out as a short film in IMAX for Christmas."We screened it for him and he enjoyed it very much. It gave him a taste of how it was going to come across but I was never able to show him his finished performance and that’s very sad." Ledger is already receiving rave reviews for his portrayal of The Joker, with many critics suggesting the Aussie is a clear front runner for an Oscar.

CHRISTIAN BALE ON LEDGERS FINAL ROLE

Sexy Batman star Christian Bale is hitting out at calls for actor Heath Ledger's final film appearance to be canned, describing the idea as "bloody insane". Movie studio bosses have not yet confirmed whether a scene featuring Ledger’s The Joker character in a body bag will be cut from the new Batman film The Dark Knight. The scene was shot just weeks before the Hollywood actor was found dead at his New York City home in January. Bale is stating his case for keeping Ledger’s last scenes totally intact. He says, "I know there are a lot of people out there who don’t think this movie should be shown."But, if you’re asking my opinion, I think that’s bloody insane. I also think it’s an insult to Heath and everything he stood for."I don’t think anything should be cut. I think it’s the movie he wanted to make. Bale also believes Ledger’s final performance will act as a celebration of his life as an star, and is insisting it would be "rude" not to run with the integral scene. He adds, "The guy was brilliant. He was a fantastic actor and he put everything into this part. I absolutely know without question that he would have wanted everyone to see it."For me, this is a celebration of what he did best - entertain people…Respect the man. This is what he did. This is what he wanted to do."

MICHELLE WILLIAMS MAY SKIP BATMAN MOVIE

Dead actor Heath Ledger's former girlfriend Michelle Williams is skipping the premiere of his final film, after reportedly falling out with the Hollywood actor’s family over her daughter’s inheritance. The stars family is scheduled to make the trip from Australia back to New York City, where the star died from an accidental overdose last January, for the screening of the Batman Begins sequel The Dark Knight on July 14th. But Williams, the mother of his two year old daughter Matilda, won’t be with them, according to the New York Post. The newspaper claims Williams has fallen out with Ledger’s father Kim, who is the executor of the late actor’s estate. A source tells the newspaper, "Michelle is furious with Heath’s family and threatening to boycott the premiere. Matilda is supposed to be the beneficiary of the will, but Michelle has seen nothing from them. Heath didn’t have much in cash, but there was a big house in Los Angeles California and a back-end deal for ‘Dark Knight’ that could reap millions more." Ledger left just $145,000 when he died, but recent reports claimed he created a trust for his daughter that includes a $3.1 million home in Los Angeles California and a $2 million property nearby as well as a duplex in Brooklyn, New York, which is currently valued at $4.5 million.

DEAD HEATH LEDGER'S HIDDEN MILLIONS

Recently deceased Heath Ledger left hidden millions stashed away for his daughter Matilda, according to media reports. It was feared the two-year-old would miss out on the star’s fortune because Ledger never updated a will he signed off on two years before he died in last January. But now in depth research carried out by Life & Style magazine has unearthed new details suggesting that Matilda will inherit millions when she comes of age. According to a source, Ledger formed the Thank You for the Trust trust shortly after Matilda’s birth, making his daughter and her mother Michelle Williams co-trustees of high-priced properties he owned.Though Ledger’s will amounted to just $145,000, the smart star made sure his daughter was well provided for thanks to his properties and future income. The insider tells the publication, "He knew exactly what he was doing when he made Matilda co-trustee. There’s no way he would have left his daughter without a dime. She was the world to him." The source says the trust Ledger created includes a $3.1 million home in Los Angeles California, a $2 million property nearby and a duplex in Brooklyn, New York, currently valued at $4.5 million

HEATH LEDGER WAS WARNED ABOUT JOKER

Heath Ledger As The Joker

Dead Hollywood star Heath Ledger was urged to seek psychiatric help during the filming of new Batman movie, according to reports. The troubled actor played the caped crusader’s nemesis The Joker in the film, which wrapped shooting at the end of 2007, just weeks before Ledger was found dead from a drug overdose in his New York City apartment in January. The star reportedly became so involved with the character he was playing, it affected his mood, sleeping patterns and relationships with other cast members. Fox News reports that Ledger was warned not to let the movie take over his life and was pressed to seek counselling. A source tells the broadcaster, "Heath refused to talk to anyone out of character. If you tried to communicate with him normally instead of The Joker, he would just ignore you."He would often come to the set to hang out even on his days off, freaking everyone out. Towards the end of filming, he was warned by people that he had gone too far, but it was almost like he couldn't connect with those who cared for him anymore."

HEATH LEDGER COCAINE LAWSUIT FILED

A crazy lawsuit against a photo agency and two paparazzi who allegedly filmed Heath Ledger in a hotel room where drugs were being taken, claims that the late actor was also using cocaine that night. The lawsuit, filed Friday in a Los Angeles California Court by a woman who was not named, alleges that two Splash News paparazzi lured Ledger up to her room at the Chateau Marmont Hotel on Jan. 29, 2006. It says they gave him cocaine and secretly filmed the actor, who also had some of his own cocaine. The woman is listed only as "Jane Doe" in the court papers for "fear of consequences and repercussions" of what would happen if the "public were made aware of her true identity," but labels her as a People magazine freelance reporter covering a Screen Actors Guild Awards after party at the famed West Hollywood hotel. "She doesn't intend with this lawsuit to seek publicity," Douglas L. Johnson, the woman's lawyer, told The Associated Press on Friday. "If anything, she's seeking damages for the invasion of her privacy." The lawsuit names Splash News, managing partner Gary Morgan, and paparazzo Eric Munn and Darren Banks, whom the lawsuit says the woman was "occasionally dating." Her claims against them include fraud, negligence, trespassing, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, among others.
The woman is suing for unspecified damages and profits from the sale of the Ledger tape because she says the defendants took control of a hotel room she paid for, used the mini bar and filmed her without her permission. She also claims her reputation has been damaged as a result of being featured in the footage, which she wants destroyed. "She was deceived and doesn't feel too good about it," Johnson told the Associated Press. "She tried to physically throw them out of the hotel room." A People magazine representative confirmed the woman was freelancing for the magazine at that time and they were aware of the alleged encounter with Ledger, but there were too many questions surrounding the circumstances for People to write about it. The representative said the woman is no longer associated with the magazine and has not been since last year. Ledger's representative had no comment about the lawsuit. Phone calls to Splash by the Associated Press were not returned. The lawsuit says Ledger found out he was being taped by Munn on the hotel room's balcony and was very upset about it throughout the evening, but that the paparazzi calmed him down several times, supplied him with more cocaine and insisted the tape would be destroyed. A cocaine dealer arrived in the hotel room later in the evening, the lawsuit adds. The woman, who the lawsuit says appears in the video with her face blurred, claims she forgot about the tape until "Entertainment Tonight" began advertising footage. After airing a preview of the video in January, "ET" and sister show "The Insider" decided against broadcasting the footage. At that time, they said the video did not show Ledger using drugs. The video later surfaced internationally and online at the News of the World Online. In the video, Ledger said that he was "going to get serious (word bleeped) from my girlfriend" for being in the hotel room. The video also showed Ledger rolling cigarette paper and saying "I used to smoke five joints a day for 20 years." Ledger died Jan. 22 in his New York City apartment from taking six types of painkillers and sedatives.

Haydn fell out with Kim 20 years ago over the latter’s handling of their late grandfather’s estate. If the rumors are true; Matilda, Ledger’s two year old daughter with ex-fiancee Michelle Williams, would have to share his estate with a 10-year-old half brother or sister.Ledger died on January 22nd from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs at his New York City apartment.

BEWARE OF FAKE HEATH LEDGER POSTERS

Die hard fans of dead Hollywood star Heath Ledger have been warned against buying any memorabilia material claiming to be from new Batman movie The Dark knight, because it’s all fake. According to Internet reports, bogus traders in Los Angeles California have been selling ’signed’ Dark Knight photographs and posters featuring the late actor as The Joker to unsuspecting movie fans. But none of the items are authentic - because promotional material for the forthcoming movie has yet to hit the market, reports Perez Hilton. A representative for Warner Bros. Pictures, the film studio behind the project, says, "There are no Dark Knight posters or memorabilia connected to the movie on sale yet. We are investigating how they have been pirated." A source close to the Ledger family claims they "are appalled" Heath’s memory is being abused in such a way, adding, "They’re furious that pirates are cashing in on his death." Ledger suffered a fatal accidental overdose of prescription drugs in his New York City apartment on January 22nd.

HEATH LEDGER LEAVES CHILD OUT OF WILL

Heath Ledger's dad is vowing to make sure the Hollywood star’s young daughter Matilda and ex. Michelle Williams are financially "taken care of", after they were left out of his will. The Brokeback Mountain actor was found dead in his New York City apartment in January after suffering an accidental drug overdose. Details of Ledger’s will which was filed in Australia in April 2003, were revealed yesterday in which he leaves everything to his parents Kim and Sally and his older sister Kate. A series of documents filed in Manhattan, New York’s Surrogate’s Court, obtained by the New York Daily News, shows Ledger had less than $145,000 worth of assets in New York at the time, including a $25,000 Toyota Prius and $20,000 in furniture. But the will was compiled before Ledger made the Oscar-winning Brokeback Mountain in 2005, when he met his fiancee-to-be Williams - the mother of two-year-old Matilda. However, both Ledger’s representative Mara Buxbaum and his dad Kim have dismissed speculation Williams and little Matilda will not be provided for, reports People.com. Buxbaum says, "The story is getting taken out of context and media is speculating that this means Matilda and Michelle will not be taken care of. I want to make it very clear nothing could be farther from the truth." And in a statement released on Saturday afternoon, Kim adds: "Matilda is our absolute priority and Michelle is an integral part of our family. They will be taken care of and that’s how Heath would want it to be." Ledger and Williams split in September 2007.

HEATH LEDGER HONORED AT SPIRIT AWARDS

Dead Hollywood star Heath ledger was honored for his "dazzling creative spirit" by the 'I'm Not There' filmmaker Todd Haynes at the Film Independent Spirit Awards last night. While accepting the annual independent film event’s first Robert Altman Award for director and ensemble cast, Haynes stated he was "shattered" by Ledger’s "inconceivable absence." He said, "We all loved him so dearly. He really was unlike anybody I’ve ever known, giving up of himself less like an actor than a creative partner." Haynes then paid tribute to the late actor’s hidden talents as a director of "diverse music videos," and revealed his actor pal was in the process of making his feature film directorial debut before he died in January. The director then added, "He had just started circulating a feature script that he was planning to direct, an adaptation of The Queen’s Gambit by Walter Tevis."I have no doubt he would have made an astounding director… I treasure the time we shared on this film and the love and talent that he gave so freely." In presenting the Robert Altman Award, actress Patricia Clarkson added, "Anyone who has seen the film I’m Not There will remember the line, `Live in your own times, child.’ As actors, we were lucky to live in Heath’s times. CREMATED HEATH LEDGER LAID TO REST

Michelle Williams and Cate Blanchett at service

Hollywood star Cate Blanchett and Heath Ledger's mom and dad paid a sad tribute to the late actor with deep eulogies at a memorial service in his hometown of Perth, Australia today. Over 600 family members, friends and fans gathered to bid farewell to the talented Brokeback Mountain star, where his I’m Not There co-star Blanchett gave a funny and touching eulogy about their time spent together. Mourners watched a photo montage dedicated to Ledger’s family and daughter Matilda, his two-year-old with former fiance Michelle Williams. The actress was there, but did not bring Matilda to the service at Penrhos College, a private girls’ school. Ledger’s father Kim addressed the world wide media early in the morning to ask for their privacy as the family attended a private funeral service at Fremantle Cemetery, where the body was cremated. He told reporters, "It’s a pretty sad time and we’re finding it difficult to cope by ourselves, let alone cope with everybody around the world. "Having said that we do really appreciate the outpouring and the emotional support from all over the world, which, suffice to say, we’re luckier than most families, most families that are in our position, our grieving position, don’t have that kind of support. So thank you all very much. That’s all I’ve got to say.'’ Ledger was found dead at his New York apartment last month at just 28 years old. Toxicology results released the other day revealed he was killed by an accidental overdose of prescribed medications.

FEDS GO AFTER HEATH LEDGER RECORDS

Federal officials have subpoenaed Heath Ledger's autopsy records as part of an investigation into how the actor had access to the prescription drugs that caused his death last month. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) investigators served the New York Medical Examiner’s Office with the legal paperwork as part of its standard procedure when a person dies from an accidental overdose, reports People.com. On Wednesday, the city’s medical examiner ruled Ledger died from an accidental overdose of six prescription medications, including painkillers, sleeping pills, anti-anxiety pills and antihistamines. DEA spokesman Erin Mulvey said on Thursday, "We are working with the New York Police Department to identify any illegally prescribed drugs that may have been prescribed to Ledger."

HEATH LEDGER'S FAMILY ISSUES STATEMENT

Heath Ledger will now rest in peace

Hollywood star Heath Ledger's family have released a statement following the announcement the actor died from an accidental drug overdose.Toxicology tests have comnfirmed he died as a result of a combination of six prescription medicines in his system. In the statemen, issued right after the medical examiner’s findings were made public, the Ledger family call for an end to speculation, and warn others of the dangers of prescription drugs. It reads, "We remain humble as parents and a family, among millions of people worldwide who may have suffered the tragic loss of a child. Few can understand the hollow, wrenching, and enduring agony parents silently suffer when a child predeceases them. Today’s results put an end to speculation, but our son’s beautiful spirit and enduring memory will forever remain in our hearts."While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy. Heath’s accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage."Our family enjoyed an extremely happy two week visit with Heath just prior to the New Year. Those recent precious days will stay with us forever. We as a family feel privileged to have some of his amazing magic moments captured in film. To most of the world Heath was an actor of immeasurable talent and promise. To those who knew him personally, Heath was a consummate artist whose passions also included photography, music, chess and directing. We knew Heath as a loving father, as our devoted son, and as a loyal and generous brother and friend."We treasure our beautiful granddaughter Matilda (to our dear Michelle) as well as an unbelievably wonderful network of close friends, forever, around the world. Families rarely experience the uplifting, warm and massive outpouring of grief and support as have we, from every corner of the planet. This has deeply and profoundly touched our hearts and lives. We are eternally grateful."At this moment we respectfully request the worldwide media allow us time to grieve privately, without the intrusions associated with press and photography." The star will be buried at his family’s plot in Karrakatta Cemetery in his native Perth, Australia. A private funeral will reportedly be held on Saturday with his ex-fiancee Michelle Williams and their two-year-old daughter Matilda in attendance.

HEATH LEDGER DIED OF SEVERAL DRUGS

Hollywood star Heath Ledger died by an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, the New York City Medical Examiner has ruled. A statement from the Medical Examiner reads, "Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine."We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications."The star, who was found dead on January 22nd at the young age of 28, will be buried at his family’s plot in Karrakatta Cemetery in his native Perth, Australia.
