SCREEN LEGEND BURT REYNOLDS DIES AT AGE 82

Burt Reynolds Recently In NYC

CNN - Burt Reynolds, the mustachioed megastar who first strutted on screen more than half a century ago, died Thursday, according to his agent Todd Eisner. He was 82.

The Michigan native, whose easy-going charms and handsome looks drew prominent roles in films such as "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Boogie Nights," suffered a cardiac arrest, Eisner said.
An iconic Hollywood sex symbol in front of the camera, Reynolds also tried his directorial hand behind it, and later earned a reputation for philanthropy after founding the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre in his home state of Florida.

Read the rest of CNN's story here.

Editors Note: I did a few photo shoots with Bert Reynolds. I think the best one was with him and Luke Perry at a theater on Bleeker Street in NYC. We had so many laughs and I will always remember that night. RIP Burt!

Randy Jones With Mr. Boogie

So much action is happening this time of year in Atlantic City, one of our favorite destinations. Since we were in the seaside mecca for a few days, we just had to hit our favorite hotspot Boogie Nights at the famed Resorts Hotel And Casino, So I packed up a few of my friends to take along. We grabbed 'A Fight For Survival' stars Keith Collins and Theresa Galeani and Village People's most famous cowboy Randy Jones who was in town performing, and we headed into the sunset to dance the night away. Boogie Nights is the ultimate 70's and 80's dance club every Friday and Saturday night. This is the place to be and I could think of no better place to bring Randy Jones who is a legend in his own time. Sometimes things just work out perfect and by chance. As we entered the club and made our way to the ultra VIP section, YMCA started playing to the packed house. The crowd went crazy when they realized Randy Jones was in the house. Not missing a beat, Randy promptly grabbed the mike and sang along with his most famous hit. Our hosts at Boogie Nights Enrique Soto and Danielle Calcagni really know how to throw a 70s and 90s bash!

BOOGIE ON THE BOARDWALK IN ATLANTIC CITY

Michael Jackson Impersonator

A friend of ours was walking down the Boardwalk from the Trump Taj Mahal Memorial Day weekend and she saw a crowd gathering in front of Resorts…loud 80s music, dancers, and a Michael Jackson impersonator. She said it looked like fun and a flashback to old-school Boardwalk entertainment in Atlantic City. What she saw was Resorts Casino Hotel’s free summer attraction “Boogie on the Boardwalk.” Characters from Resorts’ Boogie Nights nightclub interact with boardwalk crowds, hosting dance contests, hula hoop demos, and some crazy stuff like seeing who can be the first to move to guide an Oreo cookie from their forehead to their mouth without moving their hands. Everyone who participated got some sort of prize...but it wasn’t about what they won as it was about having a bit of fun on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. Sure it’s great to hit a jackpot and see a major headliner, but sometimes it just as nice to have a good laugh and share a smile. And that’s what this new offering seems to be about. Anyone that reads Times Square Gossip, knows we love Atlantic City, and spend as much time as we can down there. Cant wait to try it out myself….It’s every Friday from 5pm-9pm, and starting July 4th weekend, every Saturday from 3pm-7pm.

Boogie Nights At Resorts

As all my readers remember, I take many trips down to Atlantic City. On one recent trip at Resorts Hotel and Casino, I decided to hit its 70s and 80s night club, Boogie Nights. Before the party, I stopped at Gallagher’s Burger Bar because last time I was at Resorts I ate at Gallagher’s Steak House and was thrilled with the food and the service. I started off with some great mozzarella triangles, (I don’t know what happened to regular mozzarella sticks, but these stole the show) and then had an incredible Kobe Supreme burger. The service was stellar while the atmosphere and d├ęcor fit wonderfully. After my meal I made my way to Boogie Nights and wow, was that place hopping! If you’re looking for a killer Friday or Saturday night in Atlantic City, Gallagher’s Burger Bar and Boogie Nights at Resorts is the place to go. This place brought back memories of my days in Studio 54 when I partied till dawn, only to go to bed and wake up and do it all again. Only difference now, is I wake up in a beautiful suite and room service from the great staff at the famed casino mecca.

Boogie Nights At Resorts Atlantic City

Since we are going to be in Atlantic City reporting for the next five days or so, we are digging out interesting stories straight from the casinos. We thought this was a interesting alternative to the $100,000, over-the-top traditional wedding? Well now couples don’t have to fly to Las Vegas… They can get married practically in their own backyard - Atlantic City. Voted the “Best Dance Club 2010” by the Atlantic City Nightlife Awards, Boogie Nights is now offering weddings and wedding vow renewals. Boogie Nights offers a variety of ordained 70s and 80s characters that you can choose from to marry couples… Plus there are additional characters that can become part of the wedding party, including Michael Jackson and Madonna look-a-likes. Wedding packages start at $200. For more information, please call the Boogie Nights hotline at 609-340-7698 or by visiting www.resortsac.com. When I asked if they would do gay weddings too, I was told they would follow the laws of the state. So I guess commitment ceremonies are welcome. Too bad I have no one to marry this weekend, but hey, who would be dumb enough to marry us here at Times Square Gossip anyway. But getting back to Boogie Nights, even the other Publicists at the other hotels tell me this club is hot. Boogie Nights is open every weekend on Friday and Saturday night and will be open on Sunday, February 14th for Valentine’s Day. If we can't make it there this trip, I hope our friends at Resorts will invite us back very soon to see what everyone is talking about!
