The club Owner, Simon Hammerstein - grandson of Broadway lyricist Oscar Hammerstein - publicly asked for the offending employee, a dancer, to be chastised over the incident. However, in an email to the bar’s general manager, obtained by New York gossip column PageSix, Hammerstein criticizes the Hollywood couple, insisting they got what they deserved. He is reported to have written, "Ashton and Demi, they are so up their own asses. And they spend nothing. I can’t stand those two, and I applaud whoever spilled a drink on them."
