Anderson Cooper

CNN star Anderson Cooper is being sued by a lady for injuries she allegedly sustained in a fall at a firehouse he owns in New York City. Killian O'Brien, alleges in September 2009 she fell through a hole in the floor at a Greenwich Village firehouse Anderson is converting due to the opening not being covered or guarded.'The defendants and/or their agents, servants, and employees did not properly furnish or erect, or cause to be furnished or erected, safety devices that were constructed, placed, and operated so as to give proper protection to the plaintiff,' states O'Brien, an interior designer. DINA LOHAN'S WAR WITH ANDERSON COOPER

Anderson Cooper Slides Over A Manhole

Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina, who is also my favorite casual friend, is embroiled in a war of words with CNN journalist Anderson Cooper, after he mocked her 14-year-old daughter Ali on a live television show. Cooper took a swipe at the star of reality TV show "Living Lohan," while guest hosting "Live with Regis and Kelly" on Tuesday. After dismissing the E! network show the newsman suggested Ali "looks to be about 60," adding "She allegedly wants to be a singer and/or actor-slash-performer of some sort, striptease person, I don't know." The comment outraged Dina, who has hit back at Cooper, telling OK! magazine "People are just cruel! This is bad karma for him."

Editors Note: Don't worry my friend Dina. I had dinner with Anderson a few weeks ago at some event. He's a nice guy, but it bothers me when someone stays in the closet and I'm sure the crap will hit the headlines soon. My gay friends all have crushes on him, but closeup I'd rather turn straight and slide over to you !

The fifth annual Wayuu Taya Foundation fundraising gala took place in New York City at The Bowery Hotel yesterday. The nonprofit organization founded in 2002 by actress, model and UNESCO Artist for Peace Patricia Velasquez, raises funds for Latin American indigenous communities. The Foundation focuses its attention on those that are most at risk – women and children. Since its inception, the Foundation has helped save the lives of hundreds of children, and has created a self-sustainable program focused on improving the lives of women through education and earning capabilities. In 2005, the Foundation inaugurated its first Roof Project Center; a centrally located network of facilities aimed at improving nutrition, education, and health care for the poorest and most ignored indigenous communities. The Foundation also reaches out to educational and healthcare facilities outside its Roof Project Center. In late 2006 continuing through 2007, the Foundation was instrumental in creating classrooms and assisting local clinics in their reach and operation. The intimate event honored a group of humanitarians who have contributed to the welfare of our global community. In honor of the Foundation’s fifth year anniversary, this year’s honorees included 5 incredible women: iconic fashion designer and founder of the Urban Zen Project Donna Karan, supermodel and CEO of Iman Cosmetics Iman, philanthropist Dany Garcia, Creative Vision’s Founder Kathy Eldon, and world renowned singer Bebel Gilberto. Presenters included CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, Rosie O Donnell, designers Isaac Mizrahi and Narciso Rodriguez. The emcee was former Fox News and MSNBC host and NY Times bestselling author Rita Cosby. Russell Simmons delivered “special remarks” during the event. They joined past honorees that include Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Rachel Weisz, Russell Simmons, Wilmer Valderrama, Eileen Ford, and Carolina Herrera. A special performance by multi Grammy nominated Brazilian singer and honoree Bebel Gilberto provided the evening’s entertainment. The evening opened with a heart-stopping flamenco performance by internationally acclaimed dancer Rafael Amargo. “In just a few short years, we have been able to make a real difference to the lives of so many women and children in one of the poorest areas of the earth. I am confident that this year’s gala event raised enough funds for us to continue and expand our vitally important projects,” said founder, Patricia Velasquez. The Wayuu Taya Foundation was created in order to help improve the lives of Latin-American indigenous people while maintaining and respecting their traditions, culture and beliefs. The Foundation began its operations in an area that borders Venezuela and Colombia — where it has concentrated its efforts in assisting the WayĂșu, an indigenous group comprised of over 500,000 people.

MAGAZINE OUTS POWERFUL ACTRESS JODIE FOSTER AND NEWSMAN ANDERSON COOPER FOR BEING CLOSET HOMOSEXUALS

Out Magazine Out's Jodie Foster and Anderson Cooper

Actress Jodie Foster's sexuality is being questioned again -- this time from one of America's top gay magazines. The editors of Out have put an image of two models holding masks of Foster and CNN newsman Anderson Cooper over their faces on the cover of the upcoming May issue, over the headline: "The Glass Closet: Why the stars won't come out and play." The lifestyle magazine's May issue features a list of America's most influential gay men and women, but editors couldn't resist taking a swipe at Foster, who has been the subject of lesbian rumors for years. According to the editors, the controversial cover image is "a sly commentary on the way that semi-closeted celebrities hide in plain sight." The accompanying article, penned by leading gay writer Michael Musto, sets out to challenge stars like Foster to address the sexuality issue that dogs them, rather than simply avoid the question. Musto writes, "It's true that stars are free to put up whatever walls they want in order to maintain boundaries with the public." Meanwhile, entertainment mogul David Geffen tops Out's gay power list.
