Britney Spears

It was a day of many milestones for Britney Spears. The day after celebrating her 32nd birthday and on the same day as her new album release, the megastar literally stopped traffic along the famed Las Vegas Strip as an elaborate event was thrown in her honor to officially welcome her to her new home at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

In anticipation of her two-year residency, “Britney: Piece of Me,” which kicks off on Friday, Dec. 27, an homage performance to some of Britney’s biggest hits was staged in front of the property. After dancers performed to “Baby, One More Time,” “Oops I Did It Again,” “Toxic,” “Slave 4 U” and “Circus” at the top of the property’s front steps, the crowd’s attention was drawn to Las Vegas Boulevard as the singer’s newest hit, “Work B**ch,” began playing. The city’s newest headliner arrived in an impeccably restored 1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible escorted by an eight-car motorcade. Fans went wild for Britney as she emerged from the car and walked through a custom-made LED-lit arch before ascending the stairs to be greeted by Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino President David Hoenemeyer.

With the excitement for the launch of her Las Vegas residency show reaching a fervor pitch coupled with the release of her highly-anticipated eighth studio album “Britney Jean,” ticket demand for “Britney: Piece of Me” has been overwhelming. Given record-setting sales, the next set of show dates for “Britney: Piece of Me” will go on sale earlier than expected, with a public on sale on Saturday, Dec. 7. Guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets now, as some performances are sold out and a very limited number of tickets are available for the previously-announced show dates.

“I already feel like home here at Planet Hollywood. It was so nice to celebrate my birthday and album launch with this incredible welcome event," said Britney. "I am so excited for everyone to hear my new album today, and to experience ‘Britney: Piece of Me’ in just a few weeks!”

Special pre-sales for “Britney: Piece of Me” will be held for American Express cardholders starting Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. PT, and Total Rewards members, the loyalty program of Planet Hollywood’s parent company Caesars Entertainment, starting Thursday, Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. PT. The following new show dates will go on sale to the public on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. PT:

The new issue of Us Weekly has all of the details from Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ dream wedding day.

Blake Lively

Ryan Reynolds
Without even announcing their engagement, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds married Sunday in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens. Although the guest list only included about 60 family and friends, the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress made sure to include her fellow sisters on that list. America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel were all in attendance to witness Lively tie the knot. The four ladies have remained close since starring together in 2005's The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and 2008's The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, which were based on Ann Brashares' bestselling young adult novels.

The couple, who have been together less than one year, exchanged rings in an intimate ceremony on the same property where the 2004 romantic movie The Notebook was filmed. For her walk down the aisle, the Gossip Girl star wore a custom-made Marchesa bridal gown.

Also included below are this week’s Hot Stuff items which include the scoop on Britney Spears’s booze-free hotel rider, Teresa Giudice slamming Lauren Manzo for her lapband surgery, Selma Blair’s split from boyfriend Jason Bleick, and Dianna Agron leaving Glee.

Britney Spears

Brit’s Team Bans Booze!

If Britney Spears seems a little loopy on the X Factor judges’ panel, it’s not because she’s buzzed. During auditions around the U.S., the singer’s team made sure booze was removed from every place she stayed before she arrived! “Very important: We require you to empty the minibars of all alcohol,” reads a hotel rider for the rehab vet, 30. “And no gifts of wine or any other alcoholic beverages, please.” Not that Spears has been treating her gig as an opportunity to let loose. When discussing the Fox show’s second season, Simon Cowell, 52, declared September 6 that his fellow judge “has taken this very seriously.”

TERESA GIUDICE: Her Cruel New Insult

 Teresa Giudice

The New Jersey Housewife slams Lauren Manzo’s surgery

Weight war! Teresa Giudice, 40, tipped the scales of drama during the Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion taping September 7, attacking enemy Caroline Manzo’s daughter, Lauren, for having lap-band surgery. After host Andy Cohen interviewed the 24-year-old about shedding 30 pounds with the 2011 procedure, a source says, “Teresa went after Lauren and told her she took the easy way out.” Mama Manzo, 51, “went off!” says the source. “She said Teresa didn’t know what she was talking about.” And bitterness from the reunion (part one airs on Bravo September 30) spilled over to Watch What Happens Live September 9. Giudice highfived fellow guest Perez Hilton, 34, for losing weight without going under the knife (“I like natural,” she said). Lauren defended her choice on Twitter, writing, “I’m healthy now.” Then she fired back with a reference to an infamous Giudice episode: “Letting your husband call you a c--t . . . is a great message to send your daughters.”

Selma’s Sad Split

Selma Blair

Selma Blair is single again. The Anger Management actress, 40, has quietly parted ways with fashion designer boyfriend Jason Bleick, 42, whom she began dating in 2010. “They were fighting nonstop,” says a source of the duo, parents to 14-month-old Arthur. Blair and the baby have now moved into a temporary rental in L.A.’s Venice, according to an insider, but Bleick did get some quality time with his son September 8: “Jason met Selma at a restaurant, then took Arthur for a walk by the beach.”

DIANNA AGRON: She’s Done With Glee!

 Dianna Agron

Robert De Niro
Quinn Fabray has clocked out. Sources tell Hot Stuff that Glee’s Dianna Agron, 26, has negotiated an early exit from the musical comedy’s fourth season. “Dianna was unhappy and had been trying to get off the show for a while,” says a source. “She and producers came to an agreement where they let her go. That’s what she wanted.” (A show rep tells Us, “This is patently false.”) The actress, whose character graduated and was accepted to Yale last season, will appear in a few episodes before being written off, the source adds. Agron isn’t alone in her dissatisfaction: “Some cast members have lost their passion for the show. They find the stunt casting and lack of good story lines depressing,” says the source. Meanwhile, Agron has a juicy new role. She’s in France for three months shooting the mafia drama Malavita —with Robert De Niro!

How does a pop sensation wind up bald and trapped in her own musical? And can musicals save her soul?

Debuting at The Retro Dome in San Jose, Calif. on February 10, Becoming Britney is a caustic (but loving) fable that chronicles the rise, the dip, and the salvation of a foolhardy celebrity phenom. Part parody, part homage, this high-octane award-winning musical manages to elevate itself above standard musical satire and pop culture snark to add a layer of heart.

Becoming Britney, which was honored at the prestigious New York International Fringe Festival, features 14 original songs that pay homage to multiple musical theatre genres; they include a comical waltz between Britney and K-Fed as they both agree the other is, “The Love of My Life (So Far),” a show-stopper called “Push It Out” in which Brit has two babies, and “Out of Control,” a swingin’ jive number about her downward spiral with the help of friends Lindsay and Paris.

The show features New York International Fringe Festival Award-winning actress Molly Bell* in the title role alongside Keith Pinto*, Adam Barry*, Lizzie O’Hara, Leanne Borghesi* and Danelle Medeiros.Book, Music and Lyrics are by Molly Bell & Daya Curley, who also directs. Becoming Britney is produced by Scott, Shannon and Stephen Guggenheim of Guggenheim Entertainment, Inc.

Becoming Britney opens Friday, February 10 and closes Sunday, March 11. Shows will run Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. More information and tickets are available at

Britney Spears

BRITNEY SPEARS – Has Britney Spears reached her tipping point? Her new song “Hold It Against Me” is a terrifically written and produced piece of crafty pop music; certainly timely, full of hooks … but, eerily similar to the other works of producer/writer Max Martin, from Sweden, who has become the Svengali of pop music these days; producing and writing songs for the likes of Katy Perry, Backstreet Boys, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, and is currently working with Carrie Underwood and Adam Lambert. Let’s face it, when Spears first appeared on the music scene, she didn't have all that much competition, now, her most clear and present competition may well come from Lady Gaga who was still honing her craft when Spears first broke through in 1999 with her debut album Baby … One More Time. Spears who was born on December 2, 1981, has been credited and rightfully so, with bringing the focus of the masses back again to younger artists; but, what was new then, isn't necessarily new now. The accompanying video for her new song is a monster of a production with a dome literally drenched with pieces of electronic equipment. Truth be told, it reminds me of the dome that for so decorated the legendary Saint night club on 105 Second Avenue in NYC, back in the day. Filled with various product placements, it’s daring and jarring … but, is it new? Interestingly enough, three-quarters of the way through the video she engages with her Doppelganger, in some rather feisty fighting moves, ultimately leaving both wasted on the floor. Confusing? Definitely. With two kids, and an ex-husband or two are laying about, she’s now approaching adulthood. Sure, this new song is terrific, but in some ways, she’s yesterday’s news.

James Franco

OSCARS – Believe it or not, the Oscars are this Sunday evening, with hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco. Ever since they upped the ante to 10 Best Picture Nominees …it’s been a better than average horse race. To me, I liked True Grit the best this year. I thought in almost every way … it was a perfect movie. That last scene of Jeff Bridges riding on his horse, shot against a star-lit sky, was beautiful. Poetic in every way. Colin Firth was my choice last year for his riveting performance in A Single Man … and, although I haven't yet seen The King’s Speech (sorry Harvey!), I hear as an ensemble piece, it’s uniquely outstanding. I just read where none other than Elton John said Michele William’s performance in My Blue Valentine was the performance of the year; so, this weekend I will see that. With two relatively newer hosts it should be quite the show; I loved Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin last year, so am ready for this year’s shot with two fresh faces. Other faces I'd like to see take home an award, are: Christopher Nolan the director and writer from Inception. I'm still not so sure exactly what the movie was about; but, it was so artfully done and the effects just jaw-dropping, that I hope he’s rewarded accordingly. For the record, I think Nolan is the new Tim Burton. Jeremy Renner who was just so brilliant in Ben Affleck’s The Town (which itself was vastly overlooked). To me, this was the sleeper movie of the year. His direction was sensational and the performances he got were so good. Major disappointment with this one; but, one of the best pictures of the year for sure. The late Pete Postlethwaite was terrific in this one too. I haven't yet seen Black Swan as the commercials scared the bejesus out of me; I love Natalie Portman, so I will … and, she appears to be the odds on favorite. The Social Network to me read on the screen more like a biography. Great story … but, like reading a book. The script, from Aaron Sorkin was brilliant; but, then so is all his stuff! We'll re-cap on Monday.

Whitney Houston

MY BODYGUARD – Warner Brothers is moving ahead with plans to remake their 1993 hit The Bodyguard, which starred Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. The original flick grossed over $411 million worldwide; impressive … right? The original version was a fairly straight forward narrative of a Secret Service agent brought into protect a burgeoning superstar whose life has been threatened by a stalker. According to Deadline Hollywood’s Nikki Finke, the new version will have the bodyguard as a former Iraq war veteran who gets the job, protecting the star as his first gig after leaving the Army. He discovers that the world of Twitter, Google Maps, and TMZ has made access to celebrities easier than ever. The studio plans to cast an unknown as the star. Who knows, maybe they could protect Lindsay Lohan or Miley Cyrus or, even Lady Gaga … sounds fun!

JOLENE MATTHEWS – We're sitting with her next week for proper interview; but, she’s just let us know that she has started to train Bravo's The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice. Can't wait for the details!

END QUOTE: Eric Lefcowitz, author of Monkee Business: The Revolutionary Made- For-TV Band (Retrofuture Products): “The Monkees take on different meanings at different times. Back in the 1960's, they were the first signs that rock ‘n’ roll was going show up in people’s living rooms. Long hair, rock music—that was considered edgy stuff for the time. Then in the 1980's, when MTV came to prominence, they were seen as the original video band and had a major comeback tour. In the 2000's, you could begin to see the Monkees a new way, as the original reality TV stars. In the future they will probably assume new meanings. They really are avatars, and I'm not talking about those blue people in James Cameron’s movie!”

A California judge has ruled that former toxic singer Britney Spears will remain under the conservatorship of her dad until at least January 2010. Recent reports claimed Britney was going to undergo a psychiatric evaluation in a bid to determine whether she is fit to regain control of her affairs, but a Los Angeles judge has decided to extend her father Jamie's role as conservator of her fortune. Jamie Spears was put in control of Britney's estate after her 2008 meltdown, when she was hospitalized on an involuntary psychiatric hold. Jamie Spears will keep receiving $16,000-a-month payment for his duties, and is expected to stay in charge of his daughter's dealings for at least another six months, according to

Britney Spears

Former toxic singer Britney Spears' lip-synced shows are causing huge controversy in Australia. One of the country's leading politicians is urging ticket agencies to warn fans when artists plan to fake it. Spears is currently performing there as part of her "Circus" world tour, but Aussie. critics are slamming the singer for failing to perform live during the shows. Now the New South Wales Minister for Fair Trading, Virginia Judge, has waded into the debate, and is insisting ticket agencies should publish a disclaimer to stop gig-goers feeling cheated when an artist fails to provide any live vocals. Judge has branded Spears' shows a "Mickey Mouse performance," adding: "Let's be clear - live means live. If you are spending up to $200, I think you deserve better than a film clip. The NSW Government would be happy to look at options, such as a disclaimer on a ticket which would warn consumers a performance is pre-recorded."

Britney is heading to Aussi-land next month to play her first ever shows in the country for fans in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. And in a hope to ensure she maintains her shared custody of her two sons with ex-hubby Kevin Federline while she's on the road. Spears is also vowing to stay away from any temptations. Britney is also insisting her staff do the same. A source tells Aussie newspaper the Herald Sun, "Britney's rule is clear - zero tolerance. No drink. No drugs. If you do not comply, you do not tour with Britney." According to the publication, all 150 members of Spears' tour entourage have signed contracts which state they must undergo urine tests.

Britney Spears

Former troubled singer Britney Spears will share equal custody of her children with Kevin Federline until 2010, after a judge extended an agreement allowing her to see the kids during her Circus world tour. Britney negotiated a deal with ex-hubby Federline earlier this year, which allowed her to take her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, around the globe while she is touring. Federline, who has primary custody of the children, travelled with Spears entourage, and the deal worked out so well for everyone, that Spears was granted extra time with the children, splitting custody equally. The deal was initially agreed until the end of August, but lawyers for both parents have agreed to extend the order until the end of 2009. Britney will still be allowed 50/50 custody, and even more at certain times, according to

Former toxic singer Britney Spears is denying gossip that she’s staging fake music video auditions to liven up her love life, following allegations she propositioned a sexy male model during a recent casting. Britney has not been dating much since her divorce from Kevin Federline, and rumors suggest her romance with her agent, Jason Trawick, has recently cooled off. According to the New York Daily News, the star set up a fake casting in Los Angeles California to find a new boyfriend, but her hand-picked suitor, 24-year-old model Bekim Trenova, turned her down flat. A source says, "When he got there, there was no camera crew. There was just Britney. She was looking sexy. She made it pretty clear that she was less interested in hiring him than in dating him. Bekim found the whole scene very weird. He was polite but not interested. He made some excuse to get out of there." Trenova has declined to comment. But a spokesperson for Spears claims the story is "completely false," insisting "She (Spears) doesn’t know this guy".

Britney Spears

Pop singer Britney Spears has posted a stern warning on her official website telling fans not to fall for fake ‘meet and greets’ on Internet auction sites. Britney and her management are concerned that devoted fans could be cheated out of their money by online scams, offering them the chance to meet the star in person. Britney is insisting her fans should only enter legitimate competitions which have been set up in conjunction with her Circus tour, because online auctions could be fake. A post on Spears’ official website reads, "There have been recent sightings of Internet auctions for fans to bid for a chance meet Britney. wants to warn fans about these fraudulent opportunities. These postings are fake. "Fans would never be charged to meet Britney. The only meet and greets available for the Circus tour are through radio contests in select cities. Please be sure to listen to your local radio station to see if your city is eligible for a meet and greet. Do not bid for one online."

Former Toxic singer Britney Spears is struggling to keep her young sons in check. The children won't stop cursing. Britney has cleaned up her wild life following a meltdown in 2008, in a hope she can win back custody rights of her two sons, Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, from ex-hubby Kevin Federline. But it seems Britney is slipping, Witnesses were shocked when she failed to discipline the boys when they repeatedly shouted, "Oh [bleep]," at a celebrity event, according to the New York Daily News. An insider tells the publication, "She was too busy picking out freebies to chastise the boys for misbehaving. "We were all surprised by their potty mouths, but it was actually pretty funny." Spears has in the past blamed the boys' bad language on Federline, insisting they pick up naughty words from their father. She said, "(The boys) are starting to learn words like stupid, and Preston says the f-word now sometimes. He doesn't get it from us. He must get it from his daddy. I say it, but not around my kids."

Ashley Olsen

Former actress Ashley Olsen is amazed she has avoided sex and drugs scandals and is insisting the pressures of early fame should have caused her to have a public breakdown just like Britney Spears. Ashley and her twin sister Mary-Kate have been in the limelight since they were just six months old, when they were hired to star in the hit television show "Full House." She tells magazine Marie Claire, "I look at Britney, and I'm surprised I didn't end up like her." And Olsen is also admitting her stressful childhood should have scared her off being a celebrity, adding, "(Growing up) it was almost like I was in the army. School, work, homework, fly to New York, get in at two in the morning, do a morning show at 5 a.m., then another one at seven, then a radio interview at 10".

It has been very quiet on the Britney Spears front, but now she's hitting the news again. Britney decided not to bring her sons to Russia during her tour, after she was reportedly left very upset by several death threats. Britney has been travelling through Europe with sons Sean Preston and Jayden James as she is performing her live Circus show across the continent. Britney has been inundated with a series of threatening e-mail messages, and now she is refusing to bring her sons with her as she played her first ever show in Russia, leaving them with family members in London. Spears also decided against staying in the country herself, spending the night in Finland and jetting to St Petersburg. Britney will fly back to Moscow to perform at the capital tomorrow, before taking her private jet back to London to be with her boys. A tour spokesperson reportedly told British newspaper The Sun, "Originally, both boys were to accompany Britney but she was against taking them because of these constant threats."
