Tony Lopez, former manager of the award-winning group GQ, was inducted into the Legends Of Vinyl New York/DJ/Artists Hall of Fame. The illustrious event took place at Sofrito in Harlem. Originally called The Rhythm Makers, Lopez suggested the prolific group, which consisted of Emanuel Rahiem Leblanc, the late Keith "Sabu" Crier, Herb Lane and Paul Service, change their name to GQ, which stood for Good Quality.

GQ had platinum selling hits including "Disco Nights (Rock Freak)" and the Billy Stewart remake "I Do Love You."

Aside from Lopez, the 2017 Hall of Fame Class included The Village People, Carl Carlton, The Ladies of SKYY and others.

Also a Former Educator and College Basketball Stand-Out, who was invited to ABA Camps as well as to play basketball overseas, Lopez is looking forward to the publication of his memoir "The Real GQ Story: Number 1 With A Bullet," hitting bookstores, Amazon.com, iBooks, Kindle and Nook in time for the upcoming holidays. Plans for a film based on the book are already underway with names like award-winning director Neema Barnett and iconic rapper Jadakiss, showing interest in being involved. Rising to fame in the hip-hop group, The Loxx, Jadakiss has committed to portraying Sabu in the movie.
