The Coronas Ireland’s multi-platinum-selling band The Coronas ( www.thecoronas.net ) have been playing together for most of their lives. Trust the Wire, their fifth album and the first on their own label imprint, became the band’s first #1 album when it debuted at the top of the Irish music chart in early June. Trust the Wire was released in North America ahead of this November tour, and “Real Feel” (track 2) is the first single. This video for it has over 140,000 views. The Coronas will play in Brooklyn on Friday, November 10 at Rough Trade. This summer they played to their largest audience ever—15,000 people at the sold-out Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin. They are poised to bring their music to other parts of the world this fall with shows scheduled in Europe, the UK and Australia in addition to North America. Lucy Yang has the story from Fort Greene. By Lucy Yang -- WABC NEWS They are just kids - the youngest is perhaps eight years old. Now, they are wanted by the police. Detectives believe the group of youngsters between eight and 14 years old, one of them a girl, mugged a 30-year-old man. Authorities say they punched him, threw him to the ground, then stole his laptop bag, a library book and headphones. The group attack happened back on November 25th, shortly after midnight. The victim was walking down Willoughby Street when he crossed paths with the kids. The block features Long Island University on one side, apartments on the other. What isn't very clear is when it will be released. Universal Music in Columbia tweeted "#noticias para los seguidores de @U2. El disco se va a titular #Sirens y estará listo en el mes de septiembre" which translates roughly to "For fans of U2. The album Sirens will be ready in September." HARDING ****   A Midsummer Night's Dream A December Dream --- I was at the opening of Julie Taymor’s soon-to-be-massive theater game changer The Lion King on October 15, 1997 at the New Amsterdam Theatre in NYC. Minute by minute the audience gasped at each and every moment onstage and from then on I was a huge, huge Taymor-devotee. I watched her direction in the momentous movie Across The Universe and watched her exploits in Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark… which I immediately embraced. Sure, things turned sour with Spidey and she left, although from what I hear, things proceeded as if she was still there as the re-booted performance borrowed heavily from her initial work.
